Yea Forums is just far too humorless -- if people took themselves/subjective matters of taste less seriously it would be far nicer. Doing something about that would be step 1 towards improving. Step 2 would be more eclectic discussions of different and less popular music rather than jumping from obsessing over the latest Big Name Artist's release to the next one.
Sharethreads are the most redeeming aspect of Yea Forums and always have been but for whatever reasons they're increasingly rare and get far fewer people contributing, just compared to 2 years ago even.
