I'm seriously torn between this and La Dispute's new album. But god damn, this album has convinced be that Post-Rock can still be good.
It's like A Silver Mt. Zion had a lovechild with Radiohead
Igor
sounds like Volcano!'s Beautiful Seizure on a bunch of valium.
This. Until the new Tool album arrives, Social Cues takes the trophy.
RHODINITE AND GRIEF is really something special. tight album overall.
waiting for Titus's An Obelisk to come out, which everyone's probably gonna shit on, but i'll still blast it and pretend it's good.
will check that one out, user.
best album to come out of milo's ruby yacht crew as well
holy fuck this album is great so far
trans folk have absolutely dominated this year
>katie dey
>100 gecs
>that one album 2nd from the bottom left that i forgot the name of
absolutely good taste
if you're into alt rock / sad folk by trans artists, this is a good comp tdov.bandcamp.com
this is good too but its just female (female) instead of trans psalmone.bandcamp.com
Another solid one. Also Jade Bird's debut album. Looks like indie and post rock is getting big again.
this is a pretty good indie rock / post punk album from this year

>Looks like indie and post rock is getting big again.
really? it seems like its been on steady decline since the late 00s
WOW. I had no expectations for this since I think most 3rd wave Post-Rock is shit awful, but I'm six songs in and I absolutely love everything I've heard. The singer has an incredible voice, and the lyrics to A Moment of Clarity are hitting hard right now in my life.
10/10 rec user
>And that crunch
>Is the sound
>Of the human spirit breakinnnggggg
>Not THERE YOU ARE (HIDING PLACE)
Quite honestly some of Jordan's best lyrical work on that track. Though the album as a whole is really just fantastic.
2019s been a shit year desu. Change my mind. I'm still catching up to shit from 2018.
There's been a handful of decent Post-Rock bands in recent years. We Lost The Sea comes to mind, same with 65DoS and
How has this beast not been posted yet? Fucking incredible
I can never take this album seriously because I saw that picture of that house on Reddit over a year ago
>posting a picture of an album when the album is just a picture
Why do people do this?
>tool
have sex.
what genres do you like
bc it's most ppls HHAOTY and it's not a very interesting pick
Stars of the Lid but done right
another opus from the king Kyle Bobby Dunn
really? lol
he is a corny reddit backpacker but i didnt think it was THAT reddit
>literally only music by trannies
Who are the real bigots who refuse to hear things from people different than them?
But Billy Woods is one of the greatest rappers of the decade tho
Wat
Who cares about “interesting” picks, the beats are insane and Woods’s themes and one liners are engaging and evocative
Just shut the fuck up dude.
>wat
What album was that? Happens so much on Yea Forums where people post an album with just the picture of the album but it's not reverse image searchable.
It literally is reverse searchable but it’s Billy Woods & Kenny Segal- Hiding Places
reminds me of pic related being posted here in a thread about "make a fake album cover" and then a year or two later it becomes a Brand New album
it's a pretty good album but not wood's best by any means.
i found that safari al, tha impaila, and even j. sirus put out far more interesting hip hop projects so far, and I haven't even heard a lot of hip hop albums from this year yet.
also
>Who cares about "interesting" picks
would be a pretty boring thread if everyone posted fantano-core like you
I mean I can post obscure picks too, just saying post what you like most instead of actively aiming for interesting picks over the one you actually like the most
But yeah History Will Absolve Me is definitely better
don't actually know any of the names of these albums. Would love to know what they're called
drums on A Modern Vesper fucking fucks.
did you just go on discogs and look it up by new releases and pick that
lmfao
Between this, IGOR, and Trust in the Life Force
did la dispute become post rock?
fucking based
Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1
They’ve always kind of been Post-Rock in a sense, but with this album, even more so. Heavy use of atmosphere, timbre, texture, tension and release. GREAT record
Yeah. I understand why they'd want to move past their sceny post hardcore sound(a sound they did very well)that fell out of vogue around 2011. Their new album does still feel like a La Dispute record though.
this is the most 'post-rock' album they've done. i don't think i've ever heard them sound so sparse, gentle yet still somehow aggressive and emotive. Panorama rumbles and rolls in like a fucking thunderstorm. shit's so good.
>Not Robert and Gerda
I dont think I've listened to anything from 2019 anons
They had like an EP and one LP that sounded annoying as hell. And then they came out with Wildlife and blew everyone’s nips off. That album is a fucking masterpiece. Mature lyrical content, great delivery, and varied/interesting instrumentation.
Not missing out on much desu.
Wildlife is a Post-Rock album. Change my mind.
Here's mine, as in I made it. Gonna be pretty hard to beat...
i can't help but disagree, some good shit's been coming out. it's like every artist is trying to take their last jab at making the album of the decade.
No Violin
>Invented their own instruments for the record
Post-Rock don't need a violin.
>"auxiliary instrumentation", including trumpet and rhodes piano, and even improvised instruments that Sterenburg's brother created out of scrap metal.
God I love this album so much
Be right back, going to grab a steel garbage lid and some wooden spoons.
We making post-hardcore
We making post-rock bro
Probably the second worst of their albums, which makes it decent, but far from a standout this year.
>this year
You mean last year (by which I mean rook -- Black Dresses is infinitely worse than rook's solo work last year). Also in your obsession you still somehow missed the tranny AOTYSF that's well above those 8 -- see row 3 column 4.
Don't even compare this to SotL, it doesn't come close, though it's not godawful.
>improvised instruments that Sterenburg's brother created out of scrap metal.
>this gimmick somehow makes it good
>Don't even compare this to SotL, it doesn't come close, though it's not godawful.
more like SotL doesn't come close to KBD
It’s not good for that reason alone, but it just shows how much care these guys put into their work.
it's not good for any reason(s), and banging on scrap metal isn't a contributing factor towards what makes something that's had tons of care put into it. i'd actually argue the exact opposite, especially considering the group we're talking about.

I think I saw you in my sleep LOVERRRR
Wildlife sounds literally nothing like their first (annoying as shit) LP, my mans.
not even from the album they're talking about, dude.
I STUCK MY WHOLE DAMN ARM INSIDE THE FRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE
tie my shooooes
this didnt even come out fag
Like
God, this Maggie Rogers shit is awful. This is the best of the year? Lord save us.
this is really good, kinda reminds me of Dirty 3
This thread sucks
