Critically acclaimed white guy pop art loved by pseuds

Not the best, but widely regarded as excellent. Sums up the pervading feeling prevalent at the end of the 20th century, but looks forward to the 21st and makes prescient observations on politics and entertainment that will only become more relevant with time. Instantly regarded as a classic on its release, but overall pretty accessible.

OK Computer would be a high school level dystopian sci-fi book like 1984 or Fahrenheit 451

>overall pretty accessible.
what? IJ has fairly challenging language, a fractional convoluted plot that jumps wildly between different times, styles, footnotes ect, and last but not least it's fucking endless. i'm not saying it's the most challenging read of all time or anything but calling it accessible (in the same vein as Radiohead, one of the most popular bands of all time) is blatantly untrue

Compared to other works of postmodern literature it's very accessible. If he has the patience, any pseud can pick up Infinite Jest and see it through to its conclusion, even if he has trouble understanding some parts of it or working it into a cohesive whole.

I could also see this. I just think that the proximity in which OKC and IJ came out paired with the fact that they utilise a lot of the same themes and received similar reactions from critics makes them a pretty obvious pair. I don't really know what records I would compare to 1984 or Fahrenheit 451, there was not really a lot of music at that time that leaned on the same sorts of dystopian themes but was easily apprehensible.

You’re stupid this is correctAlso Twin Infinitives is ironically not a bad choice

The Grateful Dead - Europe '72

Infinite Jest - ITAOTS
Gravity’s Rainbow - Trout Mask Replica
Ulysses - Berio’s Sinfonia

Yeah, I'd compare TMR and Hot Rats to stuff like Gravity's Rainbow more so than IJ.

> Ulysses - Berio's Sinfonia
I cannot even express how utterly based this opinion is.

Probably Zappa desu. Both Zappa and Joyce incorporated many styles into their work, and were both criticized for not being serious enough.
