There are plenty of local bands here in Coachella/Indio. But besides coachella there really isnt that big of a scene for actual bands, just certain businesses who still hire live music and other personal events. Besides that it's just done for fun, no contests or anything.
Theres a good variety of rock genres. Dont really see people dropping mixtapes tho. But idk, maybe it's harder for hip hop/rap to get out there.
Been to a few when I was in high school just to go with a friend, never my idea. And not really, didnt meet any qts anywhere desu senpai
How does one find the local scene, what does the 'scene' look like to you.
Just local shows played by local bands or out of town but still small bands. Check if you have any DIY spaces or music venues where you are. If not try social media to see if you can find house shows.
I'm from Galveston Texas and recently this band called EL LAGO has been coming on the scene. I found their ep on spotify and listened to it's pretty good.
Minneapolisfag here. Great scene, lots of bands, lots of places to play, lots of genres represented.
We get a lot of DIY punk outfits out of Texas here in Shreveport.
nearly nonexistant. it mostly consists of boomer bluegrass collectives and latin reggae stuff. there's only two venues. house shows are ok when the depressed, forgotten hippies manage to pull something together, but everyone hates this town. i hate this town. the qts are all either heroin addicts or underage. highschool graduates all run off to good schools out of state. meanwhile everyone has f u n at the summer festivals, getting drunk, pretending that nothings wrong with this place.
lucky to live in NYC, theres a cool noise scene going on, as well as my neighborhoods small scene which is assorted punk bands. too many pretentious kids though in the wider scene
Any band in particular that sticks out to you?
Shot in the dark, Brattleboro?
This has to be New England.
Local scene is Journey covers. Anything worth mentioning happens over in Toronto.
Chicago. As healthy as any I'd say. Don't even know how to say what's most popular as pretty much everything is represented (It's probably hiphop though obv). My familiarity is mostly with punk and singer/songwriters, but I'm currently getting into the goth/darkwave stuff that's going on. In the currently gentrifying hoods (Humbolt Park and Mckinley Park) there's DIY spaces on like every block.
>doesnt know about the warehouse techno parties
oops
I live in Vancouver, and it's definitely the best music scene in all of canada. Torontofags dont @ me.
any Dallas or Austinfags here? Which has the better scene?
I've been wanting to find these lately. Please give deets in whatever way u feel comfortable
Evansville, IN has a really good underground scene. It's hard to get into since we have no venues and shows are basically just in empty houses. Lotta hardcore and metal bands. But here's a link to our really cool shoegaze band.

I just moved to Vancouver from a small town but I've been too busy with school to really go out and see shows. Looking to change that, where/who would you recommend I check out?
There’s mostly hardcore bands here on Long Island, but there’s a lotta little venues and what have you that differ a fair amount, I have lots of fun with the people I’ve met here :)
