Literally one of the most discussed albums on the board.
Loveless
not hidden or a gem
indietronica/IDM release from very early 2000s
signed onto Warp Records and were getting big (especially since their first album was praised all around) and they completed a second one, but something fucky with the copyright made it so they couldn't release it
one of the members went on to join Broadcast before the release of Ha Ha Sound
long story short this is an IDM classic lost to time. i don't know who leaked it, legend has it that it was a Warp employee that had it laying around, or maybe just a member of Plone

Ok, it's an EP but man this isn't as well-known as it should be. It's one of the most inventive choral
records out there and can appeal to even those with a lesser interest in classical music. GOAT stuff:

Fantastic Choice my man
Great modern classical
Yes it's a soundtrack but it's a 10/10 for sure
Altered State by TesseracT. Super unique, progressive metal with no screams. Its the type of album you listen to one song then start listening to the rest of the album. Every song fades or flows into the next one except for one or two breaks. Very melodic and groovy.

Can't be found anywhere other than Youtube unless you want to buy it. Has a real mid-90's-hop-hop vibe, despite coming out in 2011.
>doom metal, noise, oddly not classified as black metal despite the vocals
Really cool album that I couldn't stop listening to for a week straight, bought it soon after that. Thanks random user in a doom metal that only lasted 5 posts!
If anyone could recommend me some similar noise albums that actually aren't just noise and are rocking, I'd appreciate it.
hahaha the first three songs are actually amazing though
halo benders are better than beat happening youtu.be
Coughs- Fright Makes Right
Killing Chainsaw - Killing Chainsaw
Flare- The Flickering Stranger
Ocean Grove - The Rhapsody Tapes
This is cool thanks for sharing. I’m sure you’ve already heard of them, but the body comes to mind when you mention metal with noise and sludge influences.
Beautiful album. Loren Connors is a great artist whose music explores every facet of the human condition.
If Yea Forums knew about it, it would be Yea Forumscore.
Check out Murmuure
Is that reviewbrah on the right?
Dirty Sanchez - New Yuck City (2018)
Worth a listen. Do you know Joey Bada$$? Th one who made the critically acclaimed 1999 Mixtape in 2012?
Here's one of his peers and OG Pro Era founder, Dirty who finallly trying to break free off Joeys shadow. He realeased a really great Album. He deserves a listen and a bit of spotlight.
If you like old school 90's Hip-Hop with melodious Jazzy vibes, this one's for you.

It retains the psychedelic druggyness but is still very folksy and I love it dearly with all my heart.

Just saw them at deathfest. It was the best set for me. Also snagged a copy of the LPs that were apparently sitting in basement after they broke up.

Been jamming Toeachizown by Dăm Funk a lot lately. Great album. Pairs well with Destiny 2 and not doing anything other than playing Destiny 2 for five hours after work

All of Curved Air's early material
did you just grab that off the sharethread? real impressive.
>One of the best-known Russian albums ever
Not him but the fact that it's Russian alone makes Auktyon pretty obscure to those out of "the know"
>somehow no one's still heard about it
you have (and i have). also mediocre and came out under a month ago.
this but unironically
>the final boss of internet rap
so the final boss of absolute garbage?
so what lol. that's more than a band like Duster but you can't even pretend you see people talk about Auktyon 1/5 as much as people talk about Duster.
>X popular band isn't as popular as Y popular band and is therefore obscure
Give me a break.
you give me the break dude, all i said was that it's relatively obscure, which it is. this thread has fucking beat happening and astrud gilberto posted in it, why not go complain about those too lol.
Wow that album name is exactly how this sounds. he's got some crazy effects on his gutturals but I gotta say regardless it sounds pretty creative and insane however he has it set up? Sounds like distortion pitch shifting, heavy reverb and something else
Because I feel like those are obvious jokes (75% of the thread is a joke). idk if you're joking when you pretend these guys, especially that album, are obscure.
TELL ME THAT YOU'RE ALRIGHT
If you want a legitimately great hidden gem album, take pic related. like 9/10 ITT I have to assume are jokingly pretending to be "obscure."
FUCKING BASED
SO FUCKING BASED
Insanely well-known album, but a good one for sure.
Never seen this mentioned here or anywhere else really. Fantastic album.
For those that like it based and redpilled
The Mountain Goats-Get Lonely
Generally overlooked and it shouldn't be.
Steve McQueen is one of the best of all time but this isn't far behind.
Literally as based and redpilled as it gets.
Converge-You Fail Me Redux
Easily their most underrated record.
good drone metal
Mr Elevator & The Brain Hotel - Nico and her Psychedelic Subconscious
It's a pretty gud neo-psych album someone rec'd me awhile ago.
I don't know who recommended this to me on Yea Forums a long time ago but I enjoyed the shit out of this
desu the only reason You Fail Me isn't the most popular is because Jane Doe exists. still fucking good though, unless you're talking explicitly about the redux
this is great

Pic related is the best prog rock album i've heard in a long while, they just focused on writing good songs instead of wank and it all flows so well
Pretty much everything this band has released are hidden gems.
