Guitar is fucking gay edition

I’ve seen a few people recently asking about piano. I know a lot, I know some of you out there do too. Let’s talk about piano

Post wips, give feedback, etc

I want to learn piano, but I don't have money to afford a keybord. Do you know any kind of piano for PC?

yes actually. don’t shower for a few days, roll around in dry dirt, wear a thrifted ball cap and panhandle 100 dollars and then clist a used keyboard with weighted keys. Alternatively if you have friends you can find free if moved pianos on clist.
Also you can steal something from guitar center. if you can get it out the door they won’t chase you

Have some guitar music played on piano

Name a Chopin Waltz, Prelude, Mazurka, or Nocturne and if it's in my book "The Great Piano Works of Frederic Chopin", I'll see if I can sight read it.

Never mind. I'm going to sleep.
Goodnight pianofriends.

I think those little cadences should be played as 2note slurs with the first loud and the second quiet. Generally

Shaping I know it’s a keyboard and holy shit dynamics on a keyboard but this kind of
Articulation really adds a lot to the harmonic motion at points like Those

But it’s very cute piece thanks for posting

Took lessons for years as a kid, was getting pretty good and then quit for guitar
Trying to get back into it now, shit's hard, wish I kept it up

What if I learn on a 61 key keyboard? Will I be able to shift to a full piano easily?

I got a keyboard, how do I learn?

with a teacher

Imagine playing the piano and NOT playing at least SOME classical music on it.

Yes
You sit down long enough and eventually you look back and you just know

Gonna play Jaws, then some Mussorgksy. Wish me luck.

i'm pretty sure he did.

I'm pretty sure you can't kill music, no matter how many times you try

OP confirmed musiclet.

absolutly this

Is it bad practice to work on multiple pieces with no intention of finishing them? I've been teaching myself for five months now, attempted to learn over two dozen pieces and songs, and the only things I can play start to finish are Menuet and Minute Waltz at half tempo.

Time to bring on the kaka

at some point classical music, like everything else, will die

>Is it bad practice to work on multiple pieces with no intention of finishing them?

I don't know what the classically trained musicians' take on this is but as a jazz guitarist: Not at all.

I can easily imagine that musicians of other genres would disagree though but for me it's all about building vocabulary, proficiency, familiarity and then being able to put it all together in order to play/make my own music.
