Just a bit less than one more day until Thom Yorke btfos every other album that came out this year
Just a bit less than one more day until Thom Yorke btfos every other album that came out this year
his other solo shit is like 7/10 at best, i'm not sure why anyone would be really excited for this. dawn chorus is good though.
lol no chance yorke's solo albums suck
and btw why his albums cover art sucks so much
*ahem*
based
cringe
Already listened to it. Standout tracks are Forty Six & Two and Third Eye,
This. It's kinda sad how he's on his third solo record and still haven't release anything special.
Why are you lying when we already know the tracklist?
there are always some gems in them. have you listened to the suspiria soundtrack? that was really good.
anyone will share a link in 15 minute please?

mega.nz
FLAC

yeah, it is, I'm listening right now
thanks
Listened to it and giving it an 8.2/10. Pretty good
It's good boys he finally fucking delivered
Right
That was fucking good
Yeah fucking hell what a track
It's pretty cool, I like it
it's out on Spotify in the EU
I'm not that impressed to be honest
Listening to it now
Traffic is fucking excellent
Leaked preview tracks are slightly different to album version
I am a very rude person is my favorite so far.
for me, it's twist
another boring release
has a handful of interesting moments but its overall pretty uneventful and forgettable
cover art is cool though, stanley never disappoints
impossible knots very underrated.
I heavily agree that shit is groovy
twisttwisttwisttwisttwisttwisttwist
blessed yurobros tell us how good it is
I like Runwayaway, it's like Hunting Bears's older brother
yeah it's like Thom decided to meld Pulk/Pull and Hunting Bears, it's very Amnesiac
the rest of it is garbage, but the eraser was maybe better than 90% of radiohead's output. which isn't to say that i don't love all their shit, i just think it's a solid album without a particular weak link on it, and almost every radiohead album has one or two things that make it drag just a bit
is it better than tomorrow's modern boxes at least?
Well done
hey thanks
a million times better
TMB is a great album
Hell yeah, brother
i haven't listened to it in a couple years now and i suppose fresh ears couldn't hurt, but i remember thinking it was just wholly underwhelming. he sounded bored and uninterested in the music itself and there weren't any particular moments that stood out even after quite a few listens, but maybe i just wasn't 'in it', idk
Twistwistwistwistwistwistwisttwisttwisttwistwistwistwistwistwistwistwiswistwistwistwistwisttwisttwisttwistwistwistwisttwisttwisttwisttwistwistwistwist
it's not even out yet, how can it possibly be underrated?
I can't believe Twist ended up being a standout track. The Rag & Bone version was trash
What's Fantano gonna give it?
either something frustratingly high or frustratingly low
strong 5
Well, you got tracks like Interference, The Mother Lode and Pink Section.
Also I'm kinda sad Youwouldn'tlikemewhenI'mangry did not make the cut
Overall pretty gud, want to relisten already.
people still really care for this guy?
6
That would imply that this is on the same level as TMB, I don't think Fantano is THAT daft
So is this just TMB but slightly better or how does it compare?
It's somewhere between TMB and Amok style wise but much better than both
It's an 8 and an aoty contender.
are you saying it's worse? cause this album shits on TMB and Amok
>8
>aoty contender
it's def my aoty so far but i've also been extremely behind on listening to shit this year
rhythm section of amok/tkol
atmosphere of tmb
orchestration of suspiria/amsp
and kinda better than all of them? except amsp
no, I meant the opposite, I guess I worded it weirdly
LINK
>not reserving 10s for extreme cases of exceptional music
just making sure, it was just vague enough to go either way
see
thisand this if you don't want flac
Just listened, I think it tops Eraser as his best, but I wouldn't call it that great of an album.
The previews were the mix used for the short film, they gave out 12'' records of it at showings.
You could still count that as a closer for the album, Thom billed it as an addendum to TMB on release.
just listened to the leak.
thom yorke has completely given up.
He is still doing the creative part but the tight(ish) grip he had on production and maintenance is gone.
Its like how steely dan wouldn't make a new record because they knew they didn't have the motivation and drive to keep the quality in check. Now imagine that except making a record anyway, thats thoms new music.
not really quite sure how you can listen to this and saw he gave up when he made the songs far more interesting than the shit on TMB or the lazy loops on Amok
I wish he did an entire interlude or something dedicated to I woke up.
youtube.com
The way he blended it into the second track takes its entire essence out of it.
stop stalking the thread samefag. listen to something else, stop being like every other readiohead fan
>
>Yorke is the worst part of rabiohead
>Bill Callahan has already released his album
God thom
Yorke sucks and
So does Radiohead, they’re even worse than U2
His albums with Radiohead suck too
I'm having some trouble downloading The Axe here
Because he’s a pleb, Radiohead’s album covers suck too
Reminder that some random guy made a better version of this album five years before Thom did.
damn, samefags are seething about Thom making the AOTY
No I just think Thom Yorke is really
Cringe
>founder of DNA
>some random guy
Way better than his other 2 solo albums, finally
reuploaded?
It works now! Thank you user!
>Complains about samefags
>Is literally a samefag
bump
really interested to hear the extra vinyl track
all his solo shit failed why would this be any different.
>tfw already bored on the first track
it'a day 17284939 of thom yorke trying to be aphex twin. how sad... no one is going to tell him that by now it's just embarassing?
It's not really embarrassing when Thom makes a better album than Aphex Twin has in a decade
well, that's not really dificult, is it? aphex already peaked. thom has been trying this same sound since his first solo album and he's still haven't made anything trully unique or great. they are not bad records btw, just nothing special really. on the third track now, which is actually pretty good. but i was not a big fan of the first two... this is probably going to be on the same categorie of his other solo records: some good tracks here and there, but nothing amazing or mindblowig. i really wish thom would put more effort in his solo records, seriously. he could work with other people, who actually know how to make electronic music...
This record Is much better than the previous 2, If you go into It with that mentality of yours then you won't see It.
He is so
Fucking cringe with the Rick Owen shoes douche chills
Also he has trouble accepting his hair loss
I don’t really see how this is different that Radiohead, first track is a cringe Andy stott rip
You sound like an obsessed 12 year old going on about cringe
Are you fucking zoomer faggots that completely incapable of describing things you don’t like any other way than “cringe”?
He put more effort into this one.
I doubt that Thom was influenced by Andy
>if you go into it that his previously works weren't ass you won't see it
i don't think the problem is that thom isn't putting enough effort in. the problem is that jonny and co add a lot more to the radiohead songwriting process than most people think.
His other 2 works kinda sucked, but this one Is way better imo
i'm trying to like user, believe me. i'm just tired of thom trying this same sound over and over again. so far: "dawn chorus" was meh, kinda repetitive, but maybe it will strike some emotion on me after another listen. "i am a very rude person" was actually nice, could be a radiohead track. "not the news" is playing now and it's good too, nice atmosphere and some actually interesting songwriting here.
Album's alright. I still prefer TMB. Then again, the latter grew on me exponentially, so it's hard to judge. Needs more listens.
Thom really needs new synth patches. I can easily recognize them by now.
Yeah, Dawn Chorus was the most underwhelming track on the whole thing...which is sad, considering all the hype and its history
haha
lole
What's Thom's favorite anime?
twisttwisttwisttwisttwisttwisttwisttwist
Texhnolyze, he told me.
we know what Jonny Greenwood's is
en.wikipedia.org
Evangelion probably, apparently snippets of the soundtrack were in the minidisc leak.
Tex sounds exactly like the type of thing that Thom would love desu
that wasn't from Evangelion. It was a song from a James Bond movie that Evangelion just lifted wholesale
That's why I said it. Why, are you implying I never asked Thom Yorke about animues?
I was just agreeing m8
I'm just making conversation.
ok, just finished the record and... yeah, it's nothing really special. twist is easily the best track here, followed by i am a very rude person (even if it sounds like a radiohead bside) and not the news. the rest goes from ok to boring.
Really don’t hear it. Frankly he’s not capable of making the kind of hypnotic driving beats Stott is.
Probably his best solo work but it meanders a lot and he seems to be incapable of making a beat I can really get into, he’s still really rigid stylistically with them.
K then. Maybe next one will be good.
it's ok, thom. i still think you are a great vocalist and radiohead had some cool records. don't take it personally, ok? we cool?
lol ur right hes retarded
No, there was also Evangelion
...
>8.3
>Not 9.5
Thom Yorke absolutely BTFO!!!!!
>8.3
>not an 11/10
How will Thom Yorke ever recover?
>8.3
>out of 100
Garbage album lmao
>hair
looks like a hairy puss and a bellybutton
Remember that this is Pitchfork so you got to add back each point they subtracted for Thom being white and a male as well as the album not being indie-folk or dream pop. Add it all together and you've got a 10.
If this was some Cardi B shit it would get a 9.8 or something
I chuckled at your name
oh right, pitchfork still exists
that's the highest score they've given a Thom solo effort
Really? I thought Pitchfork sucks Radiohead dick so much the editor might as well be Thom himself
Eraser, TMB and Amok all got 6s
9.5/10
Pitchfork's rating seems premature, but I really enjoyed the one-reeler and NTN. Some really annoying Radiohead fans next to me in the theatre but oh well
white men rejoice
Very good
It's good.
imagine thinking this lmao
not bad 6/10
fav - dawn chorus, not the news
least fav - twist
I’d say closer to 7, but fair enough
I can’t imagine how annoying it would be to watch the short with the stereotypical die-hard Radiohead fans
Thanthony Yorkano here, this is AOTY 10/10
Hey Dogwander! How do you like the album?
Hello! It’s alright but I think a lot of folks are overhyping it. I like the coldness of it, similarly to TMB but there are some questionable choices in regards to songwriting. Not a fan of Dawn Chorus so far sadly and wish it had more guitar integration ala the closer. I’ll prob write up a proper review after a couple of days brewing it in my head
Hm, that's a bit sad you didn't enjoy as much as I am, well to each their own I guess!
Might grow on me. I disliked TMB upon release but now I think it’s on par with Radiohead’s best
It's amazing not gonna lie
The loosest album by him solo. Also the lack of his voice or burying of it works so well.
production is good, it's a good mixture of afroshit with tight percussions and wobbly synths, the usual from thom and that's probably the problem
it sounds like something we sould expect from Thom, its like he's not trying to do something new
and I always have the impression that he composes a cool electronic/instrumental tune and then he sings over it to add some structure
the eraser is still better
anyone seen the movie? is it good?
also i don't have netflix, any way to watch it somewhere else?
IMAX theaters. It'll probably leak too.
