First thread back and already I hate that people are moving away from captions and annotations and back to blatant fashionposting. Does anybody really care about the aesthetic beauty demonstrated by your collage making skills? I just want to find new music and help others to do the same. Not pump my fist in acknowledgement when someone posts a tiny, pixelated square that represents a sliver of my obscure tastes that we can both keep hidden to feel superior.
What is that "GOD" album?
god - possession
>taking 5x more time making a chart just so random anons can listen to random albums from it because they thought the cover looks cool
This
you are aware you can add album titles via a 1 second click right?
>making everything unreadable because of a long album title is better
>you are aware you can add album titles via a 1 second click right?
not when you add most of them via url
why would you not just look them up in the catalog on neverendingchartrendering like probably 99% of this board?
you can put them next to the chart rather than on it
That Third Eye Foundation album is pretty good, I should relisten to that
Listen to Zonal - The Quatermass Project Vol.1Try myrmyr - The Amber Sea OR
Tom James Scott - The Carousel
>why would you not just look them up in the catalog on neverendingchartrendering like probably 99% of this board?
either it's not there or it's a bad quality image / wrong version / colors are screwed up
i did find pretty obscure albums on there though
>or it's a bad quality image / wrong version / colors are screwed up
who cares if it's clear which album it is?
I'm confused then, so explain why you come here. The idea of
>"if you don't immediately recognize the majority of albums on my chart, then you shouldn't even respond to me or try to recommend anything."
seems like the makings of a much shittier thread than
>"let's all share our music and make it easy for each other to do so."
dakota suite - morning lake forever
what is 4th album in top row, and one directly below it?
Пpoмышлeннaя apхитeктypa - Любoвь и тeхнoлoгия
what is bottom center?
sick
suffocate for fuck sake's discogtaphy might be up your alley
completely agree
for all i know, these charts don't even contain real albums, just cool looking pictures
purposefully being resistant to sharing album names just makes you seem like an asshole
???
an additional reason is because classical albums don't follow clear artist - album conventions (performer, composer, etc) so it's kind of confusing as to what you should search to find the correct recording. it's simpler just to paste the url
no one said that
why would you recommend based on albums you don't recognize? just rec based on the ones you do recognize
>why would you recommend based on albums you don't recognize?
Maybe I could look them up and listen for a while to develop fuller context for their tastes and make better recommendations
>an additional reason is because classical albums don't follow clear artist - album conventions (performer, composer, etc) so it's kind of confusing as to what you should search to find the correct recording. it's simpler just to paste the url
okay but most people on this board don't post that much classical music. Classical albums do often have the name clearly on the cover so i'd say it's also more acceptable to leave them out there. Still, I really don't get the point of including albums in your chart that will only be identified by those who already know them. Maybe you don't but i frequently just save other people's charts because i like some albums in them, so i can look up the ones I don't know.
i never imagined someone would ever do that since i'm used to getting 0 replies over the past several years so i guess you win
>I really don't get the point of including albums in your chart that will only be identified by those who already know them.
because those are the people more apt to give you recommendations
>Maybe you don't but i frequently just save other people's charts because i like some albums in them, so i can look up the ones I don't know.
fair enough, but i'd respond to anyone who wanted a list of my album names
It's nice to win. But my question is even more salient: What is the purpose of you coming here? You've heard the old saying about the definition of insanity. Perhaps a different approach is in order.
nostalgia/boredom, i used to post regularly more than half a decade ago. for circlejerking purposes with people i knew
>with people i knew
as in IRL you mean? sounds like a rad friendship
Based Niandra LaDes

>i'd respond to anyone who wanted a list of my album names
These charts frequently run over 24 hours. Better put a pot of coffee on! Seriously, just annotate your chart. You can just leave the difficult or ambiguous ones blank if you choose. It's not that hard.

mmh seems interesting, thanks for the recc!
Doc Oc has Novocaine.
Back to when I was a teenager, lusting for death I'd see you in those imageboards, your scrawny body laid out on some cheesy rug, in some slimy house in North Carolina, posing for some white neet with a thin mustache who told you he was an autist.
I can't stop reading this.

Inferior snow buildings choice :(

Cringe.
Your taste is alright, but it's clear that you think it's better than it is. There's something wrong with anyone who gets pigeonholed into thinking that avant-garde music is the be-all end-all.
Im sorry bro, which was your chart? ill give you a rec.
Alright, finally got the size widdled down.
First top chart since November 2016.

classical&jazz elitis calling me the worst hmm.
Atleast you picked the right Chance&Contortions album, can give you that.
Also, whats the 1st album in 5th row? You're prolly not gonna give it to me but it reminded me of the DD. Records covers so it intrigued me a bit. eh.
>Also, whats the 1st album in 5th row?
Not that user but I know it
>Various Artists - Insane Music for Insane People Vol. 10
"Insane Music for Insane People" is a series of minimal wave compilations. Vol 7 is my favourite
what do you mean by this?
why do you ask
Sorry.
When I first heard that in September 2013 it had one rating on RYM. I've seen it multiple times in this thread now and I have no clue why. It's in my top 10 because I did a fuckload of drugs to it and lost my goddamn mind - a lot of my adoration of it is definitely amplified by experience.
It's a great album don't get me wrong but I don't understand what made it catch fire.
I honestly do not know.
were you posting in the rym thread last night
I had a couple posts at the very tail end of it, but nothing that was too important. Just advising Ken to quit the site, I don't think anyone heard or cared, though.
The Depreciation Guild - In Her Gentle Jaws
I like you!
iwrotehaikusaboutcannibalisminyouryearbook if you haven't yet heard and looking for more stuff like Saetia
Please hit me with a shoegaze rec or 2!
did you get to see rich's irl penis?
feel bad for her desu. i get why she'd want recs but it was so fucking retarded for her to assume it'd be safe. not sure if ego or giving Yea Forums too much benefit of the doubt
Whether its the former or the latter, she is still wrong.
I feel awful for Ken too. I've been on the evil side of Yea Forums before a long time ago and it honestly is a weirdly addicting form of masochism. Things didn't get better until I quit the site in 2013.
You ever manage to listen to that Herron & Zeiter Tape?
I've been going through zeiter's various aliases and discography for a while now.
Curious if it's worth a cop.
I'm
Thanks.
Dalek - Negro Necro Nekros
Yeah. They're pretty neat.
>inb4 lazyposter
I give recs separate from my charts
[response redacted]
Why did this thread turn into a /rym/ general?
Which tape do you speak of? I've heard literally anything of J.S. Zeiter that I could find through his linked aliases on Discogs.
This is neither here nor there, but Entertaining Mr. Jones is one of my all time favorite songs, I just didn't want to include multiple Montgomery releases on my chart.
because it's the only thread that rymers participate in on Yea Forums, even moreso than the actual rym threads
i blame k*n
she can't do anything without being recognized
Fruitfork participates too.
i dont really feel like mass replying or insulting people today
