Metal is made with the sole purpose of looking badass. Metalfags purposefully do things such as awful production, edgy imagery and lyrics, grotesque visuals, and harsh vocals all for the purpose of keeping outsiders and "poseurs" out. 99% of it's fans don't even like the music, as noted by their constant bickering and infighting. It's entirely and imagery thing for teens and incels who want to look cool, distant, and aloof.
It is an entirely anti-musical genre. The most musical and interesting metal is post-metal or prog-metal, which is all dull and steals concepts from jazz, classical, and other high art to look sophisticated; this all comes back to metal only being about the looks. Nobody listens to metal because they enjoy it. People listen to metal because they want to be unlikable. And it works.
Imagine thinking an entire genre isn’t capable of being music. Only the most boring low IQ people believe this.

Indie is not music.
Indie is made with the sole purpose of looking sad. Indiefags purposefully do things such as awful production, sad imagery and lyrics, nostalgic visuals, and whiny vocals all for the purpose of keeping outsiders and "normies" out. 99% of it's fans don't even like the music, as noted by their constant bickering and infighting. It's entirely and imagery thing for teens and incels who want to look sad, distant, and aloof.
It is an entirely anti-musical genre. The most musical and interesting indie is slowcore, which is all dull and steals concepts from punk, minimalism, and other high art to look sophisticated; this all comes back to indie only being about the looks. Nobody listens to indie because they enjoy it. People listen to indie because they want to be unlikable. And it works.
Obvious ploy by metalhead to make genre unappealing and scare normiefags away.

most there are lots of subgenres of metal worth exploring. Honestly just stay away from "heavy metal" and it's all pretty good

As someone who's been into hardcore punk and noise rock most of their life while being left cold by 99%, I think this isn't far from the truth. Most music is about emotional resonance, but metal seems to be pure LARP-ing. I wouldn't go so far as to say it isn't music at all, but since people apparently enjoy it for different reasons it might as well be a separate art form.

Rap is made with the sole purpose of looking badass. Rapfags purposefully do things such as awful production, violent imagery and lyrics, braggadocious music videos, and incoherent enunciations all for the purpose of keeping outsiders and "poseurs" out. 99% of it's fans don't even like the music, as noted by their constant bickering and infighting. It's entirely and imagery thing for sheltered, white suburban teens and underachieving blacks who want to look cool, distant, and aloof.
It is an entirely anti-musical genre. The most musical and interesting styles of rap are experimental hip-hop or abstract hip-hop, which is all dull and steals concepts from jazz, industrial, and other high art to look sophisticated; this all comes back to rap only being about the looks. Nobody listens to rap because they enjoy it. People listen to rap because they want to be unlikable. And it works.
just do what every sane human being should do: listen to it but stay far away from metalfags

T. somebody who doesn't know what true metal is, and is basing his entire generalization on niche sub genres. Metal is the guitar music version of classical, it's about drama, epicness, and clean sounding virtuosity.
