Yea Forums should always be developing and improving its taste and standards. the normie backlash against CLT-beckoned patrician age and the plebbitors getting triggered by avant-teens on RYM have made Yea Forums stagnate into a bullshit pale imitation of a handful of subreddits (indieheads, hiphopheads, kanyetothe) for the past half a decade. Yea Forums has to move beyond chart posting, beyond finding random 90s indie albums that are nominally different from plebbit taste, and actually finally ascend to being huge pricks about jazz and classical and experimental music before it's too late

The homogenization of Yea Forums and reddit's music taste and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

It's a noble cause but if you think that's happening given the current trajectory of the board id have to say you're delusional. There have been jazz and classical generals for years but it's never gotten so popular as to envelop the board. There's still a lot of "clt patrician age" left in the board it's just harder to come by and ussually rears its head in misguided ways like this thread. But I guess one person can definitely have an impact on the board so you can always just post a thread everyday and see what happens.

Well yeah r/indieheads was and always has been trash. But here's the thing, user (and be careful because I might be about ruin music for you forever), reddit likes all the music. All the bands you like theres a person who listens to them and posts on reddit everyday. If you cant come to terms with that fact then enjoying things just isnt for you. Cause here's the main point: It's not nessecarily what redditors like that makes them retarded, its who they are as a person.

Your wish for Yea Forums to explore more music is good but I think your reasoning is flawed. The reason your ideal vision of Yea Forums never happen is because you're sitting back lamenting. Find 10 albums that have never been mentioned in the archive, upload them to mega, and post a share thread once a week. Do something. Anything other than bitching about reddit and always having it in your peripherals.
