I dig this so much. The guitar effect is my favorite and the melody is fantastic.

Great vocal and lyrics. Your voice has a wonderful timbre to it, it’s low and sweet. The only suggestion I would make is to add some harmonies or background vocal. Starting with the ending part of “tonight under stars and cypress trees she’ll be reborn”, I love this part of the lyrics best.

Your vocal delivery is good because it sounds genuine. However the guitar feels a little repetitive. I like the parts where it just stops and then you start up again.

I have listened to this a couple times in different threads on different days. It’s very relaxing. I wish your vocal was louder. I like “maybe u do” a lot.

Your bass really stinks of undercookedness. If you ask politely I can help you get a great distorted bass that really feels EXTREME without sitting weirdly in the mix. What software do you use? I can give you some advice If you use FL.
Ok... I'll help you bro. To make a beginner bass, get a defult patch in Harmor, turn the low-pass on A to 10% and 0% on B, and then turn the Sub up on both A and B, next turn on some slight distortion and then EQ the sub in the mixer up all the way.

It's not just to clean up sound quality, EQ is to make space for all the elements to fit together. If multiple elements of a mix occupy similar frequency ranges and attempt to fit into the same space, the result will often sound muddy, and basically just a MESS, it doesn't sound "indie" or whatever you shmucks say its like, its just embarrasing.

If you keep working on your rhythms you could end up rallying up a decent fanbase bro. In terms of how to do that I have a few simple tips:
-practice making beats that are challenging to listen to, and then figure out ways to make its easier on the ears and danceable.
-study ancient/old cultures who have very rhythmic music. Studying the ancestors is a BIG help in the world of art bro. (PRO TIP: study the "rhythm of life" its a really prominent beat with more importance than most modern musicians know)

I think the chorus is fine. It’s not the strongest of your lyrics but it is informative of the general narrative. But also I’m of the opinion that songs don’t need to stick to a strict verse chorus verse pattern, so if you are unhappy with it I would experiment with excluding it. There’s also the chance that later when you think on it, you’ll find better words for the chorus. (To be clear, I don’t think the lyrics to the chorus are bad, they just aren’t as catchy as the rest of the lyrics)

for getting your guitars to actually sound heavy:
Turn knobs marked "gain" or "overdrive" all the way up. Turn other volume knobs down to get the loudness you want. Once you've proved you can get heavy distortion, dial things back to find the tone you want. Focus on being LOUD!! Some amps won't distort at low volumes, mainly because that's dumb as all hell LOL. If yours is like this, either just play loud or give up.
