>upvoting the most basic bitch shit possible is pushing the boundaries of 'Indie'
This is exactly what I expect from music "journalists".

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Yea Forums DUMBKOPF!!!!

>pushing the boundaries of indie
if by that you mean including critically acclaimed already popular hip hop as indie then yeah i guess

to be fair it's more boundary pushing than what this board does, aka shitposting about k-pop and the beatles 24/7

pitchfork has been promoting mediocre rap music and essential indie since like 2007

>Enter r/indieheads, which offers both music obsessives and even casual listeners an opportunity to discover music via other humans without an agenda. And while its diligent discussions, fan-run Q&As and lengthy comment threads aren’t a substitute for professional criticism and reporting, the relatively chill, self-governing community of r/indieheads -- not to mention its tranquil beige aesthetic -- offers an alternative to the chaos of Twitter or the brash elitism that plagued many indie forums of the 2000s.

OH NO NO NO NO NO IT'S LIKE Yea Forums BUT BETTER!!!!!

**as essential

Talking about Reddit should be a bannable offense

You forgot the Beach Boys :D

who else here browses both mu and indieheads

Shut up bitch. Look up the first amendment.

>us
you
fuck blogs, they're as common as toilet shit

>2000's era forums were actually a bad thing
god I hate bloggers

i wish indie would fucking die already fuck off bugmen faggots

Man, I wish I remembered the name of my ultra-ancient Steve Hoffman Forum account.

I HEAR THAT YOURE SELLING YOUR SYNTHESIZERS BECAUSE YOUR DICK IS ONLY 2" WHEN HARD?

Go back faggot, Beatles are based

Millennial faggots are trying to rewrite history to appease the faggy poptimist zoomers. God I hate the state of indie now more than back then.

The Beatles R indeh @s fukk

stay on reddit then

they circlejerk the same albums years end

elitism is the best thing for music, it helps keep its integrity

who cares about some faggot journies and their opinion on reddit
shit thread

saying i like indie music is just another way of saying hey im unique please accept me.

>implying the good only music blogs were indie
s/o discobelle
s/o pandatoes
s/o hypetrak
s/o fakeshore dr.

Or alternatively, it just leads to circlejerks. Most elitists don’t have the credentials to have an authoritative opinion on a piece of music, they’re just saying what they’re saying because other elitists are saying it. elitism invariable leads to a distortion in what music is considered good, because it makes people afraid of sharing controversial opinions.

I do. I prefer Yea Forums but the people here are insufferable. Best music discussion community is on Facebook honestly.

Yea Forums is being a bitch and won't let me post images so here's a link to my fantastic OC
i.imgur.com/wCkCvRY.png

>i.imgur.com/wCkCvRY.png
I was ready to shit on you but that was pretty good

honestly? based.

Based.

Why? We have like 100 posters. Indieheads has 700k subs. I still prefer Yea Forums.

thank you lads
by the way if someone who isn't blocked from posting images could post it i'd appreciate it

Here I'll do it for you

this oughta become a meme
fine work user

The fact that...

>reddit betas promoting bland mac demarco clones and industry plants
>they arent even justified and ancient

there's no good place on the internet to find music. none at all.

I was watching a porn video on pornhub which was a guy and girl fucking in a club washroom and I heard a song in the background which was probably playing in the club. I asked in the comments about it and found it. It's one of my favorites to play at a party now.

what song?

Falling in and out of love.

i exclusively use doujins to fap, unfortunately

Yeah it’s less reddit than most subreddits as most of its members probably lurk here, it’s kinda like a filter for mu

ever heard of mu core

b

i really like this sir thank you

Neither Reddit or Yea Forums are in my top 3 places to talk about music on the net. And no, lol, no way in hell im telling.

>grandpa-core
Worse than dadrockers

Fuck off zoomer mutt, don’t you have a post ironic tweet to make

Has reddit made an album entirely sampling free jazz? No? Then they can suk un diz nutz

CAN YOU FEEL THE SCHADENFREUDE?

Attached: schadenfreude.png (128x180, 33K)

youre a special guy

This board stopped being good like the rest of Yea Forums when zoomers came of age. I think Yea Forums just doesn't attract the right kind of zoomers because of its legacy being established before they came here.

>goes on 8chna
>goes on irc
>thinks he's some kind of god
If that's the kind of people that goes there then I doubt your "special" place is any better than this shithole

ACH NO

Need to add Grimes ugly goblin mug to that montage.

kpopfags shouldnt even be on this board, they dont talk about music
i dont see why they dont just fuck off to /bant/ with the rest of them

I'll take elitism over poptimism anyday.

>post-ironic
Is this genre real?

if it wasn't for this board, i don't think i would have made a deep-dive into so many weirder genres like vintage industrial, post-punk, no-wave, power electronics, noise, EAI, ambient, dub techno, the list goes on... that's partly thanks to RYM, too, though

mods are too spineless to do anything. those fuckers are just /s/ on our board.

I agree, but both are bad.

>unironically a fat drunk mac on the cover
lmao

i go there to see if i missed any album releases

i just wait to see an album spammed on Yea Forums and then download it

based

Every time I try and use reddit I see that the memes posted on Yea Forums about reddit are real.

Pretty much all subreddits have this poster mentality that I find so incredibly cringe inducing. It has to be because people have indentifiable usernames, and the upboat mentality, "the gamification of acceptance on an internet forum".
That's why we despise tripfags on Yea Forums. The mere sight of them disgusts us, because it reminds us of reddit and how bad it is.

I mean look at this shit. How can you browse that website and read shit like this and not throw up?

Attached: leddit.jpg (899x860, 80K)

i agree. votes and usernames gives rise to a different type of culture. i might complain about Yea Forums a lot but reddit's far worse.

You have to go back

There is definitely such thing as a Reddit personality type and it's incredibly irritating. They are immediately identifiable on Yea Forums and even IRL too

>brash elitism that plagued many indie forums of the 2000s.
that's what made them good

elitism leads to the exact opposite of circlejerks
>it makes people afraid of sharing controversial opinions
When you're completely anonymous, that counts for fuck all, nobody knows who you are. If you post something that nobody agrees with then you're in the wrong - dust yourself off and try again - it's a fucking internet forum who cares?

if it's covered by a magazine/webpage, then it means they're pushing exactly what their higher ups want
it's no different from Yea Forums, who knows what will happen once all those shitty websites get behind a paywall, my guess is that we're going to get raided by content creator threads, not that we aren't right now

This reminds me of these kids I saw on one of those "React" videos recently (which my spouse constantly reminds me are totally fake but still) hearing about some old song that was written to criticize the music industry, and they were like "Oh yeah that's like exactly why we have all of these indie bands now!" as if indie bands are something new, from their generation.... but they don't even listen to anything but rap country or a couple rare "alternative" artists.

Good shit bruv

symptoms?

irl they define themselves as part of a fandom

>This should have been us
no

since when is a music forum fulfilling the same purpose as a blog. music forums might have even pre-dated the blogosphere... Why are journalists so fucking out of touch with literally everything.
