Agreed, it's like the Unknown Pleasures of hip hop aesthetically. The sparse, distant production is just tasteful as all hell and matches the subject matter flawlessly. The songwriting could be a bit sharper throughout but this might be Kanye's best produced album in execution. Maybe not his most explicitly dazzling work but perhaps his most artistically respectable.
