Some of the live versions are available elsewhere, like that acoustic motion picture soundtrack that was for a radio station, but virtually all of the studio recordings have never been heard before. It’s fucking incredible.

I thought about splitting them all into tracks but considering how long that’d take I’m considering making my own compilation of the highlights for more casual listening. I think it could easily be pared down to 2 or 3 discs worth of completely essential material, if not more.

This is a good script, except that on Windows 10 with Python 3.7.3 it will fuck up on any line from tracklist.txt that has a special character e.g. / ? () , etc.

Is it known that it was his call? The 11 minute version is fucking amazing, but it's pretty clearly a rough take. A lot of time could have passed between that recording and the final version. Maybe the band just decided to shorten it themselves.
