I love Get Innocuous don't get me wrong. The live version on Electric Lady is amazing when nancy comes in. And In concert it kicks ass. I don't hate Sound of Silver, I just prefer their other stuff more.

American Dream I will grant you as being potentially on par with Sound of Silver, but not the other three. Sound of Silver is near perfect start to finish, while the other two main albums have significant lulls- Pow Pow and Somebody's Calling Me on TIH, and the entire second half of disc 1 of the ST. Like yeah, ST is more varied but it's also twice as long and doesn't really justify that length. 45:33, while consistent, is much less varied than Sound of Silver and is clearly meant to be enjoyed as one song.

You're absolutely mad if you think Sound of Silver is the worst album they've done. The middle three songs alone blow anything on ST or TIH out of the water.

Well subjectively the emotional impact of TIH hits me more, especially with Home which I can connect to. Pow Pow is really cool, I get a kick out of it. All I want is a really harsh ballad, One Touch goes hard, and I Can Change is really sweet. As for ST I just enjoy the sort of raw and unbridled sound it carries on songs like Thrills, or On Repeat, or on Movement. Again, I like Sound Of Silver, I think objectively it deserves to be hailed as their best. But subjectively I don't enjoy listening to it as much.

Saw them live at Bill Graham in SF. Amazing concert, it rained afterwards which made it stand out even more!

You know I kind of get that actually. It's more consistent than the rest (maybe not 45:33 but that doesnt count). My largest criticism of TIH and ST is that the songs stand alone well but some don't mesh at all. Like Never As Tired after Movement. Or Pow Pow after You Wanted A Hit.
