Stop being insecure about being a "faggot," whether that means too feminine, too childish, or whatever.
Really, I think there are a couple ways to do this. One is to make it not characterize you at all - be self-sufficient, masculine, manly, mature, all that.
But I actually think the much more effective way is to just become comfortable with yourself.
For example, when I was younger I worried about being immature, so I didn't want to associate with my fondness for the band Cap'n Jazz, who are all about childhood nostalgia. At some point I think I became manly and mature enough, but I also think it's more notable that if I'm a little dorky for liking Cap'n Jazz, I'm totally okay with that.
Just become comfortable with yourself.

I know a guy who's pretty much Chad incarnate and it's always bothered me how he will systematically tell you some things suck any time they're brought up, like he has to make sure you know he isn't into that corny shit.
