Do you use Spotify?

I've used MusicBee for years and I saw a promotion for spotify for £1 for the next 3 months.
Do you recommend Spotify?

It doesnt have a few albums thought so I use foobar2000 as well as Spotify but besides that, its fairly comfy. I dont have any ads and dont pay for it so its a fairly good experience.

I have a good few songs that aren't on Spotify and that was one of my issues about swapping.

No.

Why?

No, and i partially blame spotify-type services for aiding in the triviliazation of music

>inb4 a million buttblasted zoomers pretend it isnt the case

If you have mad money why not, it's pretty convenient
>inb4 plex, plex fucking sucks
I would say it's not replacement for a digital library though as the selection comes and goes, and is limited to begin with

No, don't support the music industry. You can find more stuff on Soulseek anyway.

Tweakbox is always an alternative though.

If I add files from my computer to a playlist, will spotify auto detect those files I have saved on my phone for when I use it on mobile?

i fucking love spotify but then again i don't usually listen to anything produced after 1986 or so

bump

no. i can't imagine having to pay for music, not having everything i want, and having to deal with the default sorting and details

Sure, it's comfy plus acceptable quality
Also if any album is not there I just look it up online, it's no biggie

I use hacked apks (have to update every so often cause spotify breaks them) and for years it's been pretty cash
Annoying that it doesn't have everything, YouTube really is superior for listening to music on the go, but fuuuck paying for their audio streaming mode

You can give it a directory and put your playlist on download and it will sync between your phone and pc.
I still share the bill with family members so 15$ split by 3 accounts isnt a bad price.

I do recommend Spotify.

yeah sure

Truth. But I'm not a zoomer so of course I agree. Zoomers should all be forced to use old file sharing software for a month. Good luck not downloading viruses or songs that some shitty local band listed as "NEW RADIOHEAD SONG" to get more downloads

I pretty much only use Spotify bc of the student discount which comes with free subscriptions to Hulu and Showtime. Without it I would stick to physical, YouTube, or mp3 rips, so I wouldn't necessarily consider it essential.

I honestly, unironically, HIGHLY recommend Spotify premium

*ducks for cover*

What? No.
That's not how it works grampa

>YouTube really is superior for listening to music on the go
yikes

you have to download the playlist on your phone, it's incredibly easy to do.

People here say its normie cuck shit but its not expensive and i like making and downloading playlists so i like it. Been subscribed for a year now

i do but i occassionaly play flacs too, don't bother with premium. install this

>>inb4 "i ain't clicking that shit nigga"

fuck the streaming jew

you seem poor, and because of that reason I wouldn't recommend it, stick with free options.

There is absolutely no reason to pay for a streaming service. The only reason i can think of is that it takes a few less seconds to find the album you want.

It's cheap enough and comes with Hulu, now. So yeah you should check it out. I got suckered in by the $1 for 3 months promotion 4 years ago and now spotify is my go to music player now. In fact spotify is now the most important thing in my life, now, unfortunately.

I'm on about my offline songs from pc that I also have on my phone.
I have enough to get it for the standard price. I'm only considering the swap as I saw it for a £1.

Unless you listen to it on your phone there is no point to change. Plus adding your entire library just for 3 months to move on is stupid. I used to use Spotify 3 years ago but I changed and I've been using Apple Music (and Soulseek to add the albums not available) since then and would not change.

i use adblocked spotify unless the album im looking for isnt there then i download it on soulseek
>Do you recommend Spotify?
yea, its easy as shit to adblock or pirate, if you have an android phone at least

I use it to listen to stuff when I'm out/on the bus. Yeah, it's cool to have offline music at home on foobar, but the ease of access when I'm out is exactly what I need. I can't store all the music I want to listen to on my phone.

if you are already using musicbee for years, you should know the joy of paying zero for music and the joy of a local library.

I started using spotify the day after I watched a Chris Ott video where he said it supported the artists.
It's been pretty good since.

why does anyone use any of these things?

why would you not just download music and listen to it? do these services have anything to offer that you don't get from just downloading the things you want?
