Loveless - one of my favorite albums Isn't Anything, Slowdive stuff (except for When The Sun Hits and Blue Skied An Clear, those are sweet), Ride stuff - seems half-baked and not as unique; meh Candy Claws - meh, production doesn't sound good but fun concept Cosodorokitsune by Shojoskip and Sweet Days And Her Last Kiss by My Dead Girlfriend / Shojoskip - I'm new to these, but they're really really awesome Swirlies - meh A Place To Bury Strangers - don't like also, the song David Bowie I Love You by The Brian Jonestown Massacre is awesome
Shoegaze-adjacent:
Have A Nice Life - awesome Sweet Trip - awesome Seefeel - awesome, but I need to listen more M83 (first album) - pretty good Bowery Electric - meh The Jesus And Mary Chain - fine pretty cool Galaxie 500 - don't like Lost In Translation OST - really comfy blend of shoegaze/dream pop and downtemp, Tommib by Squarepusher and Girls by Death In Vegas were highlights, I found the similar but not really shoegaze album Euphoria by Insides and it's a little lacking in substance but sounds really nice
Next on my list I think are The Radio Dept and Loveliescrushing? Maybe The Angelic Process? Any recs? Does anything else in this genre come close to Loveless?
I have heard southpacific, it's nice, but I need to listen more to form an opinion
thanks for the recs :)
I'll check those, thank you

>mbv > loveless based as fuck
Parker Collins
Have you listened to Lush or Whirr?

since you like Sweet Trip, try pic >Candy Claws isn't good bitch, Ceres and Calypso is the greatest shugazi record of all time >Slowdive is half-baked listen to Just For A Day again, your ears obviously didn't work the first time
it's an easier album for my ears. Each song has a different energy that creates more than just the sum of it's parts (like Loveless but with complete maturation). Would've loved to hear the songs during the time they were originally being made (1994-96)

I think loveliescrushing are definately the closest to replicating loveless
Evan Williams
Yeah how about better taste

m83s first album is really good too if you’ve haven’t checked it out already
