Is le Redditor based?
Is le Redditor based?
No
dude legit just called most musicians boring
>a 17 year old being right about anything
I'd hang out with his friend and we could write mean things about him on the internet
no way in hell that's a real post. link to it.
Am I boring?
Teenagers are desperate to fit in with who they admire so they're probably just parroting what someone else said.
being an edgy twat isn’t very based
Lmao absolutely not. I don't understand how the "popular = bad" attitude is still so prevalent. My favourite albums are a mix of canonized and acclaimed albums and obscure discoveries because those are the albums I've enjoyed the most.
cringe
holy cringe
What matters is the relationship YOU, have with the album, not the album's relationship with the masses. So no, he's not based.
>Not understanding that teenagers are wired to push back on anything that vaguely resembles conformity so they can create emotional space between it and themselves in order to carve out their own personality.
Most people don't give a shit about music, they are in it for the image. They pick an album to show off their image, so Can to show they are deep and interesting, to make up for the fact that they aren't deep or interesting.
A favorite album is one that speaks to you personally, sure that could be DSoM or TMR but it is just as likely to be some shitty novelty pop album that reminds you of a particular time in your life.
cringe
>If you're favorite album
stopped reading right there
I love how the dude ends his post "it will change his world". His friend will mostly likely not give a shit about his recommendations and wouldn't bother searching it up.
Wow that's so deep.
svitlania niano is literally the best tho.
But who the fuck are the musicians he listed?
>Most people don't give a shit about music, they are in it for the image.
Most people don't give a flying fuck what others think about their music taste, the only people who associate music with social status are edgy high schoolers
svitlania niano is a ukranian musician best known for being songwriter and singer of cukor bila smert' a ukranian avant prog band that blended complex rhythms and strange scales creating dark mood music that drew from minimalist classical music, dream pop, and eastern europe traditional music. she also released solo music and recordings with collaborators in the 90s. and recently has released several unreleased and new tracks on soundcloud.
bridgett fontain was a french singer famous for making a pretty experimental form of french pop and chanson. most famous for a collaborative album with art ensemble of chicago
ali hassan kuban was a musician from egypt specifically nubia. he is famous for combine traditional nubian music with jazz
all are canonized and acclaimed and pretty entry level rymcore
Yikes fuck you
Someone says Future Days or Raw Power are in their top ten, I give them a high five and then finger their butthole to show my approval
Based
Very
Cool i quite enjoy avant prog. I wouldn't go far enough to make all my favorite music that inacessible though. That's redditgoy's big mistake; unless he unironically loves those three on a deep personal level.
Nice youre absolutely right.
Sounds abrasive but he’s right. We think in images unless we’re composer tier musicians, that is why cover art is important and why the 10/10 threads looks so beautiful with Future Days. We canonize based on the complete package.
i mean all three of those are far better than his friends... svitlania niano is probably my favorite popular musician
Imagine being so elitist about a subjective art form.
the things he listed arent innaccessible at all. all are more melodic and catchy than can who his friend said he liked. just not as well known.
>popular
Kek if you call that popular what obscure stuff do you like?
So Svitlania's solo stuff isnt dank avant prog? Shame.
I hope his friend reads that and stops hanging out with him
It's a troll post but it still prompted me to d/l Kytytsi and it's really good
not sure where you are getting that from what i said. cukor bila smert is more proggy than her solo stuff but is also more poppy than can. her solo stuff still uses unconventional rhythms and scales. prog isnt its defining form but it is an experimental form that takes influence from eastern european classical and folk musics as well as other 20th century clasccal such as minimalism and definitely has some proggy dagmar krause-esque influence. very atmospheric.
youtube.com
youtube.com
this is her more out there stuff
youtube.com
newer work thats more trip hop/ darkwave influenced
soundcloud.com
I mean, It Is, but that doesn't mean It's hard to listen to
Or I don't give a fuck about what people think.
I've nevet met a person in my life that knows Can, Kraftwerk, or even Playboi Carti.
Am I trying to impress rym trannies by rating those artists high?
>asking if some redditor is based
You need to go back.
/thread
Never.
Third post best post
There's nothing funnier than seeing a teenager try so desperately to be seen as cultured that he whips out "real music" recs on his own friends
/thread
Damn i prefer the Cukor Bila Smert material by a large, large margin.
It doesnt seem any more accessible than Can though; which doesnt bother me at all of course.
redditor elitism is a frightening thing
>It doesnt seem any more accessible than Can though; which doesnt bother me at all of course
yeah but you said i wouldnt go that far to make all my music that inaccessible, when it is accessible just less well known. ali hassan kuban expecially is extremely easy listening while being pretty creative and innovative
Soz i was refering soley to Cukor Bila Smert; the only thing related to those three artists that interests me. I don't see it becoming an absolute personal favorite though.
>some shitty novelty pop album
So DSOTM?
I've never heard of half of the friend's artists.
This
Teens will never see their favorite albums from fringe mainstream alt rock bands go platinum. I laugh
>liking patrician music
>instead of appreciating it
Both kids were pleb all along
reminder that every single thing a teenager spouts out of his mouth is pseudo intellectual garbage that they don't truly understand
all kinds of elitism are fucking cringe, also neck yourself namefag
No
In the best possible way.
the sad thing is he's so close but still has yet to come to the realisation that music is not meant to be enjoyed
the person who made this reddit post made their account literally yesterday on reddit and has spammed their post everywhere there. stop shilling your shitpost here.
oh look, a story that never happened
How can you browse Yea Forums and also believe this?
With these kind of posts I just get the feeling that if it was written as a joke, the guy who wrote it is probably just about as much of a wanker as the guy he's pretending to be
I'm confused how this guy doesn't get all these artists he mentioned are just as canonized as the ones he shits on (except for Ramones, they are legit trash of course).
this is obviously bait how are people falling for it
>If you are favorite album
stopped reading
Yea Forums is in no way representative of the general population
>Svitlana Nianio
>not Un Festín Sagital
As someone who's top 5 includes 2 relatively obscure albums (including pic related), one semi popular album that is basically never discussed on Yea Forums and 2 albums that are surely Yea Forums with my favourite album being ITAOTS:
Popular is a relative term: to me Aeroplane is super popular yet none of my friends and colleagues know it, and this guy is a fucking retard who shoukd seriously neck himself or stop being such an edgy cuckster.
>admittedly browsing reddit
shiggitydiggitydickass
Least based thing I've ever read.
Popularity ≠ Lack of Quality. There are plenty of amazing albums that are popular (and plenty that aren't.) Same goes with obscure albums.
>I have a feeling his life is about to change
>implying he thinks his friend is going to remember any of the moon names he spouted out, let alone listen to and enjoy them
>implying he thinks he's going to significantly impact anyone's life with his "superior taste"
He's a no it all faggot teenager.
>implying Yea Forums isn't just a bunch of overgrown edgy highschoolers
Uh... I don't think that's what he meant.
>people attempting to be elitist in the age of streaming
yikes
>you're favorite
Opinion immediately discarded
