Worst year of music ever

keeping real rock alive bro! \m/(>.
fuck NIGOR
this i guess haven't head any album this year that I liked
Some legit jams. Honestly I don't keep up with new releases though.
somehow its still this,
Chi Factory or Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement
I DONT CARE ABOUT THIS ALBUM
28 minutes of zach hill getting a stroke
Weyes Blood by a mile.
The only other album i've enjoyed is Fontaines D.C.
Looking forward to The Murder Capital.
This is just Anne Murray for art hoes
yandhi
The new Blanck Mass
That's it
I'm pretty excited for the new Tame Impala album
Only good album so far was the Callous Daoboys - Die on Mars,
Did Igor ever get released on CD?
Only vinyl
Gold & Grey
Damn, I hope he drops it on compact soon.
the new Caretaker by a mile
fuck no
respectable but no thanks
not even going to release this decade
Why are dudes so shit at music this year?
1. Kelsey Lu - Blood
2. Jamila Woods - Legacy! Legacy!
3. Jessica Pratt - Quiet Signs
4. Weyes Blood - Titanic Rising
5. Tyler, The Creator - IGOR
Jessica Pratt was fav until pic dropped
This shit will remain underrated the whole year
I havn't listened to a single new album in the last two years
yikes
My pick as well.
is this any relation to Wise Blood?
Kenny Segal is one of the best out there, gets no respect for how he quantizes his beats.
AOTY
This year's been fairly shit but we've got a few gems i guess. Loved this one since it came out.
This is my favorite so far but i’m still hyped for WLR and EA
these

Better than Front Line Assembly's 2019 album
2018 was the best in a long time, and now we have this bullshit
finally this
Only albums I heard so far that I liked start to finish
There was a good EP tho
kys
I'm listening to this now and it's so weird. I love all of the songs but they're fucking annoying at the same time somehow
If you like this album plz neck yourself that isn’t music
the most recent album i've listened to is from 2017 and the second most recent album i've listened to is from like 2013
it's hard to find good rock albums that i enjoy nowadays
yikes
I like it
Cringe
Not ironic.
people have been shitting on this and not even giving it a chance. I think it's actually pretty good, not quite my favorite though
agreed
>in a long time
>forgetting that massive influx of god-tier music in 2015
what happened in 2018 and 2015
im a rockfag and normally listen to older, often obscure-ish shit so i dont keep very good track of Current Music Trends
I've listened to this an unhealthy amount of times, I'm surprised people were let down by it
2015 was the vaporwave's peak in both quality (see ITLLT, one of the best in the genre) and its influences (see Oblivion Access, No Now, etc), along with it being the year many big name albums came out (see TPTB, TPAB, Vulnicura). it also saw the release of Departure Songs the literal greatest post-rock record of all time
also obligatory Undertale OST
Persona hands down. Been a Death Grips fag for a hot minute and this scratches the itch they do while hitting it from different angles.
Shake starts the record like an absolute madman with
>1. Madman
the fucking bill hicks sample gets me every time. first listen it hit from fucking left field.
youtube.com
>2. Ascension
Makes me think shakiepoo probably smoked dmt a little young and had a hard time dealing with cowtown dipfucks
youtube.com
>3. Tard Alarm
the samples in this slut are retarded. a main constituent of the hook is some cunt screaming "NIGGERFAGGOT", meanwhile most of the instrumental is the looped sound of a dog being boiled alive
youtube.com
>4. Nothingness Friends
hyperdimensional entities feat Fantano & McKenna samples
youtube.com
>5. Simple
feels like a lost NLDW demo feat 1999 Corey Taylor
youtube.com
>6. ICU
samples carl jung and is walls of fuck
youtube.com
>7. Drop
it sampled a fan sending in the sound of a printer or tractor or some shit
youtube.com
>made a W@W zombies map w the album on an inmap jukebox instead of music videos
literally who
youtube.com
maybe explore other genres?
all of the caretakers stuff sounds the same
>posts the most unique Caretaker album
>"b-b-b-but it all sounds the same :(((((((("
pic is loosely in order of enjoyment
still havent gotten around to listening to this yet
This is mine
ah, i see. thanks for explaining.
i mainly just listen to rock music, traditional folk music, and old blues music, so i don't tend to pay much attention to musical trends.
i might check out Departure Songs because i've never listened to any post-rock before and it sounds potentially interesting.
absolutely this
you havent listened to it have you?
Great album, Tyler FINALLY made something actually worth listening to. By my AOTY so far is still Steve Lacy's Apollo XII. Funky, catchy yet very original and fresh, the excellent delivery makes up for the sometimes mediocre lyrics. There hasn't been a single thread about it since its release, as expected from nu/mu/
hmm.
Not much from this year has actually caught my interest casually, and I've been too busy with other things in life to review 500 albums a year like I used to.
As a fan mostly of industrial, electronics, ambients, hardcore and math, it feels like my side of music just hasn't been very strong in recent years anyways.
The only things I've heard this year that I've liked are Zuu and Igor.
looking forward to part 2
FPBP
Hahahahahhahahaha this taste
FlyLo's worst for sure. Until The Quiet Comes, his actual best work, got robbed in comparison
There's gonna be a Part 2? Fuck yea, I love this album, the first 5 tracks are just one banger after another
This is incredibly good
>OMG he doesn't have the exact same favorite album from the year so far as me
Fuck right off. People constantly say this about whatever year they're currently in. Lots of good shit so far.
I don't think this year has been THAT good in terms of music so far, but this is probably my favorite
The intro blew me away when I first heard it tbchwyf
It's properly rated. It's worse than their last 2, which were only good but but exactly spectacular.

Favorite song?
For me it’s progably ruins
Why even post these responses?
Why even post this response?
Imagine not being able to appreciate fucking Matmos.
I assume by the cover art that this is definitely going to be AOTY and possibly AOTD.
Why did you give your opinion on what’s my favorite about of the year?
easily pic related, nothing else has impressed me as much as this in 2019.
It would appear getting #MeToo'd has only enhanced Ducktails power
I haven't heard a single album I would rate higher than 7/10
ZUU
Probably this still
LONG LIVE MEXICO
>long live mexico
>made by a black
disgusting
this
It’s quite good. I’d say it’s this year’s Die Lit
Alright, I'm just mad at all these dumb
hood ghetto negros like 6ix9ine pretending to be mexican
hell yes

probably this, I'm just listening whatever's popular tho, but in terms of high-profile releases this year's been pretty meh so far. This one's packed with good jams
The National are my favorite band ever, and I liked each new album by them more than the last, but this one's a dud honestly. I only want to really hear Quiet Light, Where Is Her Head and Rylan after like 10 listens.
no
Best rock album of 2019 so far. Might be beat by Highly Suspect's upcoming album though if everything builds up right.
I think I might be in the same boat as you. It has a lot of really good collaborations and a lot of the shorter instrumental cuts seem a bit more funk-oriented in past releases. I can understand the criticism of it not being as experimental or original as his other releases but on a pure enjoyability level I still like it more than Until The Quiet Comes personally.
lol i thot this was black eyed peas . . .
I unironically really liked the most recent black eyed peas album, especially the track with phife
Black Midi
That came out over 2 years ago, satan
Pic related for me. I haven't listened to these other albums except OP but I didn't like IGOR that much. I thought the beats and production. His raps are alright but sonically it's a mess.
Well produced and an overall decent album, but not really aoty material in my opinion.
This was their worst album ever, a chore from start to finish.
Simply average.
I don't remember anything about this. I've listened to it twice and it's like I never did.
First half is just banger after banger, then it slows down considerably, but it's still the best pop punk 2019 offered. Good taste.
hip hop is gay
Igor came out a couple weeks after my first break up after a relationship of 6 years
i connect with the album a ton but am probably gonna hate it after i get through this period in my life
fuck off tranny
yandhi's not coming so I guess this bitch is the one I'm waiting for
Yeah this is up there for me. Surprised it hasn’t gotten more attention on here.

hyped for this
His weakest project to date but still a 8.5/10 from me.
I think flying lotus just has so much potential its disappointing to hear him put out a project like this. It's a good album, but he's really in a league of his own when it comes to experimental production that remains listenable. He could easily make a gamechanging record (arguably Los Angeles or Cosmogramma were but even more so), but this isn't it.
Xiu Xiu - Girl With Basket of Fruit
also Igor? more like I-SNORE

forgot carly, Jnew and Grimes boi
>100 gecs
Are you faggots ready to admit brokeNCYDE was ahead of their time?
got a rym?
I do but I don't use it for ratings, just as a database
I'd go for either It's Raining Somewhere Else or Death by Glamour
