You won't fool us twice with that gay Beatles shit.

because there was a period of time where they were grossly overplayed and overhyped
their music was derivative, repetitive crap that all sounded the same sung by a nasally whiney bitch
the brothers were beatles obsessed assholes
basically represented everything wrong with alternative music in the mid 90s

Frat boy garbage like the Dave Matthews Band. Wonderwall is the go to sensitive college asshole singing to a girl to make her feel special aka get in her panties song. I hate this fucking fratboy ballad shit.

no one likes oasis, a couple of literally forgettable hits outside of "wonderwall" which has been nothing but a laughable meme.

Champagne Supernova is still pretty known and was actually a decent song, but yeah the few others they had back in the day literally have not been heard by anyone in like 20 years. And for good reason.

Kek, I love both Beatles and Oasis but this is a top-tier answer.

alright you silly burgers, tell me right now that this tune isnt fookin' biblical

youtube.com/watch?v=7QyF5UdhBJI

American here, the only Oasis song I've really liked is Married With Children, and that to me just sounds like Subhuman by The Pillows (probably where those japs took it from). Would much rather listen to them or Blur.

remember "Dont Go Away"?
That song was awful

Because America has never produced anything that good before.

Every item of modern music is something the British or Europe in general created, just like the British created the entirety of America, they look on as as their dads, and they are envious of our successful musicians and general lifestyle.

didn't oasis sellout madison square garden the last time they played there?

i'm a burger and i'm mad fer it.

Their best song

>not Rockin' Chair

I mean they definitely have fans but it's much more of a small time cult following thing. Many more people dislike than like them.

oasis play nba arenas in some cities, i think nyc, boston, chicago, la they played arena dates and the rest they just played auditoriums

In 2008-09 they played mostly arenas en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dig_Out_Your_Soul_Tour

In 2005-06 they played 5-6k auditoriums except for NY and LA
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don't_Believe_the_Truth_Tour

Looks like they pretty much always played auditoriums with a few cities they play the basketball arenas. They actually play fairly large venues here. I figured they'd fare worse.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/(What's_the_Story)_Morning_Glory?_Tour#Tour_dates

those venues were not full at all
they maxed out at 20,000 in boston 2005, and like 15,000 for both msg shows, but the rest were usually well under 10,000

the nadir was in the early 2000s when they were playing a lot of sub-3,000 capacity theaters

they played a stadium gig with U2 that was like 50k people or something but they were the opener, and that was the height of their fame here
vid of the concert on youtube
youtube.com/watch?v=nO9c3q9exA4

Ding ding ding

And I liked them at first. Then they got even more famous for the drama and Wonderwall was so fucking overplayed. Every single teenage girl loved them

fpbp

>all sounded the same sung by a nasally whiney bitch
You might be thinking of radiohead/blur

"Don't Look Back In Anger" is by FAR Oasis' best song and it's not even fucking close.

Honestly their first album was pretty good and the second one had it's moments, but once wonderwall broke through, it was all over.

the highlight of an oasis gig was slags getting their tits out and showing them on the screen

>In 1993, Oasis opened for Liz Phair in Manchester. The Gallagher brothers invaded her dressing room, drank all her beer, and ate all her food. When Phair finally came in to scream at them, one of their friends asked her to "get her tits out for the lads."

now that's rock and roll

think she's still mad about it

Attached: gyhtgyg.jpg (606x465, 104K)

Hell yeah

pwoper lads innit

miserable yank bint dunno how to have a laugh

losers

jog on sad act

How can they hate something they don't even care about?

shut up bitch

god shut up

but you don't have to you know

they're braindead mongoloids

It seems rather impossible for non-english/american artists to make it in the mainstream.

they managed to do it 1996-98 though, morning glory sold like 4 million copies

Pretty good really. Doubt many recent bands could do half as good as that.

You read like a faggot user.

One of they few bands that didn't endure because of lack of talent but they just couldn't take the fame. How many bands can boast that?

I mean really if the worst jab is they were the second coming of the Beatles how does that really compare to your shit local band that no one listens to? It doesn't. They may be overrated but Oasis can never be underrated. Suits Yea Forums fine to hate them though.

So they're basically the British equivalent to Nickelback? Gotcha

Lmao not even close, Radiohead is ten times better than oasis

She sounds like a right cunt, glad they fucked with her honestly.

I'm Irish and I think Oasis along with Foo Fighters are the two worst bands that are actually liked.

Yeah it’s not like we invented the electric guitar or anything.
I thank god everyday for Britain. They’re the country equivalent of watching awful reality TV to cringe-laugh at all the atrociously wretched examples of humanity so as to be reminded that you actually have a lot to be thankful for life.

As a 31yo American,

1. they were derivative garbage back then - 90s band desperately trying to emulate the Rolling Stones (no, not the Beatles)

2. they were just sort of commonplace - it's sort of hard to explain now but we didn't have Spotify, Youtube, everything else - Oasis from the late 90s til then was the kind of music you would find on everyone's mix CDs - Ben Folds Five, Sublime, Phish, Britney Spears, etc. It just was.

3. Zoomer baristas play Semi Charmed Life and Mr Brightside like it's just background music and not the kind of thing that brings back tough memories. And when I was younger, Human League and Gary Numan were sort of discarded musicians. We're all just existing in this stream, we all have these moments of identification and whatnot, it's all a lie. It's all good music mostly and it mostly just comes down to personal feelings.

DERE WE WERE NAO HEEAH WE AAAHHH!!! Fookin' mental.

>90s band desperately trying to emulate the Rolling Stones (no, not the Beatles)
in what way did they sound like the stones?

>Definitely Maybe - 8/10
>What's The Story - 8/10
>Be Here Now - 7/10
>The Masterplan - 7/10
>Standing on the Shoulders - 5/10
>Heathen Chemistry - 3/10
>Don't Believe The Truth - 7/10
>Dig Out Your Soul - 6/10

Attached: 1377107435405.jpg (555x644, 31K)

Entirely different moods. I’d argue that definitely maybe is better than pablo honey

>I got zero (0) pussy in college

definitely maybe and dig out your soul should be higher m8

Why do 30 year old larp as 90s denizens when they weren’t even 10? You sound like you were in high school at the time or something lol

Love the way you juxtapose anime and Oasis

Not American and I fucking despise them. All their shit sounds the same, extremely repetitive and bland sound, not to mention they were overplayed as fuck. Holy fucking shit do I hate them, how can anyone listen to this?

no u jsa-claiming prick

They suck

>awful
DON'T GO AWAY
SAY WHAT YOU SAY
BUT SAY THAT YOU'LL STAY
FOREVER AND A DAY, IN THE TIME OF MY LIFE

it sucks

Filthy American checking in. I love Oasis to death. But it's the guiltiest of guilty pleasures. I recognize that Blur, Pulp and even Suede were probably superior, but Noel Gallagher just had a much more primal connection with the listener. They have an iconic, instantly recognizable sound. The thirty-second guitar intro is Oasis. Liam Gallagher can suck a dick though. The worst singer in pop music this side of Mike Love. I mean it.

No one likes oasis faggot

I like them, but it probably helps that I'm only 22 and not British. Half of Manchester over 25's fucking despise Oasis. The Smiths, Joy Division and The Stone Roses they are much prouder of.

They aren't very good?
Why are all Oasis threads bait threads? Fuck off.

I'm a 34 year old american and i love oasis they have some classic songs

I really liked their first album, really fun rock album, but I can't say it was anything special, just fun, uplifting, energetic rock album.
The second one didn't quite grab me just yet, I find it to be less fun and less edge.
Rock'n Roll Star is their best song ever.

Attached: 451.jpg (845x466, 76K)

People who say they don't like Oasis are lying. How's that for a redpill

Irrelevant to the subject matter.

Attached: DD5jEerUIAE33RD.jpg (2048x1534, 675K)

no

WHO ELSE HERE /SHOCKWAVE/ MAD FER IT

>asking a board full of elitist hipsters largely from middle class and Americans why a band that appealed to working class English normies isn't popular

Gee I wonder

I love how soibois utterly hate them and they're the default band they attribute to any white guy who doesn't like the pop and rap cancer that they shill. Case in point being this exchange on another website:

>Stormzy announced to headline Glastonbury
>"He's overrated and has only one album, how is he worthy of headlining Glastonbury?"
>"Lol go listen to ur Oasis you gammon!"

But then they feel threatened by any white male who displays the slightest bit of testosterone, like Noel and Liam do.

based boomer

he was good at first

Jesus man why don't you just admit these posts are to bait mouthgapers. You're such a disingenuous moron, like all these posts.

Oasis is literally the most soi band
shut up

Based Liam tellin em off

Attached: liam_on_grunge.jpg (850x400, 83K)

tryhard

Even more reason to hate this elitist dickwad

As opposed to posh kids dressing down in flannel

You're not british.

Over 25 American here

We love Oasis you retard

Still rather listen to grunge if they were really rich kids desu

Attached: 1558335345397s.jpg (125x70, 1K)

27 here
Oasis are overrated crap

>27 here
Yikes. No wonder you think that way.

shut up boomer

Go to bed zoomer

Okay that's pretty funny lol

Even if they weren't there's a possibility that they aren't manc which would leave them equally open to condemnation

*were

Wtf now I love oasis

That's Coldplay

Nah
Radiohead are not that good.

How were they derivative? Saying they were derivative says more about your lack of knowledge, oasis sound nothing like those bands

Pretty accurate

Learn theory

Liam Gallagher was an amazing singer

I have and It make Radiohead worse.

Nice larp

The electric guitar is based off of the acoustic guitar built in Europe.

We win again baby.

They expected them to be grunge. Or in Liam's words "They expected us to stab ourselves in the head or somethin".

HAHAHAHAHA

Why does everyone hate Heathen Chemistry? I like it more than their final two albums

As an American, this. They had one song. And that's it. They just played it over and over and over again. At least Echo & the Bunnymen had a handful of songs.

it just sucks

americans just want to to lube up their foreskin and listen to schlomocore. a bright bunch like oasis come around and it goes right over their cube formed heads like a chemtrail

also anyone that doesn't like oasis is by default a little poof

Ah yes "I SAID MAYBAAYYYY" is really the height of masculinity and surely too "smart" for us damned yanks to understand

FUCK OASIS

Why does this dishonest narrative-forming thread have over 100 replies? Americans don't give two shits about Oasis. Don't tell me it's all just the same guy.

>Americans don't give two shits about Oasis.
Wrong. They had a number of hits here

Maybe 25 years ago but they're all but forgotten now

Clearly not, this thread has gotten over 100 replies and we have Oasis threads daily

Yes by British people
It is very different over here

No, I see Americans comment all the time. I am American btw

>Dave Matthews
You couldn't even try to tell me that a desperate whiny frat boy (not exactly the stereotype but ok) who could whip this one out on his acoustic
youtube.com/watch?v=I85wVAPNiAM

Oasis are the greatest band of all time
Only Oasis makes me happy
I'm from Ohio

yes, the 90s grungers were tryhard pieces of shit. I'm sure Liam would agree

Oasis had like two songs they just made over and over and over again.

>because these two things are totally the same and interchangeable
>mistakenly thinking that the most groundbreaking aspect of the electric guitar was the guitar itself
I expect this sort of wewuzzing from niggers, but not euros. Most of you guys should know better. Disappointing.
