i thought that when i was 16 but i grew out of it eventually
I'm not talking about the lyrical content or the fanbase. I'm talking about the music. The rhythmic and Sonic experimentation. The Atmosphere.

2017, it was like finding the exact music that reflected how i view the world
most of the band members were from my hometown
im in the same boat, i discovered it in 2017 through Atrocity Exhibition by Danny Brown
pretty good genre if you're a synth nigga.
But Anatolian rock exists???

Kind of this, but 13...
When I discovered this
90s indie rock is actually the greatest form of rock
and what kind of music do you listen now, dear sir?
Long live Pavement
>Post-"""Punk"""
>no Punk sound to be found
Yes user, because it came after punk
A long time ago. Have I mentioned how wise you are, OP?
(and that's a good thing)

I guess I still haven't grown up
how new
When I want artsy music I listen to post-punk.
When I want angry music I listen to hardcore.
Punk has replaced meal and prog for me
I don't listen to queer music.
When I want musical talent, I listen to pure metal. When I want angry music, I listen to thrash metal. When I want faggot music, I listen to glam metal. When I want artsy music...I don't, artfags are faggots who don't actually make art but rather a pretentious parody of it. Metal has replaced nothing because I cannot stand punk rock outside of the humorous retard variety.
Based my fellow metalhead
Johnny marr in an interview with noisy explaining his style and his disgust of bands that only use American blues
But in same interview said he threw a very rock guitar solo in shoplifters because he thought "fuck it".
That dichotomy of being very focused ethos and still allowing himself to say fuck it
Gang of four also started my journey in 2010
2018
Is Thrash metal Post-Punk then because it came "after" Punk?
Its like calling 50s Rock'n'Roll Post-Blues or some dumb shit like that
Early rock and roll uses a lot more blues than post punk uses punk though.
there was plenty of punk in post-punk, which ended in 1983-85 when bands like Talking Heads and Joy Division/New Order decided to go in a poppier direction. Anything after is new wave
Rock and roll did not evolve from blues.
What do you mean by pure metal? Traditional? Theres nothing particularly amazing about traditional metal songwriting and musicianship though It has an enjoyable quality.
Thrash is garbage speed metal with hard rock song structure and an overdependence on muted riffs. I'll pick metallic hardcore over it anyday.
Glam metal is actually pretty chill, thats based.
Artsy music has a scale too and post punk certainly is on the lesser end of the artsy shit scale. If anything todays tech metal tries way too fucking hard to be artsy by going full turboautist technical.
Seriously though, try something less conventional than thrash, try some metallic hardcore.
Punk has replaced extreme metal for me and has become a surpisingly big source of sy th music for me. Don't replace prog though; that genre has way too much hidden gems to offer and theres way more to it than just muh quirky Genesisy symph prog. Afterall, prog punk exists with Xtc, Television, Xtc etc.
Meant to say cardiacs whoops.
when I got into Pere Ubu
nothing else comes close to Pere Ubu
