Top-wrapping accomplishes a couple of really great things: - Allows you to increase sustain by screwing the tailpiece all the way down up against the body of the guitar without increasing the break angle too much; - Moves the little wound section at the ball end of the string away from the edge/lip of the tailpiece, preventing friction from unwinding the string, which is a thing that can happen whenever you have that little wound section up against a lip/edge of something, especially if you bend strings frequently. I bend strings constantly so top-wrapping is essentially mandatory for me on any tune-o-matic if I don't want the unwound strings becoming... unwound... at the ball end. Yes, that was an awkward sentence.

Don't most non-gibsons with TOM bridges just stick the strings straight through the body keeping an ideal angle? The same ones that have less extreme headstock angles, useful volutes if any, and A/D/G/B tuners more in line with the nut slots. You know, those ones.
They also say the gauge size on the little packets. Also get locking tuners they make string changes so quick its crazy. Some. people say it helps tuning stability but I have noticed and real difference on my telecaster since they never go out of tune anyway.

Seriously it's pretty hard to find a 3 channel high gain amp with dedicated fx loop for that price, and since they're Marshall clones they're versatile as fuck. Even relatively big bands in niche genres barely make enough to survive honestly, take every time I die for example, every single member has a side hustle they work in between tours and they tour as much if not more than anyone, and have been for years and years. I'm sure they live somewhat okay now that they're big, for their genre, but I can't think of many bands that survive off their bands income alone. Which sucks big time. I think with all the advancements in home recording you can extend your earnings quite a bit though, like Periphery doing all their own albums through Misha, they really only have to rely on the label to distribute their music and book shows.

It's a naturally exaggerated problem given that the most common guitar designs are immune from it and 1: require more force to break 2: are quickly and cheaply repaired if they do while gibsons, having glued in necks with fragile headstocks, are the opposite and must be delicately cared for. And for what? They sound the same as any other mahogany plank with the same electronics and two sightly detuned strings.
I like how the gibson defense force makes a car comparison, when these exact sort of problems are relentlessly mocked and derided in the car community. And also, though I can afford a $2000+ guitar, I wouldn't want a gibson. Ever. I have gone to guitar center and played some ones I guess were supposed to nice but the neck was uncomfortable, a bit sticky, and a $2500 gison shouldn't the neck refinished. Also it was rather disturbing when I saw as many flaws in the finish as you see on the fancier looking schecters and when the 7th and 9th frets didn't buzz but the 8th fret did. I played two that day you see, and both were pretty damn bad.
When I'm good enough to justify walking out onto a stage with an expensive guitar that guitar will be an ESP Snapper Burner, something nicer than any gibson and more expensive than quite a lot of them.

Well, you'll need a digital audio interface, they can be had in good quality for amateur stuff for about $100 or so on sweetwater. To record an acoustic you will also need a microphone if it's not acoustic/electric with a line out. After you have that, if you're trying to stay as cheap as possible, Reaper is a good digital audio workstation(recording program) for recording instruments that can be used for free, and there are tons of quality free amp simulations out there. I don't even have a bass honestly I just play a bass line on my guitar and pitch shift it using the tools reaper comes with, not optimal, but I'm poor and don't own a Gibson so

yup, that's exactly it. once you're recording into the DAW, thats when you can apply VSTs and other effects. This is the preferred method of recording because you record a dry signal with no effects, and can go back after recording and tweak it to your liking. No need to worry about that too much yet, just get an interface, get a DAW, and start playing around. After that look into mixing and all that, but just getting everything set up is a task in and of itself as a beginner, setting up your work flow and whatnot

Bedroom players and gigging artists want to hear room mics and how it sounds with some bog standard, really common gear like a ts9 instead of a fucking precision drive. They also want heads demo'd with a variety of cabs instead of a variety of generic metal riffs. Because that's what you, and the audience, actually hear. Mic'd cab sound is way different and cabs and speakers affect the sound more than anything else, including your pickups.

Ive been using JST Menace for my metal tones for a year or so and decided I was due for an upgrade so I picked up a line 6 pod HD500x after reading some good stuff about how its still relevant yada yada. I made just a quick A/B test using a stock pod preset and Menace with the literal default settings, nothing changed whatsoever.
I can buy that. I just wouldn't record it solely via DI.

If you're not a turbo poorfag I would suggest getting a MIM Fender PBass off facebook classifieds. A lot of morons sell them cheap for like 200-250 every so often. They are not anywhere near an American made Fender quality or sound but for a beginner they will fit the bill and could honestly last you years if you take care of it. Squire shit is literally sawdust glued together with a neck that might as well be plywood.
Any small 8-10" combo amp for less than $100 will work for a beginner too.,
