my whole family is mentally ill and i dont want to go schizo

listen to jungle instead of shitty rock and rap

listen you couldve said any genre but you had to say jungle. you're a fag. simple as that.

why not? schizos make the best music

>jungle
kek

>motorik
You are blessed, just roll with it.

get FUCKED

lmao the seething chav is so mad people are making fun of his trash genre he doesnt even know who to reply to

it's called jangle retard
unless you mean some jungle psytrance

This. listen to percussionists, not just drummers. The difference in profficency is night and day if you are talking about someone who knows percussions, compared to just some rando on a drum kit.

GET FUCKED

no pretty sure I meant jongle

i’m sure you meant jingle

y'all he's talkin about django unchained,

nah I already said I meant jengle are you blind?

link to your beats? I want to check them out

don't just stick to the same 4/4 pattern, bpm can be whatever you want it to be, but get used to mid tempo. practice with like, snare, hi-hat and kick primarily cause that's how you're gonna develop your fundamentals. don't just default to the same, generic ass licks and phrases to close every beat cause that gets super annoying. read up a bit on shits like syncopations/ use of silences so you can use them properly and y'know. just have fun bro

>listen to percussionists
this is good advice
also, for inspiration and different ways of feeling rhythm, get into and feel bruford's style of drumming. start with red or discipline - very interesting drum parts in places you might not expect (see matte kudasai also 21stcsm from USA live album). fragile is also good to get into bruford - esp heart of the sunrise. his jazz work with earthworks is also fresh - nerve and stone's throw are top tier tracks
listen to all of these right now user

I think he means the beatles

also bias from me personally but for me I admire jazz percussionists the most. Do you wanna hear a guy make a 4 piece kit sound like a 16 piece kit?

watch a good jazz live or 2, it'll do you good

forgot to mention, carnatic music uses instruments called mrdangam and tabla - they sound completely different to the western ear and the style and feel are vastly underused in rock music I believe

ignore the tackiness
the second song is very close to me
i only started listening to jazz very recently. in terms of drumming, I've only paid attention to bruford - in generally more of a guitar guy
would love to see drumming like you describe though, post a link?

A few more tips -

Humanize your beats to make them sound more organic.

Move your hi hat pattern backwards or forwards by a few milliseconds, experiment with this. This also adds to the human sounding element.
