I think a lot of pop music is very well made. People will give it shit for being “simple with basic beat” but really the good stuff can have it’s subtly interesting bits; it’s just that pop is very good at delivering something in a streamlined manner with no filler bullshit, which is something you learn to appreciate more as you become a more mature/responsible person in life.

If crafting good pop songs was really that easy, everyone would be doing it due to the amount of money involved as crafting these “easy” pop songs would then theoretically be a lot easier and make a lot more money than whatever shitty job most of isn’t have.

This being said, I am not gonna lie that I was very much as insufferable about pop music as most users here are when I was their age.

I also can’t stand how lewronggeneration, out of touch, close minded, and artistically conservative this board tends to be because of its overt worship/memeing of older stuff instead of discussing the latest most interesting things happening in music. Like, I get it. You’re miserable. You’re not like other boys/girls. You find your escape in the old and already established things because the previous two make new things feel scary. But grow up.
