Why aren't there any universally acclaimed rock albums from this decade, like how Kid A and Loveless were in the 00s and 90s?

Kids don't want to make rock, because of bands like the ones you posted
Kids want to be badasses and rebels, not wimpy dorks
What's rock grandpa?

Loveless didn't get ciritcally acclaimed until years after it got released because people are always caught up on the hype. Same case for Spiderland. Kid A isn't good, and they got noticed because it was released by the band that made Creep.
rock is dead
no one wants to be inventive or original anymore, there's no experimentation within music. Hip hop is an embarrassment whose "experimentation" is just ripping off already existing sub-genres of rock.
loveless received massive critical acclaim upon release, it just didn't have much commercial success.
also, spiderland was pretty famous among many different artists within that scene, PJ Harvey wanted Albini as her producer for Rid of Me because she heard that album.
>loveless received massive critical acclaim upon release

>Loveless didn't get ciritcally acclaimed until years after it got released
that's completely wrong
To Be Kind
>there aren't any universally acclaimed rock albums from this deca-
This. It's why metal has replaced rock. Ever since alt rock became the default "rock", it's just been non fun and non tough, so all the adolescent white kids are into rap now if not daring enough for metal.

>Although Shields feared a critical panning,[67] reviews of Loveless were almost unanimously favourable.[68]
Checked. Also the first thing that came to me.
altrock was great, faggot.
s/t is better
Sure, some of it was, once it became shit like Coldplay no red blooded young male wanted anything to do with it, and bands like Nickelback were just too corny and generic for anyone other than country listeners to be into
I'll agree with that.
Tame Impala - Lonerism
The War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream
Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest
Swans - To Be Kind
Easy

See Reviews by whom exactly? Doesn't make any references to it.
It wasn't unknown, but unless you were close to them (like in that case) you just weren't aware of them. And that was the case for years.

you didn't click the link
I did. Did you?
Yes and you're bullshitting.
>hop is an embarrassment whose "experimentation" is just ripping off already existing sub-genres of rock.
Retard alert.
>It wasn't unknown, but unless you were close to them (like in that case) you just weren't aware of them. And that was the case for years.
that's what my post was saying, they were very influential in their own scene, the Jesus Lizards were heavily influenced by them.
>universally acclaimed
Name something from this decade that is universally acclaimed at all. This is an insanely split decade. Good or bad.
Albini had nothing to do with spiderland
It doesn't have the same appeal in the mainstream, but surely there have been some amazing, critically acclaimed albums, like every Swans release, Let England Shake, A Moon Shaped Pool... There's also a ton of guitar-based pop records equally well recieved; both Alvvays releases, every Beach House album... for instance.
It'll also be a while til they start becoming classics. It happens most of the times.
Jews are pushing Black music. Rock is too White. In the modern day, the leftist paradigm that we live in has deemed the White Man as Public enemy number one.
kids today view rock the same way we view polka
its ded
