tonight i'm going to record some saxophone for what is our most current track. this new sound that we have right now falls under the umbrella of "ambient pop" - the songs are not really songs, they are musical scenery but using klf's manual to give the illusion that they are pop songs. the feeling for this record is "fast and loose" hence the loose sort-of grateful dead drumming and playing. the inspiration for these tracks are taken from the beatles "get back" sessions which i personally love, that and bob dylan and the band's basement tapes and various classic rock jam sessions.
will be going back to using a drum machine proper for our next release (or which may be mine since i am working alone on this one)
just electric piano and drum machines, garage/dnb stuff.
thinking of submitting this release to gorilla vs bear but i think i'll wait for the next album that i want to personally put out once things have gelled more with the vision of the this project.
