HOW THE FUCK DO I WRITE HALF DECENT LYRICS

HOW THE FUCK DO I WRITE HALF DECENT LYRICS

it's the weakest facet to my music writing by a mile

just keep trying lol

i'll write em for you.

BACK HURTS SKITTLE WRAPPERS
SHOES ON MY BED
IT DOESN'T EVEN SING LIKE A BIRD
IN MY YARD IN MY SWING
THE KIDS ARE BURNING THINGS
WHO EVEN ARE YOU TODAY

count your lucky stars op, the reverse is worse
i can write lyrics like a motherfucker but when it comes to the music i don't even know where to start

fpbp

just keep writing. they'll be shitty for a long time. maybe one day you'll write decent lyrics that you don't mind. maybe you won't. just keep writing.

Lyrics are easy as fuck to write

>look at what good lyricists do
>copy it
>switch it around so it applies to you personally

Like wtf, it's just writing words.

I'm a shut in autist. I don't relate to any lyrics

i wrote these lyrics today. thoughts?

saw a light from a window
shine down on a street below.
saw a light from a window
shine down from a house i know.

i remember walking
through alley and the fallen snow.
walked over the valley's edge
over and down we'd go.

i traced your footsteps.
i think about us then.
when we were lovers
when we were lovers and friends.

took a walk through the graveyard
colder than the standing stones.
walked over the valley's edge.
over and down i'd go.

what the day time brings us
the night time ends.

the spring rolled over,
and the summer rolled in.
took a walk through the wilderness,
to reflect my sins.

walked over to the public pool
where i would sink like a stone.
walked over to the valley's edge
over and down i'd go.

what the day time brings us
the night time ends.

spent my time on the hammers
with all those portuguese boys
i couldn't hear what my heart said
through all the dust and the noise.

but i built it back up again
from all of that rock and stone.
walked over to the valley's edge
and walked on alone.

walked over to the valley's edge
and walked on alone.

Write about your favorite anime and don't call the characters by their names.

Just go the easy route and make instrumental music.

But I really like the use of vocals as an instrument

Just an example, I would take some convincing to think One Day by Bjork isn't about Luke Skywalker.

Read books and think about them

WALKED ON THE SIDEWALK
STICKY FROM THE HEAT
TONGUE TASTES LIKE STARBURST
GARBAGE IN THE STREET
THE BIRDS ARE SINGING THINGS
WHO EVEN ARE YOU TODAY

Now kiss.

hell yeah

Add 4 open chords, be unattractive but inoffensive, and you could be the next (more talented) Ed Sheeran.

>Add 4 open chords
You have to be a little better at guitar than that. Not much, but still.

Not to be better than Ed Sheeran you don't.

just write the music itself then write what you're feeling as the lyrics
as long as it's sincere it shouldn't be too out of place or drag down the music too severely

You back to school and pay attention in English class and read books you fucking ree ree

I love writing blues songs like these:

Woke up this morning
No friends, no wine
But I'm the happiest man alive
because me and my gal
are about to die, one more cup
of coffee, let me see that smile.

(Me and my girl, are about to die)

What’s a song you think has perfect lyrics? Print them out, look at them, go over them with a pencil. See what makes them work
Will this help you? I don’t know, I haven’t done it. But I heard Bob Dylan did it and it helped him

Good songs write themselves, it's too difficult to actually talk about crescendo or the creativity burst during that exact certain time where the artist actually wrote such song.

It's important to actually sing the song and then add the music to it, the lyrics should come first if that's the kind of band you have, usually as you play with the voice you do the necessary sounds to maintain everything under the same order.

Here's another piece:

Hey John, how many people have die today?
Hey John, do you think they will like this song bro?
To the suppers, we went alone.
(They don't understand my friend about...
their songs)
Wave on, wave on.
String is down, string is down.
(String is down, string is down)
Hey John!

Emphasize melody, read a shitload.
