how do you zoomers even listen to trap without feeling self degradation nowadays? the only trap I've ever liked is some of travis' well produced shit (because it's produced well) and denzels' imperial cause it's just full of bangers. Carti and other trap artists just never do that for me for some reason.
>it’s been 8 years and Yonkers still hasn’t been topped as best rap song of the decade
Carti's music is like a soundtrack. Doesn't have the substance or complexity of Travis Scott. That's kind of the appeal to me
for most zoomers, it's catchy, hypnotic and easy to listen to. you can put it on at a party and it's basically instant v i b e s~~ bro. the sugary production and repetitive beats are the main reason for that.
for me, it reminds me of some /bleep/ stuff crossed with modern trap tropes. just fun to listen to.
>what is Kid Cudi
Feels like carti isnt really that popular among normies
get off Yea Forums bruv i live near a bunch of frats and they only play him and travis scott
>denzels' imperial cause it's just full of bangers
If you like that then what's stopping you from enjoying other artists who are nothing but bangers?
it was surpassed by kelly k

Maybe in America. In Europe nobody knows who he is.
>appeal is the lack of substance, lack of complexity
user admits he's a brainlet
you dont like rap music. you like some of the most inoffensive indie rock sounding rap made
both travis and denzel suck ass
neck yourself
Thats the worst song on the album, try Location youtu.be
Maybe if Pissy Pamper was released instead of having licensing issues with the sample they used.
Magnolia is like number 6 at most when you rank the songs in this mixtape. Also Die Lit had better songs.
Most europe knows who he is. Drag your fat ass out of the basement for one second, Carti is huge worldwide.
i guess op's not feelin it uh
not feelin the energy

cant tell you how many times i've vibed to this
because they are banking on that horrible, uninspired formula that is frequently used.
travis scotts music doesn't follow any specific formula (aside from repetitive vocals and adlibs, but its rap music come on) musically and his albums are freeflowing and abstract, similar to the way Arcas (mutant) albums feel while you listen to them front to back.
Playboi Carti is essentially post-Rap. Think about it. He breaks the rules of traditional Rap while using tools that originated from it to express his music
When you think about Rap, you think about a song whose text isn't really repetitive, and that compensates that by using a rhyme schemes that helps to repete certain syllables on certain beats to give a rhythmic to the vocals while keeping a lot of space to explore your lyricism and story telling.
But Carti's music completely tears apart those rules. His lyrics are very, VERY, VERY, repetitive. He exaggerates with the use of ad-libs, and change the pitch and timbre of his voice in a weird way, going as far as sounding like a baby. It helps him to make very catchy music that would never meet this level of catchiness in traditional Rap, because of how its rules limit the ability to easily make simple, catchy songs. He breaks so much rules that one wonders if he can still be considered a Rapper. Combines that with a Pi'erre or an Ethereal and it's the peak of catchy Hip Hop
A lot of people who used to hate on Carti but then started to listen to his music told me "it's dumb but I like it, it's enjoyable and I don't know why. It's dumb in a good way". IT'S THE FUCKING POINT. Playful, hard-hitting, spare catchy music, is what Carti is very good at making.
Remove your pretentious values and just feel the music
6hunna is the clowniest set of Chiraq. They are literally all snitching on each others. No loyalty at all. Look what happened with RondoNumbaNine recently. A bunch of jokes man.
young thug's barter 6 is still the best album of this decade. sad that you pretentious mufags who pretend rap is art have forgotten about it. all these newschool trapfags just bit thugger's influence. that's all they ever do. apologize to him now or forever face the consequences
Yeah, it's sad how it declined in the last years

>tripfag
>thinking his opinion counts
that being said magnolia is like his only good song
stop posting about hip hop and go jerk yourselff waiting for the next fleet fox album
why is it that everyone who stans this faggot are all 17 year old anime traps?
pretty much, I wouldn't call it best, but it's up there for sure. however, many of these rappers are heavily influenced by lil b as well
post-rap would imply that it actually does something new or evolved the genre, Die Lit is literally just a boring 4/10 album.
NOT SO FUCKING FAST
youtube.com
great thing that trap isn't hip hop, and you can't even recognize good trap music.
stop embarrassing yourself lmao
yeah I don't mean best album in all genres, but it's easily one of the most influential rap albums of the decade. barter 6 and flockaveli. they both changed the way rap sounded for a long time and neither of them get credit for it.
trap and hip hop are all the same shit.
Middle America loves Carti, Uzi Vert, and Tavis Scott. Step out into the world every once in a while.
That's like, your opinion man. And yes he does something new as explained previously, or maybe Run DMC made music like his that I don't know?
Once Whole Lotta Red drops, Carti is literally going to the forerunner of post-rap.
The same way how post-rock traded in conventional song-structures with prominent use of dynamics & minimalist-influenced soundscapes, post-rap is trading in conventional rap lyricism with nothing but nonsensical uses of vowels, fractured English, and using entirely made-up words that would make your average Dada connoisseur from the 1920's blush beyond all belief.
Carti's changing the game, my friends. Carti's changing the game.
Young Thug was one of, if not THE, pioneer of post-Rap. It's a shame that low-tier copies of him, like Gunna and Lil Baby, don't try to push post-Rap forward and instead just whisper in autotune, bastardizing the style Young Thug created and making it wack. Hopefully we have Playboi Carti to carry the torch of post-Rap.
pleb
I curate our frat’s playlist. We only have two playboi carti songs and sicko mode. Most of our party music is 90s alternative.
Die lit is inexcessible to most normies. Even if I play shoota I start to get weird looks.
Choppa Won't Miss is great when you're wasted with the boyz.
Did y'all really forget about the Barter 6 this quickly?
I GOT ME A CHECK
IN NEW YORKKKKK I MILLY ROCK
Fantano gave it 5/10. Meanwhile, Die Lit got 7/10.
