What the fuck it's all just a bunch of random notes...

What the fuck it's all just a bunch of random notes. It sounds like a group of musicians all playing different songs at the same time. Why did you people tell this is good?!

fpbp

i don't get it

wtf you guys told me music was good, but it's literally just a bunch of guys playing different notes, what the fuck is this

LOL I can't believe you fell for the "music is good" meme.

>It sounds like a group of musicians all playing different songs at the same time.
If that bothers you then avoid modal jazz, which instead of tonal scales uses musical modes. Go listen to some hardbop first, it is less avantgarde as its roots are in rhythm n blues/soul. The following are great for a start:
>Saxophone Colossus by Sonny Rollins
>Cookin' by the Miles Davis Quintett
>Maiden Voyage by Herbie Hancock
>Idle Moments by Grant Green
>Full House by Wes Montgomery
>The Sidewinder by Lee Morgan

Good on you for bringing some actual useful information to this dumbass shitpost of a thread. Yea Forums could use more users like you.

You get kicked off for speaking the truth about this album

>4 note sequence
>random
Sick rhythm tho elvin

There are a lot of notes in A Love Supreme

this, the Coltrane mafia will get you in several days time
you will be visited at night and beaten to death with heavy tenor saxes, your stacatto screams and the syncopated rhythm of your bones cracking under the blows will be the last anyone hears from you
the sounds of your death will be swiftly recorded, pressed on vinyl and sold on the jazz black market as "tributes to Coltrane part 1543: funeral duet"

lmao

Good album

>information everyone already knows

lol if you don't get (i'm not saying like but get) this album, you should probably quit listening to music

Honestly this album is nothing but ambiance to my ears, I don't even notice when one song ends and another begins and I have no strong feelings about positive or negative. I suppose it would be good to put on in the background at a family reunion dinner.

> I don't even notice when one song ends and another begins
It's almost like that's the point, every track is titled "A Love Supreme Part I-IV," and the whole album is one cohesive work meant to be listened to all at once.

It's better than nothing. Could be useful for a true beginner Everybody starts somewhere.

yeah, exactly. this reddit hugbox shit where we tip our fedoras to the good sirs who are also copy pasting shit from rym charts or pitchfork primers or whatever the fuck are worse than the retards who just don't understand basic albums

this

Jazz is white.

...and black.

Jazz is a musical genre so it cant really be connected to any particular shade or color. Music has to do with our sense of sound, not our sense of sight.

Coltrane can't into counterpoint

Based and retardpilled

The soloing on this album makes it a very poor choice for ambient listening. For that, I'd probably go with some cool jazz.

You just don't like jazz. I don't like that album either.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you. It's movie soundtrack material for sure. After like 10 minutes I forget that I'm even listening to music.

the best argument against jazz is that it is degenerate drug infused nigger dance music
