There are a lot of bullshit "what if" Beatles thought experiments. Though their mutual influence in the studio would have certainly changed things, I think this blog post gives the most realistic scenario of what the band would have produced if they stayed together:
for those of you not interested in the whole thing, here is a pic of the album after Abbey Road that they would have theoretically produced.
Why the fuck would "God" ever be on a Beatles album? That would never happen on any record except solo Lennon.
good side a awful side b
If we assume that the band would have operated like they did during the production of the White Album (ie everyone just lets each other put whatever they want on the album), it could have
I prefer it that way to be honest. Every other what if scenario very easily just picks what 5 decades later is clearly the highlights. Realistically, the band would have put on the best songs from that given time period (ie 1970)
Here is what in theory would have been their last album before John died
...its not great
>Teddy Boy
>Not Guilty
Yeah because two rejects from previous albums that no one wanted would somehow make the cut out of another 40 songs
Also it makes zero sense for "Venus and Mars" and "Venus and Mars - Reprise" to be on completely different albums. This is really poorly put together.
the Albums That Never Were had a better series on this imo
link?
Reprise wouldnt have been on anything bruh
You're right, but it doesn't change the fact that it's on a different "what if" album than the first V&M in this blog. Makes absolutely zero sense.
How the fuck would Teddy Boy, Not Guilty, and Cold Turkey end up on a 1970 Beatles album? All were rejected for inclusion in the Beatles catalog, not to mention Harrison himself wasn't interested in Not Guilty in 1970, and Cold Turkey had already been released as a single. The other songs from McCartney are suspect as well, even when they're good (like Maybe I'm Amazed) since that album was a direct result of McCartney feeling depressed over the Beatles breakup, which had the Beatles continued wouldn't have required him to pen such therapeutic songs.
>prog is winning
adding to this, it's more likely that a 1970 Beatles album would have sounded like RAM, All Things Must Pass and Imagine instead, seeing as how songs from all three were loosely formed during the Get Back sessions, and all three finalized albums sound like natural extensions of Abbey Road rather than the grungy/lo-fi therapy albums Lennon and McCartney put out first.

Will we get an Abbey Road 2019 mix with a lot of b-sides lads? I fucking wish.
If the 2018 White Album was anything to go by, we'll get a 2019 mix and a dozen "outtakes" of isolated tracks, with a couple actual outtakes like .
That's exactly what I want
