Is there an album with better lyrics than this? It's so authentic. Each tracks tells something about Leonard Cohen. Some event/person/feeling in his life written in the most beautiful way. Bob Dylan gets close with Blood on the Tracks because it's actually about his life but I don't think he quite reaches the heights of this album.

Lyrically, Cohen may actually be the best (imo). I also love Townes, and John Darnielle for lyrics. Albums Townes live in Huston and Get Lonely. Get Lonely is a concept album that tells a story. Metaphors continue throughout the album. Really a feat of writing, imo.
