you don't see a sad song in major scale do ya? but do you just write it in minor scale and call it a day? or do you mess around with your minor scale and find a great composition to drive your theme?
there's a simple minor scale song about how sad you are that your boo left you, and then there's an intricate choice in scale and progression to deliver a specific feeling pertaining to say,
a specific topic such as losing your loved one to a tragedy, the sadness you feel from it, the longing to hold them in your arms...etc.
