for the Sweet Trip hunters
what's wrong big guy?
Here are some South American bands that I've been enjoying recently
Mellonta Tauta - youtube.com
Silvania - youtube.com
Low Dream - youtube.com
Não Ao Futebol Moderno - Vida Que Segue:

Why do Alvvays get called tweegaze? I guess it's dreamy, but it has very little if any of the 'Wall of Sound' effect employed by shoegaze.
yeah it definitely doesn't have the same wall of sound, but compared to other straight twee pop or dream pop bands they do have a more "hazy" element. I wouldn't call them shoegaze though, just influenced by it. Still love them
aoty 2019 so far and best noise pop album in a while
Name?
Not noise pop, but still good.
What is your top 5 shoegaze/dream pop artists lads? Mine are probably Lush, Kitchens of Distinction, Pale Saints, Blind Mr. Jones and Cocteau Twins
Is shoegaze a music genre or just an attitude?
yeah, I'd also like a name on this
Kitchens Of Distinction never get enough credit.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Film School. dOVES. Slow dive. Ride. Catherine Wheel.
Fews - Into Red
It's not really noise pop, it just has some noisy parts. Good album either way
fews - into red
Been digging these guys recently, great krautrock/shoegaze mix going on check them out
Thanks lads, I’ll give it a listen
Based Kitchens
Probably both, but not leaning on the attitude part as much as punk, grunge or goth for example

Holy shit dude I made this meme. Crazy to see it used for shugazi threads now
I love shoegaze. Shoegaze was born out of a psych revival in the 90s correct? Does that mean shoegaze is a kind of psych rock? Does it alter your perception in a similar way to psychedelics? I think so but just looking for a conversation. Also I know not all psych pop is shoegaze but does some portion of shoegaze fall into a psych pop category? thanks friends
These guys are pretty decent, it's the last non mediocre nu-gaze band i found
here are a few new songs I've been listening to alot:
Apartamentos Acapulco - La Mujer y el Monstruo
>youtube.com
Blankenberge - Look Around
>youtube.com
The City Gates - London
>youtube.com
here's a shoegaze/dreampop Spotify playlist I created, it's updated weekly with a lot of international stuff
>open.spotify.com
I need more like this youtu.be
Yeah pretty much. In the late 80s/early 90s shoegaze was born more or less out of mixing instruments and ideas from neo-psychedelia, noise rock, space rock and dream pop. Neo-psych had a lot to do with the growth of Post-punk in the 70s, so there is a connection too. I’d rec Boo Radleys, Mercury Rev and Spiritualized for shoegaze bands that lean much more on the psychedelic side. I do think the “wall of sound” in tradition shoegaze has a very psychedelic feel to it
Pia Fraus is amazing. In Solarium and Nature Heart Software are definitely some of the best post-2000 shoegaze out there
Nice man, thank you for your meme service. I wonder what the Goose listens to?

this sounds straight out of v:d:c and it looks like many people haven’t heard of it
Good recs. Thanks user
really liking these, thanks for the recs
I started into shoegaze through the dreamier sound as well, hopefully you get into the noisier stuff!
this is me, check out the playlist it includes what I recommended
bitch got a penis is peak shoegaze
sure I'll check it out,
don't worry I love the really noisy stuff too, shot forth self living, synthstatic, pinkshinyultrablast and snow noise assemblage are some of my favorite albums ever

When is LOVELESS going to be back on spotify, I want to listen to it while walking to work?
It’s there for me. I didn’t know it was removed
Everything from My Bloody Valentine has been gone for about a month, other than MBV which of course was never on there.
The only things left are one of two songs which are on some other compilation records
This isn't all regions though, some their stuff is still there for some reason
Oh huh that’s lame. I do wish we’d get the self titled someday. Is it regional label issues or Kevin’s choice?
If this bitch had a penis and assume position gladly
just download the album
Múm has to have been an influence for v:d:c, especially their other album yesterday is dramatic. It’s not as good as the one on the chart but it’s glitchier. Very similar stuff.
Yeah, I should do that it's just having spotify is so much easier
I actually have a cd of loveless, but that's pretty useless to me when outside
Agreed. Railwayed and Hypnogogic are top tier shoegaze tracks.
more albums similar 2 mid-air thief? (pls dont rec anco)
seconding Múm and Depraciation Guild, weird that Candy Claws isn't there though
>pls dont rec anco
that's literally the only valid answer, though
Reminder this album exists and it's probably the best shoegaze revival release.
Literally everything they've done is amazing
Got my friends hooked on them made me happy
All good bands except Ride
I'll give it a listen
I'll give them a listen hope you're not wrong
Really forced because both are great
>except Ride
I’m sick of the plebs on this board that can’t appreciate more subtle effects and a focus on good song writing. Ride is kino. Better than Slowdive, better than MBV.
I also enjoy slowdive and MBV a bit more than ride, but I think that they represent three pretty different shoegaze sounds. Is the Yea Forums hate because Ride is much more britpop/altrock sounding?
probably yeah. never cared for Ride outside of Blank Again, I think Yea Forums also agrees but what do I know
It's because GBA is such an amazing album. Only Citrus can even contend with it for happiest gaze. Nowhere just doesn't differentiate itself in that same way.
Agree with all points. Citrus is a great album as well and I still listen to it a lot
Here is a little gem for you anons. This band never made it but this tune is still pretty cool.
m.youtube.com
I guess I can ask here, any other albums, bands etc that sound like Heaven is a place on earth or you keep me hanging on? youtube.com
Is this /shugazi/?
youtube.com
Don't know if I'd call it shoegaze. But I dig it. Based.
Just listen to Fall and Today Forever already. And Nowhere too while you’re at it, since I can only imagine you’ve barely given it a chance after it didn’t impress you enough with excessive reverb and noise.
I've listened to Nowhere 4 times and do not intend to listen once more.
Then listen to Fall and Yoday Forever
Just listened to this for the first time and damn is it good. It's like if TFUL282 tried to make a shoegaze record. Thanks to whoever it was that namechecked this band a week or two ago.
I will either today or tomorrow. Listened to a lot of music today.
All swirlies is good.
Yeah, some guy recced this from my chart on a chart thread the other day. It's beautiful.
The link is to a playlist of the whole album. It's labeled as shoegaze and grunge in Discogs, which I thought was interesting.
