Wouldn't say I'm hyped exactly but I still think it will be pretty good. I think as time went on Neil mellowed and purposefully took the edge off the music a bit and he's said as much in interviews. The recent stuff just doesn't have that same punch that the early albums did but the songs still sound good so I'll deal. I do think they went a little too far on the cheesy 90's aesthetics this time tho lmao

Honestly I think his newer stuff is just as good as the old. I'd say Foreverland is second only to Casanova in quality. Plus I really like the two singles, especially Norman and Norma

Yeah to be sure, they've definitely never put out a bad album which is pretty incredible considering they've been going for almost 30 years! I did enjoy the singles, I thought the video for queuejumper was very funny

I feel like the kind of music they put out goes over a lot of peoples heads. It's wordy and complex like you said but firmly pop. I think Neil taking out some of the edge won't necessarily be for the worst, some of the lyrics on Casanova hasn't aged that well for today's cultural climate. I'm looking forward to the new album
