Madonna and The Boss at #1 and #2 just like it was in 1985.
"Madge’s new record, “Madame X” claims the top spot while the Boss comes it at No. 2 with “Western Stars.”
It marks the first time in 34 years that the two pop superstars took the top two spots. Back in February 1985, Springsteen’s “Born In The USA” held the top spot while Madonna’s “Like A Virgin” was No. 2."
Bruce beat Madonna in basically every other country lmao
the vast majority of these were actual sales

more like boomers actually buy music
Nathan Fisher
>toy story, alladin, bunch of other shit from the 90s showing in theaters >video games are all rehashes >music is too what the fuck is going on. this nostalgia trend SUCKS. imagine traveling to the future only to see all the same shit you saw 30 years in the past. i'd be pissed if i was a time traveler
some guy on here made a post about how madge is doing what all pop stars are now doing, bundling and giving away free concert tickets in the albums.
She got number 1 in america but she is number 2 in the uk
Cameron Bell
There is a 40, 30, and 20 year nostalgia cycle.
The 2020s will be a mixture of the 80's, 90s, and 2000s.
Just like this decade was basically a mentally ill version of the 70s (rock dead, niggers and feminism)
Landon Sullivan
This just doesn't even make sense. Springsteen and Madonna have literally both been nostalgia acts for decades already anyway. If there were a cycle, they would already be out.
Hunter Perry
the nostalgia cycle is only 15-20 years 90s was 70s obsessed 00s was 80s obsessed 10s were 90s and 00s obsessed since we're in early phases of metamodernism and the nostalgia loop is closing quick. 20s will be a mix of 00s/very early 10s.after that the loop closes and we enter full force metamodernism.
It makes total sense. The 2010s are a mixture of the 70's, 80's, and 90's.
EDM = disco Vaporwave = synthpop Soundcloud rap = grunge/punk
Like for example, the 90s were a mixture of 50's, 60s, and 70s. A mentally deranged 50s, were the beatles/nirvana go around taking the world by storm and kurt cobain is the 90's holden caufiled.
I have autism and have thought about this for a while
Like if i were a musicians right now. I would dress like julian casablancs, look like kurt cobain, and make music like phil collins
Electronic garage alt pop nirvana
Ian Jenkins
That's because anyone who bought these records is 50 and they got a physical copy which is easier to make numbers with.
Jaxon Hernandez
Nobody but aging gay queens still cares about Madonna.
Brody Bailey
I'm not a gay queen ( I am aging) And I still care about Madonna music.
Adrian King
i feel you on the 90s being 50's/60's obsessed too but those werent the overall and dominant nostalgia themes of the 90s, it was 70s thru n thru
youre disregarding the 00s which was 100% all 80s nostalgia. since the 10s dominant nostalgia factor was 90s its gonna pull from all aspects of it, inlcudong that decades dominant nostalgia tidbits.
a great example would be the band The Garden. definietely 90s alt/indie influence but they pull from that weird 50s aesthetic you talked about.
Easton Davis
10's have been very 80's inspired. It's all the shit right now, see IT, Stranger Things, Ready Player One, the only half ironic reemergence of Africa by Toto, or 24k Magic
Carter Myers
Bruce is gonna BTFO Madonna
Zachary Barnes
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN MADONNA WAY BEFORE NIRVANA THERE WAS U2 AND BLONDIE AND MUSIC STILL ON MTV
Mason Wright
>Blondie >still existing in 1985 when that song takes place ...
Grayson Roberts
ya that always struck me as odd
Luke Long
>90s was 70s obsessed The 90s were heavily obsessed with the 50s and 60s. This decade has been all about 80s nostalgia plus early 90s with some very minor early 00s thrown into the mix.
David Price
They packed it in after The Hunter bombed.
Michael Bailey
They probably just picked it because it rhymed with MTV and thought their 12 year old audience who wasn't alive then wouldn't know the difference anyway.
