Why do rap fans call people who don't like the genre 'classist' when they relentlessly bitch about metal, a genre made by working class Northerners?

I like rap and metal.

I don't like either but I prefer hip hop to most metal

Why do you make up imaginary things that people who listen to a genre you don’t like do? Rap fans don’t give a shit about metal.
S*ge and move on

because you're an american and unable to view things outside your shallow understanding of politics

I'm a working class northerner and I like rap and metal. In fact I can show you some working class northerner rap sampling working class northerner metal that I listen to in my working class northerner apartment.

t. northerner metal rapist

>refers to people who live in the north of England as 'Northerners'
>american
Uh...

he was talking about metal so obviously "northerners" wouldn't refer to brits

just kys

black sabbath wasn't from the north of england, so the only reasonable north he could be referring to is the north of europe

all the working class metal bands are awful though
go home chad nickleback fan

Based George

>the midlands
>northern

niggers don't know what classism is but nice bait

Nu metal (also known as nü-metal and aggro-metal) is a subgenre of alternative metal that combines elements of heavy metal music with elements of other music genres such as hip hop, alternative rock, funk, industrial, and grunge. Nu metal bands have drawn elements and influences from a variety of musical styles, including multiple genres of heavy metal. Nu metal rarely features guitar solos; the genre is heavily syncopated and based on guitar riffs. Many nu metal guitarists use seven-string guitars that are down-tuned to play a heavier sound. DJs are occasionally featured in nu metal to provide instrumentation such as sampling, turntable scratching and electronic backgrounds. Vocal styles in nu metal include singing, rapping, screaming and growling. Nu metal is one of the key genres of the new wave of American heavy metal.

Nu metal became popular in the late 1990s with bands and artists such as Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Kid Rock all releasing albums that sold millions of copies. Nu metal's popularity continued during the early 2000s, with bands such as Papa Roach, Staind, and P.O.D. all selling multi-platinum albums, and came to a peak with Linkin Park's diamond-selling album Hybrid Theory. However, by the mid-2000s, the oversaturation of bands combined with the under-performance of a number of high-profile releases led to nu metal's decline, leading to the rise of metalcore and many nu metal bands disbanding or abandoning their established sound in favor of other genres.

During the 2010s, there has been a minor nu metal revival; many bands that combine nu metal with other genres (for example, metalcore) emerged and some nu metal bands from the 1990s and early 2000s returned to the nu metal sound.

u sound like a fag

Are you retarded? I mean, absolute pants-on-head fucking r e t a r d e d? Brits invented metal.
Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Rainbow, Motorhead, and Venom are all British.

black sabbath is the only band out of those that did anything new

So you've never been to Birmingham?

no but any map will tell you it's not in the north of englad

Are you deaf, mate?

aside from sabbath who were the first to introduce heavy metal sound to their hard rock, the other bands you mentioned are all thrash/heavy bandwagoners, aside from Rainbow which is just a cheesy hard rock band

Have you not been to Britain? By this logic you count Manchester and Liverpool as being in the Midlands?
Not that that's relevant to what 'Northern' England is.

you can't just change geography to fit your narrative. are you some SJW that you think you can just ignore facts when they don't suit your feelings?

Metal as we know it today would not exist without Motorhead, Priest, Maiden, and Venom. The new wave of British heavy metal is the foundation of every modern metal genre. Black, death, thrash, and every other subgenre besides doom can all be traced back to those bands.
Learn your history before getting into arguments with people.
Also, learn to reply.

I've never heard a rap fan bitching about metal. I also know a lot of people who like both.

Outside of Liverpool and Manchester "Northern" doesn't mean working class

lmao, the "new" wave of british heavy metal was mostly bandwagoning but brit magazines with NME syndrome had to come up with something to make it seem like the UK had some relevance left, even though the US and the rest of europe were the ones developing metal from where Sabbath left off

I agree about the term, but you can't attack the bands for that. Extreme metal would not exist without Motorhead and Venom.

Facts aren't being ignored, you're just a typical American - incapable of understanding nuance.
Being a 'Northerner' relies heavily on the the industry, and attention from Parliament, of the city you grew up in. Cities in the North of England share a great deal of similarities - hence the term.
It's not just about the actual location on a map you cretin.

Tony Iommi was a factory worker that lost his finger through the labour.

The hypocrisy is ludicrous.
Probably mainly from Americans though.

I always thought metal was far more of a midlands thing. What are the famous northern metal bands?

Seems like a good place for gothic-doom metal; Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride are Northern.
