ITT: Albums you'll never listen to just out of spite
Jaxon Watson
Oliver Collins
All radiohead
Eli Diaz
that's fucking dumb, you call yourself a music lover?
Adrian Fisher
Album I never listen to because it's just wank.
Logan Myers
Yes. Theres plenty of other music to enjoy that isn't herd mentality pushed meme music.
Camden Hughes
I'm just fucking sick of reading about it everywhere. Whenever I see some fantano drones making reference to this shit I just cringe so fucking hard. Idc how good it is
Lincoln Robinson
I bet you have multiple favourite albums in RYMs top 500
Aiden Wilson
Any and all shoegaze, fuck your "wall of sound" bullshit
Luis White
fantano's done a classic review on it and said he doesn't like the album lmao
Luis White
he still bought the deluxe remastered edition
Jacob Gray
I don't think the album is brilliant but refusing to listen to an album out of spite is ridiculous. How do you know you won't like it?
James King
>this is your brain on Yea Forums
Gavin Martin
Had a look. Only a handful of entry level (but good) prog albums. Why the fuck are there so many krautrock albums in it though?
Lincoln Taylor
literally the two albums i would've said for this post based op and based fpbp
Liam Cruz
I skimmed it before. I can tell instantly what albums Id find interesting enough to listen through and TMR wasnt one of them.
Sebastian Adams
i really dont get this mentality. those are the objectively best albums of all time. are they not? seems like it'd be normal to enjoy the majority of them. and yes almost all of my favorite albums are on there, not because i want to seem cool but because i genuinely like them
Gavin Harris
I don't know it, I just don't fucking care. I'd rather listen to anything that isn't abused by cringey 14 y/o elitists
Julian Baker
Just let him he likes to stroke his e-penis on the obscurity of the albums he listens to.
Kevin Rodriguez
Because krautrock fucking rules, but to you it's probably a "meme genre"
Chase Morris
Im the user he (you)ed with that post. I agree that they're nice albums but they're not favorites. When you let popularity decide your album selection, youre inevitably going to stray away from your actual music tastes. Its better to use such charts as a stepping stone to find hidden gems that are truly close and personal to your music tastes.
Ryan Parker
yeah because he's a posturing faggot that'll just buy something on vinyl for the sake of showing it off on camera
Eli Foster
Meh, give me berlin school of electronic and rock in opposition instead anyday.
Robert Jenkins
fucking pedo scum
Luis Bailey
RIO is literally six bands and only two of them are good
Justin Roberts
I agree that it isnt the biggest movement but it really kicked off avant prog music in general. Modern avant prog alongside modern zeuhl is some of the better music being made today. Even on its own; two bands lol, it deserves more love than that.
Cooper Jones
RIO started as 6 bands and expanded to a lot more mate.
Blake Lewis
tried listening to the first 2 tracks.. Skimmed the rest. Just bad overall.
Luke Price
Good taste there really doing you a favor user.
John Nguyen
Any album by The Smiths
Isaiah White
Meh they're really not. I'd guess about 80% of my favorites would be in the top 500 but there are always albums that get overlooked or overmemed and the top albums anywhere tell you more about the users or writers than the actual music, as in it heavily skews towards a suburban white males taste and people are actually convinced that's valid as objective just because music canon was written by white men in the first place. I'm not an sjw or some shit just pointing out it can't all be objective if it's still mainly focused on what's been important or popular in the progression of jazz, rock, and hip hop. A lot of black americans might think some pretty different albums were the best/most important, like good luck getting them to think Radiohead is THAT important, or imagine trying to tell female music nerds that Tori Amos wasn't that important or game changing. We're just stuck on some old ass music canon. It's expanding though and that's nice.
