If it still held up today then people wouldn't call it "dad rock"
Steely Dan, ELO, the list goes on...
What does that even mean?
this
Pic related is still just a general GOAT album.
"dad rock" is just another term for classic rock which, for the most part on Yea Forums, isn't hip to be into, regardless of the actual quality.
if it's considered dad rock it doesn't hold up

Led Zeppelin live recordings, in particular BBC Sessions and How the West was Won.
Aja, tommy, spirit of the radio..
Wilco and The Band
Showed my boomer dad this band, he complained they were "teen-rock"
Metallica. Not even sure if they count as "dadrock"
>Beatles
beatles are pop and later some psych, not a group associated with classic rock.
Quadrophenia
White album, Abbey road, and Let it be seemed to be transitioning into the classic rock sound
"classic rock," more than rock or world, is a marketing group like oldies music. It's anything that a middle aged man can recognize as music from back then. Theres a classic rock station where I live and they play everything from Revolution 1 to ZZ top and Once in a lifetime and Fleetwood Mac. It's not a pure genre

I'm not sure I'd consider them dadrock, ELO you could argue though.
