I've liked most of the other shoegazing albums I've listened to, but nothing will still compare to the first time I listened to Loveless.

Try those out. If you're fine going into more dream pop territory then I'd try Cocteau Twins - Victorialand. Mazzy Star and Love Spirals Downward are pretty sleepy. On the slowcore side of things I'd rec Galaxie 500 - On Fire and Duster - Stratosphere

anyone know any shoegaze bands or songs that use a slide guitar/pedal steel?
i was thinking it would sound real cool when hooked up to a fuzz or some other effects, a la Loveless flute synth sound
