google

google the song title, artist and "chords"

or just use your instrument even if you're fumbling in the dark. can't use google forever

look up tabs on ultimateguitar(dot)com

i'm not looking for tabs but chords. most of the time google only gives tabs

go onto ultimate guitar type in the song name and it should have the chords there unless its an obscure song or perhaps a song where chords are absent.

Is it one song in particular or is it just any song?

Check out chordify, it sort of works. Either that or git gud

i won't find it anywhere

practice

Practice, practice. Start small. You're not gonna get, say, The Beatles from a first listen. But you can get Bob Dylan.

Did you specifically type in "chords" like I told you you fucking tard?

Why would u even be searching for chords for something like that. Its just a bass line and a melody line.

but it would sound great with the chords

figure out what key the song is in then pick whatever chords you want.

that's not how it works i'm afraid

yes it is, its like figuring out what the words to the song is when there arent any. jsut make it whatever you want

Then it ceases to be the song you are learning, and is instead your own song

but the song hes posted doesnt have any chords and hes asking what the chords to the song are

Of course it does

ok what are the chords then

It's literally just a C,D,G,E chord progression

Well, generally the bass notes will determine the root, the melody will determine if it's a major or minor.

really? it doesn't sound major to me

i usually just listen for the bass note, then the top note, and see what fits. I can usually figure out the scale via the lead melody in half a minute or so, after that it's just noodling til something works.
