I own a Japanese made Ibanez and it's miles ahead of every single guitar I own or have played. My MiUSA Tele feels like a cheap toy compared to it. MiJ > MiUSA
Luke Ramirez
>with a worse headstock Does it break as easily as Gibson's? I would imagine so. But I think it looks cool on Z's and balances its body perfectly. I hate little soistocks on big-bodies guitars, it looks pathetic.

Which model? Are RG550 Genesis worth the money? They look nice and are actually in my budget range, but used jap Ibbis usually go for half of that and I'm really torn.
It's a Kiko Loureiro signature model. So basically at the top of their line. Got it for less than half price from some dude on ebay who decided he didn't have room for it and sold it after playing it once or twice.
Andrew Jones
>buy a harley, and roll up to your local ducati owners club. watch for the people turning around to chuckle.
This is the best analogy for gibsons in the history of /gg/.
low quality, low performance, high price tag, used as fashion accessories instead of motorcycles, outdone in every niche by someone else
Your fellow rich people will mock you not as if you wasted your money but as if you are simply lesser for wanting to own one.

I just found a great progression while trying to figure out "It could happen to you". Check out how the first six bars are going up chromatically without the progression sounding off. Idk, I thought you might like that idea. Also, is it just me or is GP5's notation system weird as fuck?
A friend of mine is a Harley dude and swears by them. I told him I was looking at getting a Triumph and he went on a rant about how anything not a Harley is shit. Exactly how Gibson people are
Chase Phillips
Gibson knows their guitars are shit and the only thing they have is the looks. they're petrified that someone might decide to make Gibson clones that aren't garbage. at least Harley users know that they're just paying for a cool looking bike that turns gasolene into noise without the side effect of power
Charles Wright
>Harley has death wobble >Gibson has headstock break Pottery
>Ibanez: still making obvious fender clones I disagree. The neck on Ibanez guitars is way thinner, the tremolo system is completely different (either FR or Edge) and for the most part, Ibanez is using humbuckers way more often than the garden variety SSS setup on strats. I get where you're coming from with this but "clones" is way too harsh. They're spin-offs, at best.
Ryan Lopez
What will gibson do once the boomers die off? No one under the age of 70 gives a fuck about them
Blake Hill
>harley has death wobble >gibson has headstock break >remington has safeties that fail constantly boomers are cancer supporting cancer in every market

If it weren't Kiesel having ugly as sin headstocks I'd get one of these CS6 guitars in an instant. Is Kiesel the best bang for your buck in the guitar industry?
I'm just fuckin around with the harley thing, they can be okay. actually almost bought a sportster 1200 to replace my cbr600rr once I got tired of track days and being uncomfortable, but just sold the supersport and haven't got into bikes since. I rode my cbr600rr 700 miles in a day, twice, and at that point I was completely over supersports. These days I'd probably just get whatever cruiser is affordable, probably a victory, a triumph, or a used harley. going fast gets old, I just want to be a boomer before my time, cruising the mountain roads. Motorcycles are like most things, after a certain price point you really can't go wrong.
Buy PRS
Kayden Hernandez
Motorcycles in general are bad for long distance travel
good for skipping over barge/truck congested city traffic and parking wherever, assuming you aren't american >europe >yeah sure, go past, you deserve something in exchange for comfort and cargo space >yeah sure you can park there, that thing's tiny >america >get in line son >you gotta wait like everyone else >grow up and get a car
Jackson Reyes
I'm a burger unfortunately. I figure if I could do 700mi in a day on a supersport, long distances on a cruiser would be a breeze. I used to live in California which allows lane splitting, but was sketchy as fuck because it's full of beaners that don't know how to drive. I used to do all day rides on the regular though, a lot of laps on

Why do companies do this? What do they have to gain from forcing people to pay to learn their songs?

Charles Wright
Which corporation? UG?
Elijah Barnes
Yes, Polyphia is signed to Ultimate Guitar
Benjamin Morales

Jackson Fisher

Gavin Wright
Ultimate Guitar is one of the shittiest companies on earth and it's anyone's guess as to why they're still around. They're the greediest Jews out there and they constantly put enormous popups and ads to annoy you into buying their shit just to get rid of them. They shill their garbage app and everything and it's disgusting. Anyone that uses them over Songsterr for tabs needs to kill themselves.
I got a rg550 genesis and it was worth it. Paid $860 for it and I couldn't be happier.
Julian Brooks
how about G&L then instead of Ibanez
Jackson Allen
i was kidding about it being a badass sponsorship. but i didn't know about songsterr so thanks for the heads up. I remember UG back in the day before they sold the fuck out, it was a pretty comfy place
Michael Taylor
>it's anyone's guess as to why they're still around Because guitar players have an IQ of 60. It hurts me when people play three visible chords in a video and people ask for tabs.
Logan Garcia
youre such a faggot, just click x and the ad is done their website has a large catalogue of chords and tabs
Brandon Gutierrez
Can we all agree that Mario and Erick are currently the best soloists? Nobody can do it like them, so clean and playful and catchy. Their riffs might get bland and samey after a while of being around, but damn can they write solos
yeah they're definitely my favorites right now. they get a ton of hate in this general but i think chon is great over all, I was afraid they would fumble their new album but it turned out really really good desu

Yeah, it's pretty laughable when the top searched tabs are 3 chord pop songs.
And so does Songsterr, and they're usually more accurate and you can play along to them. There is no reason to still use UG for tabs in 2019 and beyond

regular burgers are made with that bread that resembles sweet bread, usually has more stuff like eggs and the cheese is mozzarella, and they dont use cheddar

Never played G&L, can't tell. But I remember a lot of small manufacturers got sued in the 70s for copying immense amounts of Fender's Strat and Tele designs (I think they even go by the name "lawsuit models"). So might just be that Fender had its lawsuit phase earlier than Gibson.

An ESP M-II. Probably with an EMG 89/89R set instead though.
Gibsons aren't good guitars. Hit and miss quality (down to the basics like PLAYING IN TUNE), rock n roll aesthetics (rock n roll was and is trash), not very versatile.
Say metalhead all you want but "metal" guitars look and play the part for jazz, blues, and even neo-soul. Guitars made for metal are made to be comfortable, capable, and versatile. If it can go from chungs to shred, turn the gain down and realize it's actually damn good for everything else.

Hahaha poor fags are so stupid.
>my modded Civic is better than your 911 >my modded Dean is better than your Gibson >My studio apartment with exposed brick walls is better than your $450k house ‘Mcmansions’ lmao And then you act like a sport bike is like a Harley. No, you faggots are buying cheap copies of Gibson and pretending your getting a better guitar. You’re not Ducati vs Harley. You bought a fucking Honda rebel 250 made in Taiwan with a lawn mower engine and then roll up to some guys talking about bikes and say ‘haha Harley’s are gay my Rebel goes 60 mph too’ and only costs $5k.
Ironically it THIS attitude is the boomer attitude. One that doesn’t care about quality, or US sourced goods, or ethical practice. It’s just GOTTA GET MY COST CO STUFF AND THINGS EXTRA CHEAP ON SALE LOOK AT THIS.
Buying cheap foreign copies of American shit is the reason you’re taking it up the ass in college debt instead of getting a house at 24 y.o and starting a family based off of one income at a factory. Boomerism is 100% based on pure consumerism without any respect for nation, family, God, or virtue.
This is why poor people are the worsts. They can’t see past acquiring cheap Chinese consumer goods, they can’t manage money for shit, they’re health is garbage, diets are mostly corn syrup and dog shit, and they then bitch all day about how evil expensive things are.
Sorry fags, just because you can’t afford something doesn’t mean it’s not good. BMW is expensive because it takes time and money to design suspension that’s fun to drive given the weight of the cars, because 12 speaker stereos cost more money to produce and develop then Suburu 2 speaker stereos. Transmissions that can handle 500 lbs/ft or torque require research and Toyota 4 speed slush box transmissions from 1999 dont. This is the curse of the poor and stupid. They’re too stupid to know they’re stupid and think consensus or popularity validated their opinions.
I own a Japanese made Ibanez. I have all the metal guitar I need. I've got the Tele, I've got an acoustic. I want a rock and roll meme machine now.

It's like they set out to make the most generic sounding song they could. It's like there's a challenge going on between these bands to see how can make the most boring and unoriginal song possible. Imagine listening to this because you actually think it sounds good.
Gabriel Morgan
Zoomers are retarded. Instagram is literally just the same neosoul lick over and over. The hairs on my back stand up when faggots call extensions 'jazzy' chords
Landon Lee
they also ripped off their logo from either watchdogs or dream theater, and I can't decide which is worse. I'd bet my life that behind these strong women, is a bunch of dudes writing their music, and they realized if they wrote anything even slightly harder than this, it would be unplayable for them. this is art
Jeremiah Campbell
nothin makes em jizz like adding a 7th bud. I just wish I could make music as good as these dudes
imagine unironically ripping off Gwen Stefani in the year of our lord 1950+69. This whole label might be the nastiest musical shit I've heard in a long long time
them badass chromatic quantized 16th note runs lmfao. who needs to know how to play when you have a DAW
Ryder Reed
I couldn't even get a minute in. Holy shit, zoomers and their music interests were a mistake. This is probably one of the worst things I've heard in a long time. It's just so souless and generic. Not a shred of originality to be found.
Brandon Brown
Female guitarists are super cringe anyway. Either some folk girl or something straight out of some trailer trash fantasy with leather pants and all that or for the current generation some reheated emo style shit.
Wyatt Garcia
try seriously, this is the worst one yet.
pic related is a pretty cool female guitarist when she isn't opening her mouth or playing with her band.
Yep, that's the worst one of them all. I actually started laughing at that disgusting bass "solo" at the beginning before that tranny sounding guy started whining.
The comments to the videos are the best part. People actually pretend to enjoy this stuff.
Austin Jackson
I honestly cant bring myself to believe there are actually human beings with ears that can hear this and think its good, they have got to be bots. How does this label exist? How do they make money off these garbagecore bands?
Aiden Wright
For the 1000th time >US labour cost more >Asian labour in these guitar factories is literally offensively poorly treated by 1850s European standards >Gibson/fender/PRS spends 14 days on paint and finish >world music guitars (Every brand that isn’t G/F/P, exception being Schecter and Dean USA marked guitars) does about 6 hours. >Gibson wood is aged properly as well as USA fender and PRS (memes Aside PRS has excellent wood) >WMG guitars come in and get used same day (watch Chapman video) leads to warping >frets are filed and polished but that takes time >WMG doesn’t do it >G/F/P use stainless steel >WMP uses chinesium metal that corrodes or breaks down, though probably after you lose interest because you’re mostly retards with short attention spans >G/F/P and SD use 80% copper wire >WMD uses 5-10% copper wire
Sorry. Everything about Gibson costs more money to make. Mark up on guitars is usually 50% across the board no matter the brand or price point.
There’s no fuckkng debate here. If you buy a MSRP $550 dean you bought a $375 guitar. If you buy a $2000 Gibson you bought a $1200 guitar. Nice guitars cost money to make. If you’re too stupid to see this I can’t fucking help you. If you want cheap metal, wet plywood. Shit wire, and a guitar that won’t last 2 years buy a fucking Dean. Just don’t pretend you bought a Gibson becuase the chinesium is shiny and your 50 pedals make the pickups sound tolerable. There’s way more to it and you’ll notice nobody here with money and brains is arguing that dean or Ibanez makes better guitars then Gibson.
Gibson = Ferrari Fender= Porsche PRS = Tesla
Dean and other WM brands: Civic with a body and a Ferrari badge
Who owns Ibanez? I don't know but I'm gonna group their Japanese made guitars in the same kinda tier as the USA made brands. The difference between their Japanese made guitars and their Indonesian ones is insane. I have both and the Indonesian one has sharp fret ends because the fret wire sticks out past the neck. It's like they didn't even look at the neck before shipping it out
covering a song and not the solo is the musical equivalent of watching your wife get fucked in public

Criminal law at first despite the lower pay. My career goal is to be an assistant US attorney and work in an attorney general office prosecuting federal crimes. I own a MiJ Ibanez, MiUSA Tele and a PRS SE made in Korea or something.

criminal law can make some fucking bank if you're on the defense end, people will pay a lot of money to not go to jail kek. I'm definitely thinking of a Paul Reed Smith, and not for any of the meme reasons like muh tonewood. I just think they're beautifully constructed, have amazing finishes, and are a quality instrument. They're expensive but they're everything I look for in a guitar so I think I can justify the price.
Camden Anderson
I think they know, but you'd be surprised what people will do for a paycheck, especially if they can get that check doing their hobby.
(then they use other strings as a fill on the repeat, quite a big mistake, keep your djonts low, bois)
You just don't understand the peak skill and songwriting crafting it takes to come up with these complex patterns dude, have some respect. You couldn't do that with a cheap Ibanez, you definitely need a Strandberg or a Blackmachine or Skervesen or something like that
Levi Bailey
that's nothing, check out this sick as FUCK pick scratch syncopated breakdown at a minute in
The other attorney plays dean given how much of a meltdown he had
Levi Sullivan
I often wonder about those kind of metal bands that consist of players 25+ that write this angsty shit. I already found this weird as a teenager. If the explanation is anything other than money in 100% of the cases then I don't know.
Asher Diaz
I'm meltdown attorney and I play PRS. is on the right track
Hunter Phillips
Does anyone have screenshots of this other attorney or have a link to the thread in the archive? I missed all of that
Josiah Wright
Oh no, I unironically like the 0:57 section Wonder what it sounds like when he's actually playing it though
Nathan Brown
the thing that blows my mind is that there's just no way these guys are actually making money here, I mean they get like zero views, but somehow are signed to a label? Wheres that user that was saying people who think the music industry is retarded just can't hack it, because I'd like to see this shit explained lmao
seriously? I can't stand it, harmonic pick scrapes have been done to fucking death. based on the way they had to quantize the tapping sections and STILL buried them in the mix, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it sounds like shit live
Samuel Rodriguez
actually I take it back, they're pretty tight live
still garbage ass music but atleast they can play their garbage music, props where props are due
Robert Phillips
The label pays them. It's why they sign to the label. The label at some point felt that they were worth signing and worth paying money. They could get zero views or a million views and the label will probably still pay them the same.
Gabriel Harris
Idk what you mean by that but Gibson’s are PLEKd and I doubt WMC are so unless some under paid 60 year old gook woman can out measure a computer with a laser you’re talking out your ass.
Speaking of "what's it sound like live" How come there are zero clips of the Berried Alive guy actually shredding and it's all just miming to super-edited final mixes and no one's called him out? I want to know what he actually sounds like. I bet he's still good, but that robot sound shit is dumb, can't believe people still eat it up
lmao, I like how the fast scratches are doubletracked on the song and live the main dude's definitely to the other guitarist like "don't bother bro, you know you're not good enough to sync this up live with me I'll just do it on my own"
One dude definitely has good technique though
Daniel Thomas
because it's almost entirely quantized MIDI tracks. Everyone figured this out a long time ago with Rings of Saturn recording at half speed, and Within the MIDI embarrassing themselves in public when their backing track got fucky. it was so embarrassing they deleted it
Joseph Lewis
Some people put out trash because it gives them something to play live, some are oblivious, some know what can draw a crowd, some are just trying to get recognized by any means necessary.
Daniel Hill
You realize he's just the mouthpiece? He's only saying what his bosses tell him to say.
Jackson Richardson
I actually think is pretty inoffensive in a party pop-rock kind of way, like those ALL ABOUT DAT LIFE boys that somehow managed to stir some shit by being wiggers. But is straight up archive music band that think they're hot shit for playing the most boring unimaginative stuff most people happily got over seven years ago. The only thing it lacks is pick-tapping all over the fretboard for that sick "we want to be the next Beneath the Massacre be we're too inept" vibe.
Jonathan Reyes
these drums are annoying
Isaac Scott
>so long as you realize you are buying an art piece and not magical tone parts And that's exactly why I want one. I know it's just wood and parts glued together, but they are put together beautifully, finished beautifully and I could just as easily hang it on my wall as play a song on it.
Luis Ward
That's exactly what a sell out is.
Colton Clark
They have several headstocks
Aaron Johnson
Label actually give them a Loan to record and In exchange owns the recording while the artist owns the rights to the song.
Angel Taylor
I know, but for their CS6 models they either have that abortion of a headstock in the pic, a slightly differnt 3x3 that looks the best out of their options, or their pointy ugly metal 3x3 options that look very out of place on a singlecut body
Joshua Ortiz
yep, which is why labels function as debt collectors to most of their small bands who won't be able to recoup recording costs from sales, streaming, and tours, because they ain't shit
Juan Rodriguez
I wouldn't have minded it so much if they hadn't done the gwen stefani ripoff, that shit is just absolutely mind blowingly cringe. I actually like attila, they're garbage but they have a much better sense of humor than these dudes, and their early music atleast is more interesting than these guys by far.
what said. labels actually don't really pay for anything, at all. most bands make money almost exclusively through merch sales. ticket costs cover travel maybe, the label foots the record and gets all the profit from that, and book the tours for the band so they get all the money from that as well. only the top top top artists actually get paid money just for being on a label, because when you're at the top you have options
Julian Ward
>PRS are nice guitars Except that unnecessarily massive neck heel.
Hunter Powell
which one
Alexander Price
That's called having a job.
Thomas Butler
Hey guys get a traditional dreadnought shape and give it a simple and effective cut out for reaching higher frets on the high E side and it ends with the fretboard
No, unless you work a shitty job where you're not allowed to be you're own person and can be replaced at the snap of the fingers. Especially if you build some kind of credability off your own merits then sell that to the highest bidder. Being a sell out isn't inherently a bad thing, if you care more about comfort or money than anything then go ahead and cash in.
Connor Jackson
I wonder who's the audience for stuff like this. I can only imagine it's music college kids that love soulless crap like snarky puppy and on the other hand completely oblivious normalfags. I'll have to go through the follows and comments tomorrow.
Gabriel Gutierrez
My first check out of school I bought a Gibson with a natural mahogany finish to 60s spec. I bought it because I loved the classic GM design styling. I ended up loving how it played and the ergonomics.
I almost bought PRS because I love the way they stain the wood. But I’m not Into Paul (hes nice in person, though interacts with anyone who wants to chat) or the way they play, relative to Gibson, but I like them better than fender.
There’s a good chance the guitar will probably sit around your office or something for a long time so get one that looks like you want.
Bentley Wright
That's 95% of jobs.
James Young
I come in here once a day to lmao @ poorfag copes. This is probably the best general on all of 4channel to consistently laugh at poorfags. >muh Ibanez >muh Dean >muh $300 Korean world music factory shitplanks I wonder if any of you retards have even the sack required to go to a music shop and touch the guitars you're too poor to buy. Goodnight, poorfags.
Heres a better protip: Dont be so good at your job that youre irreplaceable. Want to guess why?
Matthew Johnson
His will is broken
Mason Torres
what's wrong with their neck heels?
Cooper Scott
Ok what if i buy a 600 dollar guitar and put in close to 500 to upgrade it. Is it still a poorfag instrument?
Hunter Gutierrez
Do you guys hear that? Do you hear that tone? That's Namibian zebrawood that fused with Zimbabwean mahogany that a lion in the safari peed on when it was still a sapling. That makes the tone unlike anything you've ever heard and make it sustain longer. Trust me, bro. That will be 10k please.
Digits and Dean wins lawsuit and countersues Gibson and again wins putting gibson in more debt and forcing it to downsize more.
Isaiah Lee
Been there, done that. If they know what you're capable of they will give you all the shit jobs because they know you can do them and do them well. Never let them know how good you really are. Always hold back your power level.
David Ramirez
LET ME EXPLAIN WHAT TONEWOOD IS FOR EVERYONE WHO DOESNT KNOW. FIRST OFF HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED BASEBALL(Yes its relevant)?
Nathaniel Mitchell
What guitar is on the right? Looks fine. Set necks need a big heel like that. Their fault for not making them neck through instead.
Joseph Richardson
Yes
Anthony Roberts
And when you ask for a promotion to another position they will say no because what will they ever do without you in that other position because training doesnt exist
Eli Ward
And that's the fault of workers that accept the bare minimum because they can't get a job off their own merits as well as the companies that will gladly hire them to take advantage of the situation.
Jonathan Bailey
>Set necks need a big heel like that. No they don't. If it's not part of the joint physically attached to the body, there is literally no use for it. The other guitar is an Epiphone.
Eli Williams
My SE is somewhere between those two. Doesnt really bother me, although I do prefer a contoured heel
>soulless crap like snarky puppy Dude, comparing robo-midi shred to Snarky Puppy is ridiculous. I can understand being turned off by the air of snobbiness of their fan base, but those dudes write and play sincere good ass real music. Totally different things
Benjamin Young
My boss doesn't give me orders, I know what needs to be done when a job comes up. >go to worm tomorrow Are serious? It's saturday, they don't want to pay me double time(triple after 4 hours).
Tyler Martin

Ian Bailey
>stickers on a $2.2k guitar gooks need to stop, she probably can't even pronounce Mayer
Easton Bennett
I have an Ibanez with a Floyd ( it's actually their Edge Original, but same thing) and like all Ibanez guitars it's bolt on. It feels great, never had any issues.
Ibanez truly has mastered the bolt on with their all access joints. They're the standard of what a bolt on should be
Chase Turner
Yes. Have the lesson we rich fags have been trying to tell you is to manage your money better.
Imagine spending $30k upgrading a Honda Civic when you could have just bought a M2.
Even with the upgrades it’s the foundation that’s cheap from the start. Don’t spend $10k making a Suburu BRZ get 240 hp up from 200 when for $40k you could get a Porsche 911
Best you could come up with? I can see why you're aligned with these losers.
Justin Foster
extra money into something like one good plank for the neck wont get you good craftsmanship
a bad craftsman would turn it into junk a good craftsman can make three pieces of maple and a thin strip of rosewood left over from making fancier guitars into a neck worth more than the sum of its parts
Jacob Brown
>i rike Jon mayall Everything came out better than expected
they are fags, but they are skilled fags. I wish normie nogs and fags would listen to them instead of rap and hip hop trash.
I'd rather listen to Animals as leaders or plini though

>hey look at this fucktard guitar maker giving a shit about his job! what a dumbass!
Robert Flores
The civic would be a light weight purpose built track car and upgraded civics can easily cost more than a factory new porsche - with better craftsmanship and amazing options some marketong department would never suggest for mass production
The m2 is a heavy road car for hard parkers designed by a committee to be inoffensive and general-purpose
Dont make car analogies unless you know about cars
Gabriel Wood
Wow, that’s awful, how is my 63 SG so much better
Evan Smith
You responded, you involved yourself. Or are you afraid I'll hurt your anonymous credibility?
The mayer signature is so incredibly ugly, holy shit
Christian Long
It's not a contest, I'm just amazed how no one can take advantage of the real opportunites around them.
Anthony Price
Honestly this. Who here has ever made their own guitar? Who here has ever handled different woods and put them together to see how they play. PRS is a businessman first, he has to be to keep his company alive, but he's an artist as well and he genuinely tries to make the best guitars in the world. He's a complete asshole and would be impossible to talk to without you wanting to punch him in the face, but he's passionate about making the best guitars.
Easton Murphy
>SG Sure It's not a Dean? I mean, they are so similar it can be hard to tell with the naked eye.
Kayden Sanders
Reminder gibson uses richlite, a man made material, on multi thousand dollar guitars
Oliver Taylor
Gibson owners dont understand passion so they’d get the M2 every time
BMW = NPC car Les Paul = NPC Guitar
Cooper Anderson
I swear Paul did it on purpose just to piss people off that wanted it so much and kept pestering him about it. And he's laughing all the way to the bank knowing retards still buy it
Kevin Jackson
I get whataburger that looks better, most likely tastes better too
Matthew Cooper
Why would he yell the truth and ruin his business?
>wood affects the amplified sound less than how it was built >oh ok ill pay $5000 less for the maple/oak one
Nathan Ward
get a PRS, fag
Hudson Ross
they all look good
Jace Johnson
He knows exactly what he's doing. There will always be boomers in their 40's who get a PRS because of muh tonewood. But there will also be those guys who know that he makes good instruments
Cooper Adams
I have had an $800 schecter that was an absolute joke. Every winter the fret board would get dead spots from 7th fret on up. Literally unplayable.
$800 fucking dollars and shit frets, shit electronics, shit neck. I had an excellent Schecter bass for a long while though. But that’s the thing with cheap ass mystery metal and wood. It all looks shiny in the store and you don’t find out how shit it is until way later.
If i ever buy another guitar it would be a custom shop Gibson or Taylor. They’re super well made. Schecter no. Schecter USA? Very good, but now you’re in the Gibson bracket. I also like their USA pick ups, but keep in mind pick ups don’t need replaced on US guitars and it’s a waste on Gook shit.
Zachary Torres
Imagine having to work closely with paul every day and hearing him talk about this boomer voodoo 24/7
Based whataburger bro. Enjoy it while you can my guy, they just sold the company to some fucking Jews in Chicago. It's a bad feeling knowing I will see whataburger go down the shitter in my life time.
Joseph Cook
Imagine how McDonalds fags felt decades ago.
Jaxon Walker
And who says people here havent? You claim im a day laborer and im ok with that i never correct you but if you knew more about my job and what ive done through proving my worth as a man through work you would im sure you would be at least mildly impressed it gave me great opportunities to advance myself and those around me But then again youre probably a neet with no sense of personal spirituality thus you have no morals and convictions you find true. Praying to god doesnt work but using his formulas, laws, and tools bestowed upon you is what will increase.your momentum and vibration on this plane. God is good..do good actions and youre a good person and good things happen. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law. Love is the law. Love under will
Checked. Digits dont lie, buy a PRS. They are the best guitars at every price point they offer.
Josiah Hall
You’re setting yourself up for disappointment. Gibson is like korean schecter. Lottery QC. My $500 schecter was fine though, except for the truss rod rod nut half being off.
>pups dont need replaced I like actives but i dont always like the guitars they come with.
Wyatt Ortiz
Thats the problem with gibson. Its not consistent and for what you pay its not acceptable. Fender fixed that for their company a long time ago they were riddled with production qc problems too. Thats why theres strats that have sunburst under a solid color. Personally i think gibson should open up its own music store wheres its a dedicated service and sales shop. And then offer warranties of some kind. So if you do get a dud you take it in get it fixed and come out not hating the company.
There's this one REALLY fucking annoying emo hot topic bitch called SpinnerWeb who posts on every other news article and people ALWAYS upvote the shit she says like it's super insightful or whatever. Love the site itself (with AdBlock) but man the community fucking sucks.
Evan Hall
Bolts are cheaper, floyds are gay and usually really cheap and bad. Thru is the best because one piece of wood, set is second best, bolt is worst.
Bolt is worst because 1. Usually blocky and uncomfortable 2. The bolts allow for small movement which makes things move ever so much but it makes things go out of tune.
That’s why Fender can make Strats Cheaper than Gibson. I think PRS also charges less for S2? I’m not an expert in that. Gibson doesn’t do it except on rare cases but usually they’re cheaper as well.
Sound wise it doesn’t matter. (TOAN NECK JOINTS) More bolts is better and tighter is better.
Also, becuase we’re talking about it and I’ve stilled for Gibson all day:
Gibson’s have a high angle headstock where the Truss rod is which means there’s a spot where there’s only 1-2nm of wood and this is the source of the breaking under high stress
Dominic Cooper
Man-made material does not equal bad Natural woods are antiquated at this point, we're all just drawn to tradition They should all be using Arium, a material crafted to be as resonant as possible
David Reyes
>i played a shitty Gibson at GC >therefore, every Gibson has bad QC! Time to go re-take math bucko
Blake Torres
And tradition and original spec is gibsons business plan. If you want to see real autists using the best materials wood or not look up the actual best guitar brand. They were ex aerospace engineers and decided to male a great guitar. The name? Adamas. Ovations big bro.
Gavin Kelly
Yeah I had a $1000 Korean Schecter, it was trash dude They're going downhill lately
Nicholas Gutierrez
Ive played great ones. And ive played bad ones. For a company trying to look prestigious and for that price its not right.
Nathan Collins
this. I can pick up any PRS and it will play and sound the way it's price demands. Gibson? Maybe, maybe not, and that's a game for $700 guitars, not top end
Mason Cruz
What is it about PRS that sets them apart from Gibson so much? What are they doing differently that Gibson isn't?
Sebastian Foster
They actually put their guitars together like they give a shit
Elijah Evans
Calm down bitch, if that's the best option you have and you're making the best of it and making something of yourself then good on you. Please don't act like it's the end of the road though, there's more to life than slaving away for crumbs. We all start somewhere dude, but don't get comfortable with where you're at. There's tons of options out there, shit that doesn't require years of schooling and debt to achieve.
So these korean guitars are all made in the same factory but its not the same workers or foreman for every brand. The brands then specify what kind of work they need done and what to focus on. For some brands like schecter the workers are instructed to make the guitars as pretty as possible and thats priority over fretwork. Then when the brand recieves.it over in the states (schecter dean and i believe ltd) in their hq they then get polished up and fix any frets or small setup issues.
Nathan Smith
I don't get the Gibson hate. The whole guitar/amp/pedal industry is about copying others, adding some meme feature (or removing meme features), trying to find the poorest chinks to produce said product, and markethype through Youtube jew-celebs.
This whole industry sucks. If I had unlimited money, I'd buy every garbage guitar/amp/pedal and just burn them all. I'd pay guitar companies to stop making guitars and lobby our government to bomb these rice factories that churn out these garbage guitars. I'd subvert universities and teach them that guitar e-celeb channels are dogwhistles for white supremacy so that it eventually gets to the Youtube CEO and that dumb SJWhore can ban all of these terrible channels.
(I own an Ibanez Artcore from 2004 that is my favorite guitar lmao)
t. Ricknebacker fanboi
Brandon Murphy
>FWD >purpose built track car
Just kill yourself poor fag. I’m not going to explain physics to you either
Xavier Ramirez
>implying there aren't FWD track cars you clearly have no idea about cars. this is a guitar thread.
Robert Kelly
Turns out responsible ethics sourcing of materials is expensive. Not something a lawyer or a poor would understand.
Lincoln Lopez
It's because Gibson are assholes about it because they think they're superior despite making an inferior product. Fender is ripped off just as much but they don't get autistic about it like Gibson. Gibson is so close to failing and fucking off for good, I can't wait.
Brandon Wood
just kill that thing
Easton Scott
FWD>RWD on the track. Why would you NOT put your biggest source of weight on top of the wheels that receive power? Wheelies are sick but they don't make you go faster through turns, the only downsides to FWD on the track is oversteer, which is removed in modern cars through torque vectoring or not being a shitty driver. I bet you play
Aaron Brown
>Civic the mass market FWD economy car is passionate race car >M2, a low sales streetable track car feautured in the Nurburgring 24 hour race tomorrow is a passionless car made for the masses
Never said this job was my lifes only ambition. Im saving up on the side to buy good but pricier powertools so i can begin guitar building. A planer, band saw, drill press are amongst the shortlist.
Henry Lee
I agree because he always said he didn’t want to do it, and this is the best way to shut up normies while making the especially stupid ones pay big bucks for a strat
Liam Evans
the M2 literally got beat in the nurburgring by a civic type R by 8 seconds, while costing 20k less.
you have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to cars. this is a guitar thread
Mason Moore
kek I take that back, the OLD type R would beat if by 8 seconds, the new one beats the M2 by 15. that's embarassing as fuck for BMW
Jason Carter
For me? I need the best tone and that means the best tone wood. Think about how big Back In Black would have been if it had been recorded with cocobolo instead of mahogany
Buy used, get the planer blades sharpened if you do. Honestly though it'd be cheaper short term to use s4s lumber til you get a couple sold the use your profit to buy machinery. You're the cali dude, right? Get some mexican dude to airbrush that shit up nice so you can make something really cool and not have to worry about resawing a veneer. Smokes, a 6 pack and pay for the paint of course.
Michael Cooper
Out of curiosity: what percentage of you guys can play barre chords?
I always assumed it was something every decent guitar played knew how to do but I’m now realizing there’s a lot of people out there who just never learned and only play power chords.
Christian Ward
If you're a serious guitarist and can't play barre chords then you need to kill yourself. If you've been playing guitar for over a year and can't barre all six strings across the first fret with your pinky then you need to reevaluate your practicing and playing. Guitarists that don't use their pinkies are fucking trash and should be forced to return their guitars back to the manufacturer.
Evan Reyes
bar chords? like just sticking your fucking finger over all the strings? People struggle with this? For real?
Camden Evans
According to our resident autist my first guitar was a gibson. Its really a gibson-baldwin plywood lp with 2 knobs that said epoch on the headstock. Bolt on too. I have a les paul standard set aside for me by my homegirls dad that will be mine when he dies but the deal is she gets one guitar and i get the other. But i think im going to go for the 90s american bc rich rich bich with fine tuners.
Zachary Morgan
Yeah imma go used.
Wyatt Hughes
I refuse to believe that guitarists can not play barre chords after their first 6 months to a year of playing.
Dominic Morales
Playing guitar has fixed my sitting posture Thank you guitar
Isaac Lee
I agree.
Yeah, I guess so. I’ve just noticed I’ve seen an astounding number of guitarists never play a barre chord and it’s sort of apparent from talking to them (i.e., talking about progressions that make no sense, never specifying whether a chord is major or minor [‘Yeah this is c a f g’]).
Carson Hernandez
I refuse to believe it past a few weeks, that's some of like the very first shit to learn
I mean I literally don't know what the name is of any given chord I'm playing and I can play bar chords, in fact I use them a lot because they're so easy
Ian Young
You don’t know the difference between a minor and major chord lol?
Adam Stewart
It's actually completely fucked mine. I always hunch over my guitar when I play sitting.
Gavin Robinson
All these metal guitar companies propped up by one or two metal artists are sad. >ESP: Metallica >dean: Dave Mustaine >music man: John Petrucci >Schecter: Ax7 >Ibanez: those two old fags
When you consider how old all those guys are getting you should start to panic for those shit brands. Schecter Atleast has the sense to invest into US production and custom shop work.
Once 30 y.o boomers and Brazilians stop trying to become metal guitar heroes they will probably all fold because while the big 2 and PRShit make versatile guitars that make sense in church and for a metal act nobody is going to be using a fucking Dime bag tributr signature.
Musicman may be able to transition the JP models into a les Paul type of thing given how nice they are for most types of music. Thé scooped body, ergonomic knob placement, solo button, and all that is a unique and practical take on guitar design that is basically non-existent in the industry outside of PRS and that Swedish company that makes the fan fretted weird looking guitars.
The rest of these companies are all the same fucking factory making the same rip off Shapes for a smaller and smaller market. Who’s going to want all the dime bag artist models ? Does ANYONE like pantera enough in 2019 to spend money on one trick poney guitar like that?
Gibson’s problem of all these copy cat companies will solve itself in 10 years when metal becomes as irrelevant as surf music
Parker Young
If you can't fucking hear the difference then you need to be tossed in an oven
Anthony Wright
If you can't play barre chords you've never practiced them. I can barre an open g and c chord shape no problem.
This, I learned them like 6 months in, took me like 4 months to be able to pull off E and A shapes fairly consistently.
Christopher Jones
I can tell by ear, by if you were like "yeah just play an Amaj7" it would take me a bit to figure out where the fuck A is on the fretboard. My technical skills vs applied theory is absolutely embarassing. Can play Necrophagist and CHON, don't know where the notes are on the fretboard.
Adam Taylor
Ibanez has loads though. You're right about all the others but Ibanez actually has many big names that swear by them. >Steve Vai >Joe Satriani >Paul Gilbert >Kiko Loureiro >That chinaman from the videogame metal band
Kevin Hill
Aside from the literally you the last time one of them was at all relevant was 12 years ago. Can't speak for Kiko Alonso.
Nolan Jackson
He's the lead guitarist of Megadeth, definitely a big deal in the metal world. He's from Brazil so South American beaners absolutely worship him
Asher Martinez
It’s not just guitars where one guy makes a great product then 10 other companies copy the same thing.
Drugs like rivaroxiban have 10 other copies all doing the same thing.
Cars? Thé M division now competes with the RS division, N division, F division, AMG, Cadillac V division, toyota GR division, etc. Even movie studios. Pixar works on a movie about bugs, A bugs life and dreamworks makes Antz. Finding Nemo? A sharks tale.
Nirvana got big? Sign pearljam. Woah Green Day is popular let’s sogn Blink 182, Sum 41. And we will even mke our own like Good Charlotte and Sinple Plan. Welcome to consumerism
Bentley Harris
>accelerate >weight moves to rear wheels >oops my car is FWD so my driven wheels have no traction when I push the gas
Josiah Gonzalez
Megadeth is the least relevant act on your list but I get the point you're making. Hooe Dave makes it though his cancer.
Zachary Williams
I've actually been to the nurburgring a total of five times. FWD cars destroy RWD babbies any time it rains and have a slight edge when the pavement is still cold in the morning
>WELL IN MY IDEAL ENVIRONMENT WITH A PREPPED SURFACE lmao might as well ride a motorcycle
Cameron Anderson
you seriously can't be this retarded. FWD cars have MORE traction, especially at launch, because the heaviest parts possible are entirely weighed on the wheels receiving power, even under acceleration the tires receiving power also control the cars direction, allowing for easier acceleration through turns. RDW cars spin the wheels at launch because there's very little weight on the tires receiving power, and understeer in turns because they're pushing essentially rudders several feet in front of the power. There's your free lesson for today. Now I'm your dad. You'll be able to tell, I'll be the guy fucking your mom tonight.
Mason Morales
ESP is ~the~ domestic Jap brand at least and ibanez is staying relevant with their flatter, wider shit that makes guitars more playable than ye olde fender rhythm guitar (7.5" radius son, how else are ya gonna play that damn g7 chord)
I wouldn't even call them a shit metal company as much as I'd call them Japan's Fender, like you'd call fender a shitty dadrock company. ESP is the only foreign brand that's really worth a damn anymore. Everyone else is dead, a small custom shop, or almost entirely contracted out to indonesia.
Strandberg even died, somehow. Who thought it was a good idea to build hype guitars in a factory where the same workers make shit to a low price point thirty minutes before they work on the strandberg? Who knows. Who thought it was a good idea to make your high end line with a renowned Japanese luthier and then refuse to expert? Who knows. Who thought it was a good idea to flip the bird to ALL US production after having problems with just one shop? Who knows. Who thought it was a good idea to stop making a swedish guitar in sweden? Who fucking knows.
If you ever start a guitar company do the opposite of what strandberg did.
Gabriel Davis
Absolutely embarrassing indeed. Can't believe you actually admitted to not knowing the fretboard when it's literally babytier to learn
Andrew Jenkins
>race prepped Civic type r prototype with roll cage and stripped interior and SC2 Vs >stock M2 with all season run flats and a 130 mph speed limiter
Woah user, I guess you’re right
Gavin Watson
redpill me on the strandberg shit, I'm guessing their meme marketing worked and a ton of people bought them so they immediately outsourced their construction and it all went to shit?
Leo Adams
i find it entertaining that schecter, once considered such a shit brand people thought their real maple veneers were stickers until proven otherwise, is now more reputable than the memey swedes that promised to "solve guitars" as long as you stay away from the PRS-looking diamond series ones they make in korea (nice of them to differentiate their beginner-tier equipment by making it look dramatically different).
Angel Robinson
>race prepped it was a production car. the 50k M2, got outraced by a 35k honda.
and the race prepped one would be faster still, lmao
Nolan Thomas
You're not wrong, but I just use tabs and frankly never really had a reason to, and still don't. I played tuba for about 6 years, so I can read bass cleff and I understand basic theory, but I've just really never had a reason to be fucked with learning the fretboard and chord construction/identification. On a technical level I'm still bretty gud so it doesn't really bother me
Brody Edwards
Swedish production stopped entirely. Profit margins too small. Couldn't keep up with orders. US production went the same way. And the first shop they contracted was gibson-tier which left a sour taste in their mouths. They always made the mass market models in Korea but have recently added China to their list. They opened up production in Japan with a very reputable luthier, but because of profit margins, don't want to bother with exports. If you can buy a nice example of one of these used go ahead, but they're snowflake guitars so buy and then return a korean/chinese one from guitar center using that nice 60 day policy they have.
John Allen
Dude, they get paid to play Ibanez. Ibanez is literally famous for the ‘lawsuit’ guitars, aka rip offs. Then in the 80s they picked out Vai Satriani ans and a few other literal who’s and 2 got big.
Schecter has like 59 artists and only the Cure and Ax7 are worth anything. At this point the cure are basically mad Fender and Gibson wouldn’t pay them to play their shit. They used all Jags, firebirds and ES before.
Ibanez atleast acknowledged they were scammers settled with the big boys and found a niche.
Schecter USA has always been a strat mod company. The diamond series stuff is hurting a good brand.
Julian Phillips
kek, fucking swedes. That sucks, I've never ever been interested in buying one, I just remember the initial hype behind them, and vaguely remember something about the wait times being immense. such a shame.
oh great, dr. faggot is back
Benjamin Richardson
I know they do, and it's smart of Ibanez to find big names and endorse them. Those guys all have huge fanbases and will bring in loads of sales from people who like their music. It's smart business
Noah Gutierrez
Is that why F1, Indy, P1, GT3 are all RWD? You better call up McLaren and Williams and let them know they could get an edge on Mercdedes if they switched to FWD.
Moron.
And touristFahrt is not a useful measure because all the people on it are noobs. I’ve smoke lambos in my 335i, it doesn’t mean the 335i is a faster car, it means I had cheap car and way more track time.
Nathan Young
Is this new Dorje?
Ryder Hughes
Fuck off to /o/, nerds
Kevin Bell
>The new lap record holder is described by Honda as being a development model with technical specifications representative of the final car
Eye roll. Poor people are so gullible
Wyatt Bailey
F1 >RDW, rear mounted engine P1 >RDW, rear to mid mount engine GT3 >RDW, rear mounted engine civic >FWD, front mount engine Thanks for agreeing with me, fucking idiot
Daniel Russell
ESP makes its fair share of rip offs but has a history as a custom shop that justifies it, as custom shops are known for making things like the strat fender wouldn't. This is why they do not get sued. If you buy something like a snapper, this is explained in the product description. They do not try to pass it off as their original design but as a custom shop guitar based off someone else's. And they do make a number of original body shapes as well.
On the other hand, Dean tried to pass their shit off as original for years, based their headstock off the body shape they pretty blatantly stole, makes ONE well knownoriginal body shape that is actually two gibson body shapes layed on top of each other, another that's pretty much the same (explorer+lp), and is on record as getting their start through industrial espionage 100% targeted at nearby gibson manufacturing. This is why they are getting sued. This is why, with oodles of different brands saying "this is our version of the les paul, this is our version of the explorer", only Dean is getting sued. Out of righteous anger.
Liam Campbell
ESP did get sued but they promptly complied and changed the shapes a little
It was also more understandable because they were japanese and didn't really see the big deal to begin wtih
