he's been doing that for probably a year. You're gonna have to start pre-300 posts, but then he'll probably multi-IP report you, so good luck. He must sleep some time, just do it then

>he tested positive for the gay so he wasn't allowed to buy a Gibson
yeah budddddddy, I can't shred worth a fuck I just /cleanwank/ with reverb delay and sloppy tapping. thanks though man i try to make it sound neat if not clean, I'm more of a metal dude usually
yeah I'll be the first to admit what they're trendy and to sell albums. >hate it because it's bad and disingenuous again, won't contest that it's disingenuous, bad is a matter of opinion however. technically speaking Tim is an extremely proficient guitarist. >specialists yada yada yeah, the parts of their sound aren't original. They've all been done before. But unless you can point me to another prog/math/shred/trap group that sounds exactly like them, the whole of their parts is still unique for their sub genre. I didn't say they reinvented the wheel. >learn to read you clearly hate it, so why do you have such a hard time admitting it? >he doesn't have a gibson kek, opinion discarded.
Get over it dude faggots are better than you at guitar drawing huge crowds shredding over trap beats, it's lame and trendy, so what. you're just sitting there absolutely seething while they actually get to perform. It seems awful jealous to me.
Joshua Moore
GOAT was pretty good but the rest of their new stuff is boring
Yeah, for a player of your ability that's definitely one too many.
Alexander Taylor
shut the frick up, pi/gg/u
Lincoln Peterson
damn that's dope as fuck. If you ever want to collab on a track or two gimme a shout, you're like one of two people so far I've seen in this thread that are actually really good at playing, that was some real clean /cleanwank/. For real. If my recording setup hadn't completely fried I'd keep going but I'm digging old shit out of my soundcloud because I can't record until my motherboard gets back from being RMA'd. Might put up a quick phone video though in a sec
Aiden Nguyen
It's made of wood and metal. Good wood means stable, durable wood. Good metal means smooth, consistently sized metal parts that won't wear down very fast. So yeah you get what you pay for.
Not like it matters if you're a home/studio fag who buys guitars before he clocks enough hours to have functionally significant fretwear and has his shit in a mostly stable environment. Those high end guitars are made for working players who haul their shit around and perform live, so they're built to live through huge climate swings and hours and hours of playing every night.
Hunter Lopez
>they're trendy and to sell albums. >it's disingenuous These are things you are admitting to me, this is why I'm right. >But unless you can point me to Google "basic bitch djent bands" there's a whole genre for this garbage. >you clearly hate it, so why do you have such a hard time admitting it? I've literally told you I hate this band multiple times. Why do you think I've been telling you to learn to read? >he doesn't have a gibson Maybe some day your allowance from your parents will allow you to buy one bud it's okay. >kek, opinion discarded. Totally sick roast my guy, what year is it? >Get over it dude faggots are better than you at guitar I don't care if they're gay or if they're better than me at guitar. You keep bringing up their sexuality and how good they are at guitar, you realize there's more to music than letting dudes bang your butt and being good at guitar right? You should really see a therapist about all those insecurities rather than projecting them on me by the way. >drawing huge crowds shredding over trap beats, That sounds super fucking lame. >it's lame and trendy, Your words not mine. >so what. you're just sitting there absolutely seething while they actually get to perform. It seems awful jealous to me. Oh yeah, you caught me totally seething here. Seething so hard, I have to protect my waifu twink band from criticism on the internet!
Bentley Price
Fucking footfags ugh
Elijah Garcia
thank you my friend
Would be fun to trade backings for leads sometime Used to try to do that but people don't participate much
you're literally frothing at the mouth trying to convince me not to enjoy certain aspects of a band I've already said are not that good. you're either a conceited boomer who doesn't into gibson memes, or an extremely butthurt 14 year old who stakes his self worth on his musical taste. either way, last (you) you get, and it's free of charge. Get a job, save up some money, get a Gibson™, and thank me later.
Jayden Fisher
What's it like being gay? I wouldn't know, I own a Gibson.
I'm usually either shitposting or lurking in here. Just ask for PenisRS brah and I'll reply if I see it, I just don't play with tripcodes or any of that shit. I'd be down as fuck to trade ideas and tabs, it's the summer semester and I don't have guitar friends anymore to jam with. It'll be probably another week or so before I'm able to record again though, pic related is what I have been using while waiting to get all my shit back together. What's your recording setup like? You have a really pleasing clean tone
I don't care if you enjoy them. They just suck, which you've admitted to me already so we agree. All that projecting though... Sorry you can't afford a gibson and can't play guitar very good. Hope you come out to your parents soon.
Juan Lee
That was just guitar into interface, basic Guitar Rig cleans, running Pro Tools and added some compression and delay
I don't do clean stuff much so that suffices
Carter King
A: people that give advice or talk shit without ever posting anything to prove they even own a gitfiddle
B: People who post really shitty stuff and ask for criticism when they've very clearly been playing for a whoppin 2 weeks.
C: People who just don't understand that gibson posting is a meme and get so worked up about it they shit their diapers and spend 100 posts arguing about why they're bad even though we're all well aware
Choose any of the above
Adrian Sanders
Kek so we're about even, I run guitar to a toneport UX1, podfarm demo tones if it's a recording I don't care about, BIAS if it is, into Reaper. Think on the first one I posted it was podfarm demo with compression delay reverb and a lil bit of suboctaves.
Gavin Bell
You forgot day laboring
Gavin Watson
>gibson posting is a meme >they're bad even though we're all well aware
>thinking I'm going encourage people into my exclusive Gibson Owners Club poorfags stay the fuck away.
Andrew Rogers
I'm aware of that. But more, I see gibson has all these fancy finishes and wood and uses Nitro.
Fender uses bolt on necks and paints over the wood so its considerably less time in construction.
Makes me wonder if Gibson isn't 1000x better value.
Gabriel Nguyen
nitro is an objectively inferior finish material
>metls when in contact with rubber >prone to cracking, flaking
and a set neck isn't necessarily better especially not with gibson neck heels. it's actually worse because if it moves or is damaged on tour you're fucked, get a new guitar.
Nathaniel Harris
Some set necks are worth the downsides. Gibsons though? Naw.
Also imho 3 piece maple neck > one piece mahogany and neck thru > 3 piece maple body > one piece mahogany body
How can i stop this alcohol, weed, chopin, haydn binge bros?
Henry Ortiz
>he doesn't play neckthru Never gonna make it
Jack Nguyen
Anyone in here ever made a guitar interface work in linux? I'm trying to get my fucking tone port to work and jesus christ it's an effort. I try to promote linux and foss but its shit like this that reminds me that it's a complete waste of time for anyone who's actually trying to do anything except develop software or run a server
John Butler
Uhh no shit.
Logan Sullivan
Trust me I'm not doing this because I want to. I had the PSU go out on my main machine, taking out every single component along the way.
Julian Collins
linux is made by its own users and guess what, they all work in development, research, and sysadmin fields
it's an OS for real work, for hosting your web site, for simulating your solar system, and for securing and testing the security of your network, no vidya gaymes, secretary paper pushing, and weedly weedly guitar solos
Who's sam? The dude that thinks every android filename is the same poster?
I'm well aware, I'm a CS student which is why I even have a linux machine. Just figured I'd ask. But nobody in here even has a Gibson so wrong place
Ian Baker
Acoustic guitar is louder than an electric guitar with a well attentuated amp (read: any amp with a master volume knob before the power section)
I can play mine without breaking 90db, acoustic guitars at least reach 95-98 if you really go ham on them. And electric guitars can be used with headphones.
Andrew Gutierrez
Then save your money.
Jacob Mitchell
hmmm sounds good, guess I have some research to do
Daniel Thompson
Then buy a Gibson.
Kayden Brown
Thank me later.
Christian Thomas
Checked. Gibson master race digits confirmed
Elijah Hall
I just want to learn this properly. It’s 4/4 time at 199 bpm. So for these eighth notes do I play two notes per click of a metronome at 199 bpm or just one note per click at 199 bpm? Or am I totally off?
It's more tha likely all cheap chinkshit that wont sound good and will crap out, be it the amp breaking, the wiring inside coming apart, horrible tuning instability, fret buzz, sharp nut and bridges leading to more string breaks etc. But if you just really want to get a guitar in your hands and see if it's something you can get into and it doesn't hurt your pocket may as well
Luke Campbell
So I was playing around in D standard like a teenage metalhead and my amp/cab started sounding like a bad fuzz pedal even on its cleanest settings
It's painful to listen to. Did I kill it? D isn't even that low.
Understand harmony and theory first. Then it's just a matter of creating distinct melodies that complement each other. I hate to shill my own music here but: >soundcloud.com/youngmatthewbrah/untitled-1
The guitar carries the main melody for a time, then the saxophone comes in with a different melody, then there are complementary guitars and bass playing in the background. All eventually blend despite playing different melodies and sometimes complementing each other with harmony.
I would suggest learning a lot of allman brothers, thin lizzy (anything with dual guitar parts) and then of course writing your own parts over other pieces. It will come with practice. Don't just limit yourself to one instrument either. It's sometimes easier to create contrasting melodies with different instruments. Note sure if that helps at all.
Brayden Gomez
I'm in the process of learning harmony/theory I've got the basics down I'm pretty sure when it comes to chords and keys and stuff just having a hard time grasping how to write melodies
I always thought things Lizzy just played guitar parts on octaves and thirds and stuff are there any particular songs or books you'd recommend ?
Jack Cox
>just having a hard time grasping how to write melodies Just got to bang them out. My first melodies and pieces were all simple stepwise motion motifs. Just like actually getting good at guitar, getting good at songwriting and composing and all that takes practice too. You don't want to end up the guy who is an amazing player but can only write twelve bar blues and I V vi IV progressions.
>I always thought things Lizzy just played guitar parts on octaves and thirds and stuff Yes, essentially lol. But it's a good place to start I think. For example, at the end of the main riff of The Boys Are Back in Town, one of the guitars descends while the other (more or less) hits the same note for a bit. Anyways, my point being if you understand what the two guitar parts are doing, you can then play around in the same key but with different notes, rhythm and contour.
Songs I'd recommend, which are all fairly popular: >Cowboy Song by Thin Lizzy >Boys Are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy >Blue Sky by the Allman Brothers (during the solo bits, complement what they are playing with different melodies/leads) >I Still Remember by Bloc Party (lots of lead to counterpoint against) >Make No Plans by Marching Band (these guys do countermelodies well I think) I think the trick is to understand the theory, be decent at improve and writing, and know what adds.
Above all, just have fun and write what sounds good and be open to criticism. You'll know if it sounds like shit and normies will definitely know if it sounds like shit.
Josiah Brown
Even Pelican has better drumming than this.
Austin Price
Thanks for listening friend kek. I am definitely no drummer. I just make some loops in ezdrummer.
Carter Davis
I know they're midi, but the relationship of what a drummer should be doing is going to unlock what you're trying to do.
Michael Green
>tfw forever a bedroom musician I bought an alesis nitro mesh kit just because I know literally no drummers and im tired of writing the same beats. hopefully that will improve me overall as a musician. thanks for the tip!
Matthew Rogers
Agrée, seriously. The people saying Gibson are bad are the same faggots saying Squire and Ibanez are so good.
No. Poors are the worst l.
Adam Phillips
Whats the cheapest most barebones brandnew guitar from a reputable brand you can get
Noah Lewis
This. Poorfags stay playing your chinkshit ibanlez shitplanks. You're NOT welcome in _our_ club.
Lucas Watson
Nitro is good tier. Of course you wouldn't know. Simpleton poorfag.
Dylan Evans
prob squier bullet. depends what you mean by reputable though.
Gibson doesn't need a catchphrase. They just sound good. That's why you buy them.
Robert Nguyen
my 10 year old brother is as tall as that
Samuel Diaz
No
Nathan Bell
"Only a Gibson is good enough" isn't good enough any more?
Bentley Morales
That's not a catchphrase, that's just a fact.
Christopher Long
I chuckled.
Blake Hughes
>thinks the 7th+ strings are only for metal
Yep, too unskilled and uncreative for one
Maybe that’s okay, since gibson is too cowardly to make a 7 string (or anything new, since the star trek badge flopped). What a shit company compared to fender, with shit guitars for washed up rock and metal players.
Carter Harris
gibson owners are 100% more likely to be transsexual. why?
Eli Cook
So I actually looked at the OP pic for a second and like, what the fuck? Lmao what are they trying to say is going on there? Her pantyhose are half down, and shes holding a microphone so maybe like shes fucking herself with it? But why be holding the guitar? Why are her headphones not connected to anything and floating off into space? Or are those earrings? Why are the floating? Why does she have a drum set, I thought shes a guitarist? This whole scene is confusing and silly, take it down, redraw it, buy a Gibson.
Zachary Gray
>the your Gibson's nitrocellulose finish leaves your shirt smelling like Graham crackers after playing Based
Alexander Barnes
Once you feel the sexual power of playing a Gibson, you begin to understand the powerlessness of a penis.
Christian Cooper
They use estrogen in the nitro sprays. All the high test boomers have moved on to dean youtu.be/xfLKYvAwLQI
Michael Long
Fender doesn't innovate either bud, they've been making the same thick necked plywood pieces of shit with garbage pickups for years and years. I've held a guitar from just about every brand I could be happy with, except fender. And dean.
No one knows because apparently no one actually owns them. My local shop has tons of older ones (pre-parallaxe) for dirt cheap so I want to try them out next week or so.
Jackson Morgan
Kek I kept waiting for the good part to start. Should've known better when I saw he played fender.
Benjamin Gonzalez
You're not supposed to think that much about it, dude, you're just supposed to masturbate.
Blake Watson
How can I masturbate when shes not even playing a gibson?
Are Fishman pickups worth the money or are they just an overpriced meme? The double voicing feature seems interesting but it's not that game-changing as far as I've heard.
Juan King
are "premium" pedals and tube amps made specifically so richfags can flex on lesser bedroom rockstars and possibly even people who actually play for a living
>klon - $300 >average EQD pedal: $200-300 >pedalboard usually consists of 5+ pedals = well over $1000 >premium/"legendary" tube amps always run north of $1000, usually $2000 The absolute cost of such a limited setup, before you even buy the extra gear you absolutely need to record. Could have spent that on another gibson.
>mooer ge-200 multi-fx - $300 >line 6 helix - $600-$1600 >axe fx - $1000-$2300 >EHX 44 mag - $150 >SD powerstage 170 - $400 / 700w - $700 >kemper - $1800 Pick an effects unit and an amp or just get a kemper. Now you have more money for more gibsons. Just hide your setup in a gutted fender twin reverb chassis so the audience will praise your warm, organic tube tone.
They are more worth the money than any boutique passives, which are a fucking joke imho
>durr we made 100 year old tech but we promise it's better than the OEM ones artec wound, because our winding machine is uh, magic >sounds the fucking same
Did you know that Charvel is owned by Fender. Did you also know that Charvel makes 7 string guitars? Did you also know that if you get a job and buy a Gibson-you can thank me later?
Ryan Powell
did you know that recognized symptoms of autism are repetitive behavior, anime posting, and lifelong virginity?
>Wow user you're the next hendrix >I can't believe you got a twin reverb to sound like a marshall >Tone really is in the fingers
Isaiah Mitchell
>They are more worth the money than any boutique passives, which are a fucking joke imho It really is. I wanted to try something more modern sounding for my old plank but sadly I can't find these anywhere locally to test them. They seem to be all the rage these days, meanwhile youtube demos sound like any other pickups and the different voicings don't make that much of a difference but then again they cost like any other set of brand puckups.
The tosin abasi set has a pretty distinct sound but you could probably get away with getting a used EMG JH set unless you really want the versatility
Oliver Cooper
Get emg 57/66 or rev set
Jordan Watson
I agree. Even Leo fender moved on to MM and G&L. Cutlass is better
Parker Turner
Still haven’t figured out your interface lol
Jace Butler
Got it, thanks. Which EMGs have coil-split? I think 89 had that feature, any more?
Easton Sullivan
89, 89R, 81TW and the X model counterparts
Henry Hughes
you need a noise gate. if you're going to post wanking it should be good atleast like
Joseph Ross
noise gate aka good technique and clean power in a box
>finally, my fourth noise gate pedal came in the mail! >no muting! >any outlet i want! >*djent djent djent djent*
Xavier Russell
You know how I can tell you've never played in a live setting before?
Eli Cooper
Hi guys, I’m looking to upgrade my first guitar, have been playing on my dad’s ancient Gibson hummingbird but it’s really old and the strings are high and really rusty. Is the Martin Ed Sheeran Signature a good upgrade?
just about every signature model ever is overpriced
Lucas Morgan
A particular reason you don’t want a full size?
Ethan Lopez
My setup consists of guitar ($1000) -> OD and reverb pedals ($300) -> a clean tube amp ($600). There are more things I want but the setup is pretty damn versatile. Not cheap, but it's good for both recording and playing shows and I pieced it together over time. Richfags can't buy enjoyment and I'm not really worried about what other people do. But yes pretty much everything guitar related is overpriced.
Nathaniel Green
Get a yammy
Landon Gutierrez
Secret to god tier cleans on jcm900: Gain near zero and channel volume dimed. Turn gain up for desired volume. It will be incredibly loud before it starts to break up.
Cooper Sullivan
so you're telling me.......that if I want to get a clean tone.........i gotta turn my gain down? get the fuck outta here
Josiah Harris
Yeah but the way i explained produces a better shimmer .
Andrew Hughes
My amp and pedal board cost me less than 200 dollars yet i couldnt be happier with it, should i be ashamed?
Ethan Morgan
not if it sounds good. just remember, there are people playing on $6k worth of gear that sound like shit.
Adam Gonzalez
my guitars neck isnt straight against the body as shown in pic related, should i be worried? (its not as extreme as this i wouldnt have even noticed if i wasnt autistic as fuck)
Kek, accidental micro tonal guitar. For casual use it you dont notice then whatever. If you have any intentions on recording or playing for others odds are your intonation is fucked up and your chords sound awful, although I suppose you could compensate for that at the bridge depending on your bridge. What guitar do you have?
>LMAO DOOD PLAY GIBSON LOL ONLY THE BEST PLAYERS PLAY GIBSON WHAT ARE YOU POOR (never posts his gibson since he doesn't own one) GET A JOB AND BUY GIBSON LOL. (doesn't even have a job himself)
Imagine being this retarded...
Caleb Parker
Like who?
Jaxon Ward
Get a job, buy a Gibson and thank me later.
Christian Price
sitnky goth girl feet
Ian Flores
g&l tribute fallout. Chords are fine as far as I can tell, it sounds better than my jazzmaster at least. That fucking things setup goes bad every few months.
Christian Price
Just wank on your own Gibson, it's good enough.
Zachary Ramirez
If it works it works, just make sure your intonation is correct and you're in tune across the entire fretboard. If it really scratches your autism though like it would me, a luthier will be able to shim it back straight, it's really not too uncommon of an issue with cheap guitars.
Dominic Johnson
But I already play a Rickenbacker
Jonathan Wilson
I dont have a Gibson unfortunately. It's not that I cant afford one, it's that I'm just not good enough at guitar to even lay hands on one. My sensei says you should play for at least 5 years before trying to reach Gibson level.
Kevin Cruz
thumb - E , 1 - g , 2 - b , 3 -e < fingerstyle bread and butter
Josiah Gomez
It messes with me to the point that I rub my hand across the neck pocket obsessively instead of playing but I I'm broke so there's no way I'm affording a fix any time soon
Xavier Nelson
>buy the shitplank I can't afford lmao die in a fire loser
Goth girls dont have stinky feet. T. Goth girl womanizer
Daniel Russell
Where do i need to put the wood? I've tried searching for answers and everything I've found refers to the neck being to high or low relative to the bridge as opposed to to far left or right like mine
Oliver Robinson
How do I deal with the urge to buy a second guitar if my first one is perfectly fine? There's just so many interesting things out there. Is being inspired by a different instrument worth its price?
Its sagging towards the ground right? Speaking as if you were sitting or playing it right handed. If so, the it depends on which side of the neck pocket is loose. You'll either have to shim towards the top of the heel on the low side of the neck, or towards the bottom of the neck pocket if its loose on that side. It would help if you could post a picture of the neck in the neck pocket
Levi Jones
I'm too poor for Gibson anyway.
Benjamin Moore
Once a guitar has rusty strings it’s fit for the skip.
These posts confirm what we already know to be true. Poverty is a serious problem, even in already developed nations. Right now there is a starving child in Africa, praying to Yohimbe to come down and bless his hands with a new Les Paul. For only a few posts a day, you too can help remind the worls: you're not a bad person because you're poor, you're bad at guitar because you dont own a Gibson.
If I have the guitar on a strap the neck is a few degrees closer to the ground that is should be. It doesn't affect anything other than my autism, I mostly wanted to know if it's likely to cause any long term issues like neck warp.
Luke Hernandez
>he day laborers all day and STILL can’t afford a Gibson
Owen Foster
>Get a job, buy a Gibson
I played a J45 and it was so similar to my Martin in sound I just didn’t see the point. Nice guitar but I already have a good one.
I’d consider an SJ200 if I saw a good deal on a preowned.
Aiden Morales
Yeah dude, truss rods aren't important, just buy a gibson.
It's a problem that will get worse over time yes. And it will make your intonation and tuning stability worse and worse as time goes on. Shimming it now will save you the effort in the future
Nicholas Hernandez
Yeah, I love the new San Dimas line but the FR... Ugh. I'm leaning towards the Custom DK24 but I don't like the fact that it isn't a full-size body.
Jayden Cook
If spent as much time at a job as you did wishing you had a Gibson, you still wouldn't be able to afford it. I know you're upset that I can do finger stretching exercises with my wallet, but that's not the only reason I'm better at guitar than you. It also because I play Gibson.
Carson Rodriguez
But I do have a job, I can afford a Gibson, I just don’t really want one.
Jackson Brooks
>guys I swear I'm rich I swear >I just dont buy good stuff cuz reason >wtf dude I'm not lying I'm seriously rich Poorfags never learn.
Ayden Taylor
I’m not rich, a couple of thousand pounds just isn’t that much money in the grand scheme of things.
Asher Gray
>and hes still not playing a Gibson Whew lad
Jayden Fisher
lol bad liar
Kayden Phillips
I play a Martin, it’s a great guitar and I just don’t feel the need for another. I’d much rather spend my money on other things, for the price of a high end Gibson I don’t need I holidayed in Japan for three weeks.
Xavier Garcia
>weeaboo who cant afford Gibson Bet you post anime too. Sorry this is a thread for Chads and the femboy guitar players we fuck, not beta orbiters who cant afford Gibson
Robert Howard
Not in california
Kevin Hill
Just stop for both our sake.
Joseph Wood
You're right, in California everyone has awful hygiene
Lincoln Phillips
>just stop lol
Luke Parker
Nope, I have never posted anime in my twelve years of Yea Forums use.
anime posters and gibson posters are mostly the same people
Dominic Watson
Guitar sales were fine they just made bad investments elsewhere
Jordan Brooks
My left hand fingerstips are becoming numb 24/7, is this normal or am I practicing too hard? doesn't help that I'm learning on a cheap acoustic...
Gabriel Hall
you'll pay for the crime you have committed
Luke Morris
They're different people. Anime poster is a different guy. I'm the only person gibsonposting for the last week or so. Just samefagging it up because its summer and for some reason people dont get that it's a meme. I even admit it every thread and yet endless hordes of faggots keep shidding and pissing and farting and cumming. It's great if low effort salt farming.
Wouldn't happen if you played a Gibson.
Ryder Baker
>bad investments as in making shitty guitars
Nathaniel Allen
I thought he was better in rings of osiris
Nathan James
It's normal, you'll develop callouses/get used to it over time. Try to apply just enough pressure to the strings.
All of these people are the same person, and that person is me
Angel Mitchell
I’m the only real father on this board that actually afford his Gibson.
Jordan Gray
boku no i wanna fuck jiro academia Like ~150 people at a 4/20 show at a local bar that has a p. big open space for gigs as their backyard we thought it was gonna suck cause we were the openers but the show started so late the place was packed when the first bands started playing, the headliners played to like 30 people
Grayson Wilson
post timestamp with your gibson, user. you do actually own a gibson right? you're not just a poorfag pretending?
Samuel Reed
Kek, that shit is funny as an opener until you headline at 1am to fucking nobody and like........damn success hurts dont it I know exactly how rappers feel now
Isaac Clark
Instead of lusting over one of my many Gibsons you should get a job, buy your own Gibson and thank me later
Andrew Lopez
>poorfag pretending You didn't have to call him out after 1 post user you could've let him LARP a little while longer
John Jackson
Justify it by having it in a another Tuning
Nathaniel Adams
This. Gonna buy a schecter shredder with an FR even though I swore off FR's just so I can have a guitar stay in E standard forever while I use my 8 string and PRS for other shit. Those are the mental gymnastics I'm using to justify it at least. I could just buy a Gibson, but I'm not good enough yet
Parker Bennett
I guess that could work. Different scale length and FR also can add something new to justify it. Actually was eyeing Sun Valley shredder like this user
Matthew Thompson
I'm about to go pick up some strings from GC right now, I'll let you know how they play if you're interested. I haven't felt one yet, but I used to have a C1 and really enjoyed that so if it's similar itll be on my short list of guitars to buy
Aaron Jackson
yeah i've put together like one or two shows here and people always complain that they start early but i do so so the headlines play at 11 pm at the latest, don't want people leaving early cause they drank and smoked too much weed and need to go to mellow out/sleep
Owen Kelly
Yeah, please do. I haven't try it out yet since they're only recently arrived to my local store, along with other schecters. I'm interested in this one and also the 7 string Banshee Extreme since it looks unusual with its HSS setup on a 7-string and could actually make for a nice second guitar since it looks so versatile.
Barring that (pun intended), it's all about keeping your wrist as straight as possible, you don't want to be overstretching to try and make it. once you've got the straight wrist it becomes a far smaller effort to move up and down the neck. It's super useful for funk, soul or rnb where you have chords moving from say Ab/Bb to a B and can just slide your fingers up and leave your thumb on the root.
Jackson Sanders
Was going to buy a FR for the exact same purpose. It would just be my guitar to impress boomer parents with sick divebombs and playing One by Metallica over and over.
Andrew Perez
*Ab/Bb to a Bb sorry
Josiah Gray
Does anyone know where I should start if I'm looking to play technical math rock/jazz fusion stuff? I've been playing for a year and have mainly just been playing jazz, but I want to turn my direction towards being able to play things like Polyphia, Ichika and Chon. I just don't know where to begin. Any tips/direction?
Bentley Jenkins
7th chords and the major scale :)
Lincoln Morales
Anyone else enjoying the new chon album :)
Justin Carter
Loving it! That acoustic part at the beginning of pitch dark is neat. At the risk of sounding like an idiot and misinterpreting this, what exactly do I need to take from 7th chords and the major scale to apply it to math rock? I probably just need to dick around and find out myself through practice but I keep getting lost
