yea we do
yup
i prefer TNWWL but to each their own
of course
Sure, but it's such a huge step down from PFNO. It never made sense to me how that one came before this. It's an indie-prog masterpiece.
Perfect From Now On is way better.
agreed
the title "Carry The Zero" actually refers to that track trying to salvage the forgettable quality of the rest of the album.
they're playing this whole album on their upcoming tour (might have started already, not sure) for it's anniversary. i've never seen them and i'm thinking of copping tickets
When I saw them do it live for Noise Pop last year it was one of my favorite concert experiences. Though I hope they have the five piece instead of the three piece. When I saw them in Berkley open for Death Cab before that it was even better.
This album has really unique guitar solos
Perfect From Now On even more so.
Can't wait for Jason to get through cashing in, taking money from stoned psych-poppers so he can come back and finish new Duster and Helvetia records.
Haven't listened to much of their other stuff, but I saw them at Riot Fest 2016, kind of on a whim. They played all of Keep It Like A Secret, except stretched to an hour long from all the extended guitar solos. It was a great show, wish I could re-live it so I could fully appreciate it.
hell yeah
why listen to builttospill when pavement and modest mouse exist?
why not?
this is my favorite album of all time
good point
i like the song kicked it in the sun
yea this p much
Built to Spill is a chill in-between of the two extremes
less emotional than modest mouse and less absurd than pavement
what's the appeal of pavement? genuinely curious, I really don't "get" them.
imagine being this ignorant lol
get off Yea Forums-core
Built To Spill and Archers of Loaf are the best bands to come out of the 90s
Doug Martsch is a genuine guitar hero
not him but idk man they're my favorite band so i'm extremely biased
listening to slanted and enchanted for the first time was the msot unpredictable experience, like twist after turn back to back and meaningless lyrics for the sake of filling space and sound. i was hooked from the whimsicality desu. they didn't really give a fuck, imagine preppy kids growing up listening to 80s hardcore and not really fitting in the scene so they just diy their own interpretation. didn't really ever take it seriously either, just kinda made music until they got bored

TRICKS ARE EVERYTHING TO ME
it might be because I'm esl so lyrics have taken me a long while to understand without looking them up. I think I'm at a point I might be able to appreciate them. thanks for the post, user. I'll check it out after I'm done listening to perfect from now on.
listen to better 90s indie. listen to perfect from now on or vee vee. pavement is so basic
