Why did EDM die so fast?
Why did EDM die so fast?

Because flashy keyboard beeping noises should never have been a genre to being with
because it was a pyramid scheme to begin with. the people who still like it are the ones who haven't moved past their college partying days
isnt it by far the biggest music industry for summer festivals and discoparty's? am i missing something?
also what definition of EDM is used when described as being dead. if dnb is EDM, is techno EDM and what about that trance. what is EDM Yea Forums ?
but yea fuck skrillex, hope EDM stays dead.
undanceable
It didnt, the mainstream hype for it just died, which is great for the genre
what killed it
Rap/Trap
faggots like OP
Someone post that meme where daft punk says we'll just leave this here ;) then the second panel they come back and everyone is fucking each other and throwing up and daft punk is like oh no what happened
Not enough "diversity". It was replaced with trap.
dnb is dnb.
EDM is literally all music made with electronics where the idea is to dance to it. literally.
DNB = EDM as much as eurohouse = EDM
EDM still gets played at clubs here. Is it in america where they play Trap instead?
It got blacked into the great trap rap mumble rapper dark hole. 2020s will be endless mumble rap everywhere you turn.
this. its fucking everywhere in Europe. sold out stadiums, festivals, how-to-become-a-DJ-in-3-simple-steps etc.
Id much rather party to EDM shit than Trap desu
of course, EDM naturally has a higher BPM than most trap songs, which are typically below that of even "danceable" music. it makes NO fucking sense to be playing trap music at parties
it was not 90% vocal track and the usual people that pay for music want to have the constant nagging of sex stuff or implying big dick big wallet stuff.
with the release of Massive X, the dubstep scene might get a revival. I sure hope so.
edm is watered down dance music made for impatient trust-fund dudebros
zoomer parties just involve downing lean or doing xanax, trap can be party music because all they do is nod off on the couch
its the 808s, they produce an unrivaled level of energy when you make them the most dominant track in the mix, which trap usually does.
^This.
US clubs are either mainstream pop (or older dancey pop from the 80s), hip hop, certain DJ sets of "alternative" music like LCD, Grimes, etc. There are some EDM clubs but in my experience they're more "raves" that are filled with pretty much just teenagers.
>EDM
Please stop using this Americanised, commodified term please, you smoothbrained cunts
Tomorrowland is bigger than ever
what are you talking about, it's not dead at all
it's more popular than any rock music out today
What makes you think electronic dance music is dead?
