Thing I find funny about Harsh Noise is how many people pretend to like it to appear deep or intellectual about their music choices.
>You don't get it? Ha ha.. I expected that.
you guys are fucking retards and thats final
I'm not going to waste my time trying to explain it. You either like it, or you don't.
>I hate it, therefore people just pretend to like thing I don't like
Nice argument fuckass.
because you cant explain it
maybe try and explain it idiots
a lot of people get more enjoyment out of timbres and tones instead of melody and rhythms and noise music can be super enjoyable for those type of people. 90s merzbow is just gimmicky because of how it sounds and hanatarash is way better

I'm going to sound so pretentious saying it but noise like this is appealing partially for the chaotic and harsh sound, in a similar vein that hardcore punk and screamo is appealing to people: people enjoy the chaos. With a lot of noise it's less structured and allows the production to flow freely, meaning it can be pretty interesting to listen to when you're not expecting which direction the noise will go. I know a lot of people enjoy the harsh texture of noise production too, and that makes sense as it's distinctive, but I also personally love hearing details in the sound, or how pitches, loops, samples and, in other projects, rhythms, and even beats are manipulated to such extremities that it becomes a wave of sound washing over me. Something like what you've posted is not as easily accessible as someone like Merzbow who has released albums like Merzbeat, Sphere and 1930 which are pretty good starting places for people new to noise and want to hear unique sounds.
Are you perhaps eighteen?
>I have no counterargument so I'm going to say he's 18 xDDD got him!
leave
I don't give a fuck about "artistic value" I just think it sounds good
>l-leave p-please we only talk about boring hip-hop and safe indie rock shit k-kanye west is theb est!!!111
another good starting point to ease your way into noise are noisecore bands like gero and tranquilizer and deep jew. since some are still 4 piece bands with drums still being very present.
y-you just don't get it though. i-it goes soft and then loud and then wub wub wub all while cycling through layers of different variations of tv static and space laser sounds. It can be relaxing or it can be invigorating, depending on the musician you listen to.
i appreciate it on a technical level, but honestly fuck listening to it. shit gave me the biggest migraine of my life, and is just not thought provoking or listenable at all for that matter.
what's with the recent hate for noise here? sure, most Yea Forums hated it years back, but we still had /noise/ generals and a small community, but now with threads like these popping up every 3 days killed the whole vibe. xern0n was a based trip who shared lots of good shit btw. hope he's okay.
i remember getting into noise thanks to masonna and merzbow. didn't like it at first, but my curiosity grew and started to check out most of his stuff and it clicked.
greatest of all time
hanatarash are god. also, was wantootreefo a running joke in Japanoise? The Geros did it most famously, but Hanatarash, Hijokaidan, Boredoms, ect all used the tasteful wantootreefo on occasion.
