Get me into Vaporwave
Get me into Vaporwave
If you're over the age of 15 you wont be able to
just listen to floral shoppe, nothing else in the genre comes close to it
I, too, live by the old closed down Vallco mall. 3pac filmed a video there as well.
just listen to the radio, you'll start picking out shit you like
plaza.one
listen to disco-italo, eurobeat, wartime balkan music instead.
Thank me later.
>floral shoppe
One of the least interesting notable vaporwave releases.
desu I liked Floral Shoppe and Lisa Frank 420 is a fantastic Vaporwave track but I don't think it comes close to Blank Banshee 0.
Right now, these are the only two Vaporwave albums I've ever listened to.
Literally first result from Google Images after typing "abandoned mall" but nice catch.
been there since I was a wee lad, so it'd be weird if I didn't recognize it. Beautiful design for a mall, always has reminded me of vaporwave since I became aware of that genre. Thing is, it never got much foot traffic since the mid 2000s. Most of that is due to the revonation of valley fair (a competing mall, and also supposedly the highest grossing mall per sq foot in northern california) and the opening of santana row (harder to explain, but think of a bougie mall town with high income housing on top of all the shops). they started to close down vallco for good earlier last year after a few previous unsuccessful attempts. it'll be a very sad day for the silicon valley if it is ever demolished.
edgy
renovation*
early last year*
you may be able to still break in while they're doing whatever to the insides. last time me and a couple friends checked a few doors were unlocked. have fun if you're close by.
Floral Shoppe, Blank Banshee 0, and whichever Saint Pepsi release collects Cherry Pepsi and Private Caller.
not even mane, 420 is the only song worth listening to on the whole thing. it was only really recognized because of the tranny's shilling and for it having superb album art.
>tranny
>shilling
Really tired of these pollack buzzwords. I do not know who the artist is and I do not care btw..
Floral Shoppe is to Vaporwave what Music for Airports is to Ambient, Ou Panis et Circenses to Tropicalia and Loveless to Shoegaze: Nothing less than its defining prototypical record. If you appreciate vaporwave but dislike this album you are a reactionary contrarian.
nobody over the age of 16 appreciates vaporwave
You do realize that vaporwave started around 2011? Pretty impressive work for some 8 year olds imho.
slowed down pop track samples is about at that age level desu
Start with George Clanton, his music under that pseudonym takes heavy influence from other genres.
vapour wave started in 2011 or something stop being a fuck fuck
this, Slide was one of the best albums of last year.
Its not quiet vaporwave, but borrows elements from it.
his Esprit LP is more vapory.
better listen W A V E
the artist is a literal tranny and shilled his album here. I don't know what to tell you bub.
chuck person beat the tranny to it, plus eccojams is superior in every way, even better album art
Sounds like you're already into it. Go to bandcamp and and listen to some new releases.
Oh, THAT's why that's being shilled here, poltards who've given up on "fashwave" and have decided to try rewriting history another way.
? chuck person is a jew
death’s dynamic shroud is the only consistently interesting artist in the whole scene and the only one worth your time
Supersex420 - Booty Bounce is your best one. Also anything on Soundstation and Artzie Music.
Bullshit. Anyone can enjoy it. It's a genre of music.
Don't forget Ecco Jams either.
eccojams came out first you fucking moron and opn is jewish
James Ferraro
>Ferraro
specifically far side virtual, sushi, prince of rain bad boy flame, skid row, nyc hell 3 am, last american hero, rerex, and iasia
>Blank Banshee
Absolute cringe.
>Yo, bro! I LOVE VAPORWAVE! A E S T H E T IC! Blank Banshee, Saint Coke, HKE, Telepath, MacMinus, DDS, Surfing, Eccojams! I have totally unique and original taste! Totally NOT currated from a list that I saw on Yea Forums, Youtube, Facebook etc.!
vektroid=shit
Noone's talking about Death's Dynamic Shroud?
Listen to the original
Since no one is actually posting anything:
youtu.be
youtu.be
youtu.be
youtu.be
Also the three 'original' albums: Floral Shoppe, Far Side Virtual, and Eccojams
Some of it is less vapor wavey but S.maharba
I'm 30 years old and actually grew up in the era relevant to vaporwave so that's factually false.
A 15 year old can't even understand the cultural reference vaporwave is - he never experienced it.
you didn't grow up in the 80s
dean blunt could record a bunch of unmixed mumbling on cassette and have ferraro flush it down an airport urinal a couple times and it'd still be significantly more interesting than 90% of vaper wave releases. i don't know why people are still fixated on this shit in 2019
Refer to this chart
Not really. Blank Banshee and Floral Shoppe are arguably the most two things relevant to the genre.
Just listen to early OPN
vaporwave refers as much to web 1.0 90s culture as it does the 80s
Vaporwave is synonymous with consumer culture that permeated the 80s and 90s. 90s was the beginning of the countercultures towards consumerism.
I'll need some weed and robitussen/ cough syrup and whatever other miscellaneous intoxicants you've got lying around.
Injest them and then find a good YouTube playlist. Watch the film clip from the first song from dds.wmv's album I'll try living like this. Title's in Korean but its an awesome song and video. Watch it when your fucked.
no
Listen to Windows 96, although that is more Synthwave
Also listen to palm mall mall corp or whatever it's called
Saint Pepsi: Greatest Hits is a classic
I'd also recommend Casino Gardens: Casino Gardens
Phoenix #2772 makes some great stuff as well
Have at it
shut up faggot
>taking suggestions from a popular source means you cant think for yourself
WOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW
Windows 96 blows and so does Saint Pepsi.
Stop bumping this shitty thread, faggots. Let this shit DIE.
>80s
vaporwave is more 90s computer and corporate shit
...
i can't be bothered reading through the rest of this thread so there may be some repeats here:
>Floral Shoppe is where to start, try and disregard its 'meme' status, whatever that really means - it's a really unique example of the textural elements and evocative sonic artifacts characteristic of much of the genre
>i would go to some stuff by skeleton next - start with Cool Water or Lost Memories but don't miss the self-titled album, that gets really strange
>give Eccojams a go at some point as well - wasn't immediately accessible for me but i've come to really appreciate it
>i dont like a music thread so im going to sage shitpost in it
Rule 7 faggot
