Elvis is too late to be an example of early rock & roll though. Harris on the other hand represents the transitional state from jump-blues to rock & roll.

That’s Alright is literally the first rock and roll record but okay

Nah, there are many earlier rock & roll recordings like Rock the Joint, Rocket 88 and Rock Around the Clock.
