This man could have actually revolutionised pop

Ha ha.....charade you are

he just didnt feel like it

Attached: BASED.jpg (897x967, 299K)

did he just release something? haven't heard about this dude in over 5 years

nope, its just that his leak made it to spotify

is it any good? i never understood the hype to be honest

has some good ideas (which didnt age that well), but its undeniably unfinished

I like it because I've found some roots of Clarence Clarity in his stuff, but I can completely understand if it doesn't hit that hard for someone

that's because you're not a trend hopping hipster who eats up every pitchfork article

he did
its wonderful stuff
melodically, he's nothing incredibly special but its the mixing of his stuff, the wild textures, great use of samples and off-kilter rhythms that make it unique
paul had a crazy influence on modern pop, both underground and mainstream
very worth a try desu user

yeah, this. Still wouldn't've been revolutionary seeing as clarence did the same thing x10 and it didn't revolutionize pop.

Its revered only because this has been such a shit year for music, so shit that an album that would've been viewed as "pretty good" and gotten overshadowed by yeezus, ceres & calypso, m b v, r + 7, immunity, etc etc would today be viewed a masterpiece relative to masterpieces such as an injury reserve album, another caretaker album, carly rae jepsen, and tim heckers worst album.

who is that man

jai paul

John Paul, what's his name?

I really liked some songs in the first half and the last song the rest was mediocre imo

how dare you whiteboy

one of the freshest in the game

i see his influence in much of the best pop music released the last few years
both lorde and frank ocean take a lot from him i think

Do You Love Her Now / He >>>>>>>>>>>> this entire """"album""""".

good you actually point out some records?

He is godly
but 100,000, Genevieve, Jasmine, BTSTU, Str8 Outta Mumbai, Zion Wolf are bangers too

not that guy but listen to ben khan and james blake's discography
also listen to homemade dynamite by lorde

Vennu Mallesh looking good these days

Clarence went too far in the weird direction with No Now, and not weird enough with his newer stuff. Jai Paul split the difference perfectly.

sure
>nights - frank ocean (jai paul style guitars, glitchy production). futura free, white ferrari too fit this.
>frank ocean - endless album - sounds thrown together, lots of shorter unfinished songs, as well as electronic beats and exercises with no lyrics. this album flows in a similar way to the jai paul tape IMO.

>Lorde - her whole production style on heroine, deep bass, hip hop drums, sensual synths, high pitch whispers and coos for singing, takes a whole lot from Paul.

all this too
Ben Khan especially was my shit for a while he is basically a clone. not nearly as good.

sounds more like influence from other late 2000s p4k pop like neon indian, toro y moi, washed out, panda bear, high places, even MIA etc... ppl keep acting like jai came out of a vacuum but his sound was not some kind of completely original sound he had tons of obvious influence of his own...

BIG IN THE GAME
BIG IN THE GAME

Good thing the new sintgs were also great. But he should not have sperged out so much over the leak. He could have been so much more

Agree but my guy literally became depressed because his life's work leaked
Good thing therapy helped him get back to music

Tbf I think it's completely reasonable. Your first proper debut leaked before you're done making it and someone else profiting off of that. Wouldn't make me want to make anything any time soon.

absolutely based

>this has been such a shit year for music
wow, sure don't see that being said every single year

chillwave sucks dick retard kys
