well for this song, like most of my songs, it starts with an iPhone demo of me singing with my acoustic guitar (just chords). I listen to the demo for several days, then set up a tempo on Logic, record the basic chords on guitars, and then, across endless nocturnal recording sessions, I add instruments and arrangements one by one, until I get something that fits my initial vision. It's then mixed and mastered in Logic also.
